Josh Klinghoffer and Chad Smith are releasing two covers of T Rex songs for World Record Day 2019! The covers feature Josh on bass, guitar, and vocals and Chad on the drums. They’re gonna be available on a limited edition 7” vinyl (only 3,000 copies worldwide) and will be released on April 13, 2019

3) Three songs you’re recently obsessed with

Cherry Hearts, The Shins. This song is just so much fun and it’s so cute I absolutely adore it. I’ve always loved The Shins, but my love of this song is more recent.

Loving is Easy, Rex Orange County. I adore the orange tones and 70′s vibe from this song! Adorable lyrics too. I haven’t listened to much of his music but I’m 100% in love with this song.

We Need to Talk, Waterparks. I feel like this is a bit of an underrated track on Entertainment, but that could just be me. Either way this song manages to be fun and simple while still being an absolute kick in the teeth, and Awsten Knight just might be one of the best songwriters we’ve got in modern alternative music.

7) Three songs you didn’t expect to like but eventually loved

Whip It, Devo. This song used to annoy the hell out of me but the bass line is irresistible. Now it makes me laugh and I like dancing around to it.

Far Too Young to Die, Panic! At the Disco. I have a strange love-hate relationship with any new Panic music when it’s initially released. I thought this song was a total drag and it didn’t help that my favorite song is the next on the track list. Somewhere along the line I fell in love with it. Probably because Dallon Weekes wrote it.

Rio, Duran Duran. I could have put any song by Duran Duran here and it would have applied because I used to HATE them. In my defense I was eighteen, I was too into hardcore punk, and I didn’t know how to have fun. I like them now lol

23) Three songs that never fail to get you pumped up

The Man, The Killers. I promised myself I wasn’t gonna repeat songs, but I literally listen to this on my way to work to pump myself up and put myself in a good mood I fucking love that song.

NaNaNa, My Chemical Romance. Ever listen to this song while driving? Not a good idea. I’m surprised I haven’t gotten pulled over for speeding yet.

Power of Equality, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Do yourself a favor and fight a racist to this song. Make Anthony Kiedis proud.

The Man, The Killers. Lyrics addressing toxic masculinity set to a disco beat that makes you wanna cover yourself in glitter and dance around a dimly lit club in LA? Iconic. I would die for Brandon Flowers.

American Kids, Poppy. I almost didn’t put this on here because of the allegations against Titanic Sinclair (if you know then you know) and I definitely don’t support him anymore, but there’s something about this song that’s just so fucking genius. It’s relatable in the sense that it goes out of it’s way to not be relatable, and the sucker punch that is the last line still impresses me every time I hear it.

Choke, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me. I’ve been a fan of Dallon Weekes since he was in The Brobecks and while I appreciated his contributions to Panic! At the Disco, I always knew he could do so much more. The man is an incredible songwriter with a voice that just soars and it frustrated me for so long that he’s always been just on the brink of success. This was the song that gained him the recognition he deserves and I am so fucking proud of him.
