Let's explore a bit of K/J-Pop

Hi! I'm a music lover. Recently, thanks to 2PM, I plunged into the world of K/J-Pop. Just want to share here my findings and first impressions. Fellow K-Pop & J-Pop lovers treat me kindly ^_^

Theme: 유제품 (Dairy Products) Word: 아이스크림 (Ice Cream) Songs found and listened : 5-6 Result: 여름, 아이스크림 by Hanhae (한해) ft. Jeong Eun Ji (전은지). Whivh for some reason was translated EYESCREAM. ... Yep.

What next? Theme: 카페 (Cafe) I really tried to find something beside coffee and tea, but... didn't find something I like. And... poor 웨이터 (Waiter). No songs for them at all... In the end - Word: 커피 (Coffee) Here we go → Cheap Coffee (싸구려 커피) by Chang Kiha & The Faces. Lively, playfull, totally indie style. I listened to a few songs from Living The Carefree Life. They have interesting style. I think it is worth looking through their discography.

Let's try something. I am gradually replenishing my Korean vocabulary through 6000 words in my app. I'll try to look for the words I learned in the songs. So... Today's theme: 자동차 (Car) Today's word: 바퀴 (Wheel) Songs found and listened : 5-6 Among them is a lovely acoustic 바퀴 by Jonghyun. Though, in this song the meaning of the word is a cockroach. Such related meanings there :) But despite this, I really fell in love with this song. Simple guitar chords are pleasant to the ear. The voice is a bit sad, a bit playful and really clear. So nice to listen to it ^_^

What I do at 8 am on a weekend? Listen to the new Junho's album. Happy birthday to one of my favorite artists! And... Yay to the new Korean study material!

I'm not a fan of remixes the original of which I like very much. History proves that I rarely like them. 2PM's Go Crazy remixes were not exception. But now I love it along with the original. Why? I watched a concert performance of BOYTOY's mix from Galaxy Of 2PM tour. Albeit in Japanese, it was very catchy for a concert. I think back then it will also fit well into any party. What has been proven at the House Party. It's differs and sounds new. Slow paced Djnure Vs Fingazz version, upbeat BOYTOY version. The beat makes me move, the vocals are well mixed - in general, a full balance for the remix.

Red Velvet (레드벨벳) - Bad Boy

My sister more likes the girl groups and she mentioned Red Velvet enough to get my interest.

Random choice fell on the album The Perfect Red Velvet.

Bad Boy really drew me in. I'm not a fan of too sweet-voiced songs, so the vocals here sound nice. And the harmonics in the chorus are simply magical. ♡

F: Guitar chords in verses and polyphonic vocals in the chorus are a delight for my ears. N: It gives me a feeling of nostalgia. It’s not at the level of the favourite (I’m not listening to it every time, only when mood is right), but also above the level of the middle. I really like how the melody is built. A fairly standard set of chords: tonic Am, subdominant Dm, and dominant Em. But using Em as the dominant instead of the usual E creates a feeling of non-standard. The composition draws you into a pool of beautiful music and excellent vocals. Really! The melody suits all the members so well!

I liked the jazz interlude between the saxaphone and the guitar. Adds a playfulness to the whole lazy mood of the song. Male and female voices are intersect very nicely. In general, the album is soothing and slow paced. Each song's instrumental background adds an interesting sound to composition. Cello for Zero. Piano for Holiday, Grand Mother and Tree. Guitar for India and L'oiseau bleu. Guitar and (I think) Harmonica for People and Fish. Fish has a lovely jump from A to C# to which I lately can't resist) If you want to spend a relaxing evening, this album is perfect accompaniment.
