Been a while since my last fanart.... I was consumed by the need to draw Astarion in the moonlight fiddling with his spider silk scarf just before Liar's Night, from the excellent fic "The Last Will and Testament of Cazador Szarr" by @abigailmoment

Sometimes a fic just has a certain ambiance / lighting / color scheme in my head and I have to get it out in a picture! I love the idea of him dressed in blues.

So like this is my AU where Astarion has a half-vampire daughter. Out of the thousands of people imprisoned under Cazador's palace, one (1) of them got pregnant, and Cazador kept the strange child around like a pet because she was an interesting, rare anomaly. (The other spawn in the dungeons named her Spider because she liked to crawl on the ceilings.) Later, Astarion + crew release the spawn into the Underdark and the dhampir along with them. Sometime after the game they finally meet. Spider has been living it up in the Underdark punching monsters to death and drinking their blood.

I have been really inspired by @meanbossart who makes the most amazing comics—it's been a long time since I drew any fandom art outside of Artfight, but I was really feeling it! As a gift I made this reaction meme of his du drow witnessing the moment haha

I’m not gonna lie, Cahir’s character broke my heart through the whole series. At first, like everyone else, I thought he was a regular prick (like, you know, there’s always worse in those books), and then, THEN, my boy went through his redemption arc like it was the Olympics?? Bro who gave you the right to be this good? Even if his end is kind of bittersweet, with his ultimate redemption of saving Ciri while we knew he was going to die, I deeply admire the writing of Cahir. The very slight inspiration from the models of fallen angels in art history is fitting for his tragic, betrayed and redemptive character.
