The Mistwood - On a Midsummer Night | @kleinstar

Music was the first thing that caught his attention, the sound of merriment and the heavy scent of herbs drew him in without much of a care for how the night ended. The demon found himself among other residents of Mistwood, swaying in delight to the symphony produced with cup in hand.

It wasn't until he caught sight of a familiar face that he paused, and gave an excited wave.

"Long time no see, my friend! What's kept you all this time?"

Walking further into the heart of the celebrations, Eiden finds his eyes wandering at the passing inhabitants. He's a little enchanted by it all, lost in thought until someone's voice breaks the spell.

The joy of reunion easily spreads onto his face as he meets the man's face.

" Whoaaa! For real, for real! " he says then rushing to him with a energetic step.

" Sorry sorry! What can I say... I'm a busy guy! Anything I can make it up to you? "

"Yeah but that ain't gonna stop them! What's gonna make 'em really not want to come back and pull the same stunt again? You gotta strike fear into them!

By blowing them up. Because only facts and logic were present in the mind of the doll...

"They'll just steal it again! So I think my method is better."

" Not when you've got the whole store destroyed on the side! "

" And you don't know that! There are crimes worse things to do than steal!!! "

He sighs.

" Yeah we have to keep you away from cash registers so that leaves.... " Eiden pauses, " I think I've suggested a demolishing company to you before? I'm sure some of the regular citizen's here need that. "

"Eh, I'll figure it out soon enough. Maybe I'll ask Lorene to keep an eye out, if he's still working at Lionheart." Rennie says as she moves through the dishes.

The pirate lass nods. "You're welcome. I'd be carful to not eat too many. They are spicy."

She pauses for a second and looks at Eiden. "You wanna talk about what's on your mind?"

" Mm. Thanks, appreciate it", he answers, " ah uh... sure. It's not too strong though? "

He's turning back to the crab snacks but then stops at the warning until finally biting into one. The heat does prickle his mouth a little but he's not running anywhere just yet.

" ...I don't have much anything coherent really though. "

" Just a little numb I guess. Except for the whole side hurts so bad it's hard to move deal right? I'm weirdly used to this sort of stuff so I'll get over it.... One time I got stuck into a whole death loop.... "

"So would I. Dying might not stop me but it's not as if I enjoy it." Octavo spreads a generous amount of butter on his roll. Playing the Lute so much in the past few weeks has him feeling like he's constantly hungry.

"Please have a little confidence in me. I can handle myself when I know I'm in for a fight. And I'd rather he come after me than you."

"...I don't know if he finds me so interesting he'd want to come after me. If anything he considers me insignificant and all. Which is fine by me of course. "

He wouldn't want more persistent people with killing tendencies around him anyway.

" He's wrong though, I'm pretty darn significant! " Eiden stubbornly exclaims before turning towards Octavo again. He still maintains strict face for now.

" ....fine, I'll believe you. Just be careful, alright? Don't be reckless. "

"I-I... I didn't think you w-were... f-flirting, that is... J-just for the record..."

"N-not that I don't think you're all those things!" Till is quick to correct, knowing how that probably sounds. "Y'know... charming and funny an' all th-that..."

" ....hmm. Admittedly I do get a urge to tease you sometimes since your reactions are pretty cute. I wonder if I should count that as flirting..."

" Ah but would you dislike it if I did? You did just say I'm charming though so maybe not?Hmm? "

"Sometimes! Although -- well, I am naturally charming and wonderful and funny and cute and handsome.... "

" It's basically trying to charm someone for romantic or naughty purposes - or just to have fun. "

The message doesn't sound like him either. There's none of that usual gentle rhythm to it, just cold letters on screen. And he wouldn't just BLOCK him no matter busy it got....

" .... maybe I should go check in on him? "

“D-do you…?!” Eiden’s joking tone goes right over Till’s head, and he sounds like he feels genuinely really bad—pained even.

“I-I… I d-didn’t know th-that…” Till hunches his shoulders forward, his voice coming out small.

“I… I’ve never had a phone b-before… or f-f-f-friends I didn’t go t’ school w-with… H-how much should I be callin’…? Once a w-week? T-twice? Not more than th-that, right? ‘Cause you’d get sick of m-me…”

" Hm? "

Eiden blinks as Till's word beging spilling out. It's more than safe to say he wasn't in on the joke.

" Hey, hey... Hold on. Hello? "

He waves his hand in front of his face.

" Listen I'll be fine! I mean, I still don't mind if you call whenever but I was just joking! "

" Sorry I thought you'd pick up on the tone... "

His brother's tenderness softened his heart, and for a moment, he forgot their situation. He nodded his head to his brother's question, unable to hide the blushing smile on his face. His brother had a way of reducing him to nothing but a child, the same way grandpa could, and for that he was grateful.

"I'm pretty sure," he answered, "my powers have been messed with," he added, and looked at his closed fist. "I've lost the majority of my strength." He went on to describe the feeling to his brother. For Yuuji, it felt like waking up after three to four hours of sleep. He was awake enough to get through the mundane routine built in his system, but not capable of diverting from that routine.

"I'll take the front, and you watch my back. If you see anything fishy, let me know." Yuuji concluded his explanation, then he tilted his head, "Y'know, we've been brothers for so long, and I don't know what powers you got." He had a vague recollection of something to do with the crystal hanging from Eiden's neck, but the details were lost on him.

" But not hurt.... That's good. "

Though that said, he's not relieved to hear they're gone. Their surroundings look totally strange too. He's wondering if their captors have an end goal here - glancing aroung there are no real proper clues to work with. Except for maybe the genre of ordeal.

" Is ... that space? "

Besides that part anyway. He mumbles that just barely audibly.

" ...all clear. "

Eiden agrees to Yuuji's direction pretty quick. He's glad not to be alone here. Though he does wish he could do more.

" But uhh. Nothing special really... " Eiden laughs, a little awkwardly, " just lots of essence which is sort of magical energy. Keeps me healthy, gives me better stamina, can do some other stuff too but right now I think I've only got my self-healing, though it's not ... as effective as healing spell would be haha. "

"Aha, but so am I, and I've been here longer. Raw physical strength matters none against the power of my Lute." Octavo smiles at him despite Eiden's hesitation. "And in any case, being killed has never deterred me from anything before. You underestimate my tenacity."

There's a basket of warm rolls on the table. He grabs one, ripping it in half. "Don't worry about him, though~ Let's enjoy the free food. Perhaps take a tour of the castle after."

" I'd rather you'd not get killed at all!" Eiden answers back, unable to no prevent his voice from raising.

" I mean, I know we can't keep from getting injured in a place like this but.. "

He's just worried, really. Just how reliable is that revive mechanism if it goes off from time to time. With a sigh he takes that roll, biting into it with vigor of the frustration he's trying to place somewhere.

"I sure did! You should visit sometime, but obviously not as a patient. I hope not to see you on an examination bed," Ilseong says with a friendly smile.

He takes a bite of his ribs. "Waa~. You weren't kidding. It's super good."

" Well, I've done roleplay in weirder places... ah, that's a joke! "

Not the part where he has though.

" But yeah I'll try not to get injured at least... "

" Right! Just perfect, I feel like I could stuff in a fifteen! "

"I know what a toy is." He answers as he reaches out to poke at it, curiously. Sure, he knows what toys are... Generally. But he definitely has no idea what this contraption is used for. He ignores the question on his health, turning his head back towards Eiden after a few more pokes at the Gigantica Plowess Exercise 2026.

"I know what toys are, but... What game do you play with this one?" It's quite unlike any puzzle he's ever been supplied with, but after all the culture shock he's already received since coming here, he doesn't find it strange that there's toys or puzzles that he wouldn't know how to use.

He's not prepared for the reply he's going to receive, though.

" Yes but this isn't a toy in the same sense puzzlegames and such are.... "

Eiden watches him continue poking Gigantica Plowess Exercise 2026. It has become pretty apparent that he will have to introduce the guy to the product properties. He doesn't know anything, that much is evident.

" They're for pleasure. "

He draws in breath takes his fist to stick his index finger onto for visualizing.

" You insert that inside you partially... and pull it back. And insert again until you cum.... "

" And uh. I guess that's it very basic and simplified? "

Though he already knows there are more questions coming.

Ismene nods as Eiden makes the connection. "Yes, many Angels do not look so kindly on the Fallen. It is not their fault that they do." She answers.

"After all, Fallen Angels usually mean that they gave in to temptation." Ismene continues. "Not quite demonic yet, but maybe there."

Ismene doesn't seem bothered by such a fact. 'I am just very fortunate that both I have met so far are reasonable."

She is grateful that neither Klaus or Aurelius seem to be interested in actively hunting her.

" So he can be reasonable huh. If he wants to. "

Eiden rolls his eyes a little.

" Can't say I know much about that sort thing though. And... "

" Not much point hunting anyone here if they're just going to revive anyway... Not to sound cold or anything. But I guess it's nice to end up here for a fresh start? "

He can't say it's like that for himself but he can't say he hates it here nowadays either.

"I may have run into him after the fact." Octavo reaches for a bottle of wine pouring it into his glass as he lowers his voice. "I tried to talk to him. I gave him a chance, tried to explain that he couldn't go around killing people without consequence. He didn't want to hear it."

He takes a sip, glancing up over Eiden's shoulder. "I hope he'll choose more wisely next time, but I'm not counting on it."

" .....well I'd have figured that one out without you telling me, in all honesty. "

He pauses there, hands pushing through his hair a little. He's not all that happy to hear this, if anything it just squeezes his stomach further.

" I think... there are lots of people here that don't operate by usual norms."

He sighs.

" ....I wish you didn't risk yourself for my sake though. I mean. I can tell the guy's strong. He's only limited for so long. "
