Velvette is like if Vicky from Les Nombrils (The Bellybuttons ?) was even more evil and an influencer
Finally got around to do an in-depth analysis of The Garden by The Crane Wives
(mostly of the text)
TW: religious oppression/violence
Safe Ship, Harbored: autumn (?)
The Fool in Her Wedding Gown: summer
Coyote Stories: winter
Foxlore: autumn
Does that make sense
Depending on what song you get I'll tell you what's wrong with you or what's great about you...and sometimes both.
please tell me if I was right or not

[Panel 1] “Let me be honest, Sarge…” | “…Cornelius! There is no ‘sarge‘! I’m civilian now!” [Panel 2] “Cornelius… That won’t be easy!” | “You’ll have to get used to it!” [Panel 3] “Right… As I was saying, my dear Cornelius…” [Panel 4] “Something wrong?” | “Let me get used to it, will you!” [Panel 5] “Er… If you wish…” | “No, don’t stop! I’ll come around eventually!” [Panel 6] “As I was saying, my dear Cornelius…”

I am so connected to Thomas Barrow that today I lived a modern reenactment of his interview with the homophobic butler in s6
“On… on his shoulders just like in my dream?”

''The Garden'' by The Crane Wives is such a well-constructed song. The first part about shame and hiding ? The idea to ''bury'' something, ''the lies'' the singer might have said...but it's too late already ! Because ''the crows are laughing at [her] expense'', so they know ! So now she has ''blood-stained clothes'' on because everyone knows ! Her and her lover can't bury their forbidden love, so she's gonna bury herself instead: ''Pour the dirt into our bed''. (Also the fact that ''my bed'' becomes ''our bed'', this is a love song, this is an admission...)
From shame to acceptation to anger...''rip up the garden''... She's talking to her lover the whole time...destroying the apple tree, the root of what's hurting them...
Every sentence is worthy of an analysis here.
I already put these on tiktok but here’s my take on the This Barbie trend
