To all the voltron fans who were disappointed with s7, you have a right to be disappointed. But if you’re disappointed because you didn’t get the word “gay” “fiance” or “boyfriend” explicitly said about Shiro and Adam’s relationship, you’re nothing short of embarrassing. You honestly treat this show like it’s the holy messiah, and like it’s going to single handedly change the game for every animated and non animated show out there. You didn’t get exactly what you wanted how you wanted it? Cry about then. The rest of us are too busy enjoying this wonderfully written and planned show to care about you getting 34 presents instead of 35. You were blessed with so many things this season. A stereotype breaking hug and scene(s) between Hunk and Keith. Smart, independent, badass women with loveable personalities, even the villain females. A possible lesbian couple to be. Character development for Hunk. A wonderful and epic storyline. A yes, a gay disabled Asian stereotype breaking leader whose a total badass and loved and admired by his teammates and other people. And so many other things.

Stop trying to purify every show to fit your ideals and it’ll be much easier to deal with it when they do something questionable. And yes, they did something questionable. They made a black character purposefully not speak, which is a common and stupid trope. But don’t get to caught up to remember that there are literally only two white people in the main team, and one of them is a fucking alien. I’m getting off track here.

When you feel the need to purify all your shows and harass and berate the show writers, it tells the rest of us that you spend far too much time on tumblr, soaking in the ideals that if your show doesn’t have all your ships you can scream REPRESENTATION and get everything you want. Take it from an actual LGBT person, I barely cared that there wasn’t any gay before in the show. There’s tons of gay elsewhere. Y’know, in real life. And other shows. But when I found out that Shiro is gay and had a boyfriend? I was ecstatic. My sister and I watched the episode and she got it immediately and I confirmed her suspicions and we screamed about it for five minutes with the utmost glee. It was too obvious. Far too obvious, that they were romantically involved.

So you didn’t get it written out for you in big red letters. Is it that damn hard to see that when someone tells you they won’t be waiting for you when you come back, when you have a framed picture of the two of you together on your shelf, when you seem to live together, that you’re romantically involved? That something deep is going on here?

Not to mention that this has JUST been revealed, and could likely be touched more on in s8, just like the lesbian space pirates could be too.

Just for Christ’s sake stop acting like five year olds and don’t make me explain everything to you. Cause I can’t get everything and I won’t be able to.
