it’s a black t-shirt with bad graphic art of a wolf howling at the moon and it says “throw me to the wolves and I’ll come back leading the pack”. you know, the kind of thing boomer dads that imagine themselves protectors eat up.

one of my favorite bits in lord of the rings is something the movies didn't really try to do because it's entirely internal, but sam's carrying the ring and it starts trying to do its work on him, so he's having these intrusive visions of himself marching at the head of a vast and terrible army, and he just starts laughing because, me? samwise gamgee? sam gamgee the general sam gamgee the dark lord are you for real? man i just want to go home and do some gardening. and the ring gets frustrated and it starts trying to figure out other stuff that would actually tempt sam and it's finally like, okay, but hear me out: imagine if you could have...A REALLY REALLY BIG GARDEN

Oh boy now there's idiots complaining that the reason the new Stargate show got canceled was because the writers didn't make it woke. Obviously "Fresh new perspective" is code for amazon canceled it because they didn't put enough trans lesbians on it.

What I don't understand is how making a show that would only appeal to the existing audience is bad. seems to me like you'd have an audience built in from day one. What fresh New perspective really means is appealing to advertisers. Amazon would rather bet on a billion dollars then have a million-dollar sure thing. The old show was run on a relatively low budget and was great. get some decent writers a budget on par with the original shows, 20 episode seasons and alien planets that look like Vancouver and I guarantee people will eat it up. The People yearn for simple episodic science fiction shows. Stop trying to be the next marvel movie.

it’s very funny because Stargate was always woke and they didn’t seem to notice - literal second episode was about feminine liberation and bodily autonomy and the show also was quite unflattering to the US Military many many times. The REAL issue is them bringing in someone who isn’t a fan/doesn’t understand what made Stargate so great in the first place (cough cough like kurzman making Star Trek all cinematic and not understanding you’re supposed to CRITICIZE starfleet instead of glorifying it constantly. if I have to sit through another one of those speeches I will cry)

Stargate doesn’t need a giant budget it needs good writing and silly zat sound effects. and 20+ episodes a season. That’s the most important part.

Will update as I go through more seasons! Also I'm using the wiki for a Ha'tak holding about 2000 troops lmk if there's canon that disputes that lol
