Met through Kiriko, who introduced some of the Overwatch Team to Yōkai when she asked for help about the Hashimoto. D.Va got along with everyone, along with the others, but Mizuki had a specific vibe to him that made her curious.
Mizuki had no idea who she is as he just hasn't been online at all, and has been too busy with the Hashimoto to keep up with famous people. D.Va actually kinda liked someone not just knowing her as "D.Va", but as Hana Song.
While D.Va's crush developed more slowly the more she got to know Mizuki, his crush was WAY quicker.
^ Mostly because D.Va joked about being a lucky charm for him since her whole things is rabbits, and even gave him a norigae that she had to help comfort his paranoia. He has been hard core crushing ever since. He's a sucker for anyone who's just a little bit more nice to him than the usual.
Whenever he was over at Overwatch's HQ, she would invite him to sparr with her just to hang out. Left that session with a LOT of mixed emotions on how she felt about Mizuki. ("What's the hurry, Hana?~" And she's folding immediately.)
D.Va is very slow to hints and flirts, and for a while it was almost painful when Mizuki would make an attempt to flirt and it fell flat on her. It was only when he finally was straight forward with her out of frustration that she got it.
D.Va does her best to be respectful of Mizuki's paranoia after he told her about his family curse. If he needs space or needs to get to somewhere safe, she's immediately on it. She'll do her best to help break the curse, and she promises that.
They tease each other a LOT. D.Va calls him cringe all the time and Mizuki is sassy right back to her reminding her how short she is. They fuel each other so much.
D.Va invites Mizuki to play games with her all the time, which the two get VERY COMPETITIVE WITH. Even if Mizuki doesn't have practice with it at all, he's still trying his damn hardest to beat her.
Big cuddlers. While Mizuki is not a big fan of PDA, at some point he was ALWAYS seen holding her when they're relaxing at base. Whether it was either of them staying in her room to sleep, or Mizuki holding D.Va while she's playing games so he can watch, they are touchy as HELL.
If Mizuki wasn't uncover, he would definitely allow himself to go with D.Va to events or appear on her streams. He's just worried what Talon or the Hashimoto might do to him if they spot him.
D.Va is always taking his hat to rage bait him, and only does it to him because she likes how pissy he gets about it. She thinks its adorable.
Related towards my headcanon about Hana being a biromantic asexual, but Mizuki, even if he's allosexual, is respectful and considerate of how she's feeling some days related towards some forms of intimacy (I'm keeping it as sfw as I can here folks). If she isn't in the mood, then he'll always back off. He maybe be mean and nonchalant but NEVER about her comfortability with being affectionate with him 🙏
Mizuki gets nightmares all the time about the curse or him being a double agent and Hana finding out. He explains them all as the curse to D.Va, but he knows some is more so the idea that he'll have to go against her some day. He would rather have the curse kill him than see D.Va's heart shattered because of where his alliances lie.
This is mostly a joke headcanon but I feel like because she's good at Among Us, she could sniff out Mizuki being a double agent.
Mizuki is absolutely scared about her trying to talk to him about something fearing it'll be her finding him out, but no it's literally just her showing off her gacha pulls or what they wanna do as a date later LMFAO.
