⚠️****TRIGGER WARNING****⚠️ Mentions of miscarriage and an annoying attempt @ a social media “inspirational/motivational” post 3 years ago I had just experienced 5 miscarriages back to back and a week long ICU stay after developing sepsis from an emergency D&C surgery to remove “the leftovers” of a partial miscarriage of what were twins. Excuse my bluntness/lack of emotion, I’m trying to be brief and tbh, the trauma is still a very real and constant (daily) battle. Early 2017: I was 103lbs and the skinniest I had ever been. BLOOP suddenly I am blessed two healthy pregnancies back to back with babies born 14 months apart. 2 and a half solid years of either being pregnant and/OR breastfeeding. Early 2019: I was 200+ lbs (double my weight - yeah DOUBLE) I had 2 csections, vitamin d deficiency, PPD/PPA x2, gallbladder removal surgery, and post-concussion syndrome (from our car accident) all under my belt - and I was miserable. I avoided mirrors. My clothes barely fit. I loathed anything social and mostly, myself. So, yeah it’s 2020 and these are MY generic before & afters and MY lil clout story because well, I FEEL GOOD AGAIN. My strength is NOT defined by my size and weight but it has often reflected where I’m at in life...how I am. When I was growing up everyone always asked what I wanted to be when I grew up.... Up until I was in 5th grade I would say I wanted to be a singer. A girl I was partnered up with for a group project told me I needed to choose an “actual real CAREER” and that being a singer was not a job. I lost a few pieces of what was left of my childhood innocence that day. For the next 5 years I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian but only because I liked cats 🤦‍♀️ And then I wanted to be a writer and then a teacher and then ....happy. I always answered “happy.” But how does one know when they achieve what they perceive as pure and absolute happiness?
