what you learn from hobbies:
consistent practice opens up whole worlds of skill that you couldn't imagine
making mistakes in the process of learning is not only natural, it is also essential
activities that you enjoy can give you more energy back than you spent on them
wow everything is so expensive

underrated tumblr feature is being able to catch up to yourself on your dash. so there is an END POINT. and you can say “ah, I have reached where I left off, there is no more to see! I’ll take my leave now and come back later when there are new posts.” instead of being stuck forever in a bottomless algorithm pit digging deeper and deeper till you have to summon monumental strength to climb out
i have a suggestion
The Wii Phone (left), known from various speculative social media posts and videos around 2008, is not actually a completely original idea made by fans, but is rather based on a real patent filed for a gaming phone by Nintendo in 2001 (right), which of course never materialized into a product.

Officially licensed "Yoshi dreaming about an apple" cap, available at Super Nintendo World in Japan. The cap features a thought bubble with an apple, to which a Yoshi plush accessory is attached to make it look like the Yoshi is thinking or dreaming about the apple*. *technically called a "fruit" in official Nintendo materials, but commonly called an "apple"

In Mario Kart 64, the seagulls in Koopa Troopa Beach are never seen up close during regular gameplay. However, viewing them in a model viewer reveals they have surprisingly detailed eyes.

A 1991 Toys "R" Us commercial featured live-action footage with video games superimposed over it, to illustrate lines such as "You couldn't get enough of it, you ate Nintendo, drank Nintendo, slept Nintendo" and "so now you can breathe Nintendo, love Nintendo, be Nintendo".
The Mario-related segments of the commercial feature surreal footage of boys eating a plate of Super Mario Bros. 2, drinking a glass of Super Mario Bros. 3, and physically turning into Super Mario World, respectively.

Genuinely why is everyone 12 now.
The worst part is that everyone else being 12 is making me more 12 out of necessity. Like what do you mean my most very strongly held and controversial beliefs now include "cover your mouth when you cough that's yucky" and "it's good to be nice and bad to be mean. You shouldn't be mean to people." That's the shit they used to get mad at me on the playground for.
They teach you this shit on carebears man. They teach you this shit on the smurfs.
love the genre of discourse that’s like “the world used to be [thing it never was] but now society is [I’m over thirty]”
