We're coming up on the eight year anniversary of GCFT which was released on November 8, 2017.

I was reading an old breakdown of GCFT and what struck me again was this shot at the beginning of the video.

MIRROR.

Purely a coincidence, as I don't think JK chose this sweater for Jimin to wear - right?! 👀 right?! - but made me think. This word made me re-think something that had been nagging at me.

It added another possibility for me to anchor my perception to as to who's perspective is the main one.

Surely we're viewing this story through Jungkook's eyes, but who is making this sweet demand to 'be there for me too'?

Are we, and Jungkook with us, observing Jimin as well as hearing his heart?

Is it Jimin that inadvertently became the catalyst of the entire thing?

Jungkook is the director and creator of the piece, but could this shot be an added clue, that Jimin is more than just the protagonist, he is the narrator.

We know there is an age difference. A pledge to take care of the maknae, a shared determination, a shared dream. But also so much to fight against. They were truly wrung out by the end of this year and the trip was a gift. A small moment to escape, to be free. Jungkook’s gift turned the tables on who was taking care of whom here.

They might as well have been holding hands because they dragged each other through it all.

Jimin's love becomes a mirror for Jungkook, and the love he sees there, becomes reflected on his own face.

i was really hoping there would be no guests this time,, if i had to make an assumption i’d say they probably filmed in LA which is why it says bts instead of just jimin & jk. i have nothing against the others ofc but i don’t think every single thing needs to be ot7. ays was supposed to be just for the two of them. ultimately it’s their decision and i respect whatever jkk choose to do + i’m still incredibly excited for the new season, but idk i’m allowed to be a little disappointed i think 🤧

this isn’t directed at anyone specific /gen but the concept of thinking that jkkrs are jimin & jk’s biggest opposition is so insane to me bc?? have we not watched tkkrs and a concerning amount of “neutral” fandom members drag them into the dirt for YEARS?? obviously there are bad seeds, insecure jkkrs, wishy-washy shippers who only use jkk for that and don’t really gaf about them as people, yes, and obviously invading jkk’s privacy for the sake of proving that they’re together is incredibly fucked up (just look at dan & phil and the toll that took on them).

however, i truly don’t think that this is the majority of jkkrs, and saying that they’re the biggest threat to jimin & jk instead of, idk maybe the tkkrs who show up to the old bighit building and vandalize it with fucked up edited photos of jimin or the tkkrs who send him death threats all the time? oh or the tkkrs who encouraged that rachel cunt to go to multiple cafes (including jimin’s own father’s) and leave ai photos, gross writings, weird tkk shit, etc there?? and for jungkook, what about the people who twist his words like it’s their full time job and constantly attempt to diminish the bonds in his life? what about people who want him associated with every woman under the sun because they’re deeply homophobic and the thought of jk possibly being queer makes them sick? or the gross abundance of people who genuinely have no idea who jk even really is because they constantly reduce him to stereotypes and don’t value him for him? like THOSE are their biggest threats. these are the kinds of people that are actively trying to harm them.

i’m not saying that shitty behavior within jkk spaces shouldn’t be called out, because i absolutely think that it should and i do just that all the time, but come the fuck on y’all. you really cannot act like jkkrs as a whole are a bigger problem than, for example, the people who want jimin dead because tkk ain’t fucking.

the way people feel as though they seriously deserve to know everything that goes on in jkk’s lives is so incredibly unhealthy!! i’m seeing people again go “oh jkk divorced” and shit as if there haven’t been huge bouts of silence from them before. jk not mentioning jimin is his wv lives means nothing, y’all just love making mountains out of molehills. you’re bored and only care about jkk when you get more content, your love for their love wains when they’re quiet. that mentality sucksss. we are not entitled to anything from their personal lives and insinuating that years of interactions that prove, at the very least, that they are each other’s no. 1, mean nothing just because of something so minuscule is such a dumb thing to do. idk why this is even up for debate also but i read an anon ask on someone else’s blog and it made me mad lol,, anyways jk does not hate jimin and he never has. they are fine y’all 🙂‍↕️

i am also once again asking people to go watch dan & phil’s relationship announcement video because the things they had to say about the incredibly parasocial, invasive demand for info about them as individuals and as a couple… i think a lot of people could really benefit from hearing it
