Desi Tony Headcanons

- Would 100% immediately bond with Bruce over both science and all things desi

- His mom would make THE BEST idli + sambhar and that’s the only way to make him eat breakfast

- He loves loves loves eating Biryani and he has this desi aunti in NYC who loves him to bits who makes him the best Biryani ever and he cries tears of joy everytime she makes it for him

- Also, Bruce got bumped up into this “trusted few” list of people immediately when he made authentic, amazing /homemade/ Indian food (amongst other things of course)

- Indian Movies are his guilty pleasure the more illogical the better so he lovesss Action Movies

- FILTER. KAPI. (COFFEE) He LIVES for those and no machine can ever make filter kapi as good as the roadside tea shops

- He’s your typical second gen immigrant indian and lemme tell you his indian fam don’t care if he’s some hotshot CEO of a huge company, he better bring some Hershey’s back or what’s the use of him living in America

- He has a huuugeee extended family and they call him for every wedding in the family and he goes to every last one of them

- His Aunties are pissed he hasn’t settled down with a wife yet and there has been threats of Shaadi.com and Matrimony.com

- They didn’t like Pepper initially because she wasn’t an indian girl but once they met her they were immediately charmed by her bubbly kind personality and

raser sharp wit (the love in her eyes when she looked at Tony was the final nail in the box)

- The topic of his family was always bittersweet for Tony because he could never meet them often when he was younger (Howard didn’t like them and they didn’t like Howard) but now they made him feel welcome and he’s never had a family this big before

- He always gets discounts (despite being a billionaire) at the local indian food store

- He gets Mangoes shipped in from India every summer

- He can’t live without Lassi and Rose Milk and Panner Soda

- He looks amazing in Veshi Shattai and that’s a fact (And also in Kurtas)

- He comes back from every visit to India with so many pickles and homemade ghee, they won’t let him leave the country without it

- The Avengers love Indian Food because of Tony and Bruce and now it’s become one of their comfort foods

- Weekly Movie Nights quite often consist of shitty indian movies and sometimes amazing movies that keep them at the edge of their seats (they’re all fluent in Tamil and Hindi and a couple other Indian Languages thanks to this)

- They started watching one Nonsensical Indian Serial (TV show) one day ironically but now they’re invested in the story and they /can’t stop watching/

- Tony first did everything to stop people from knowing he’s desi thanks to Howard’s conditioning that they’re ‘lowlifes’ and how he ‘can’t be the CEO of the SI while flaunting all that’ but now he doesn’t give a shit and is proud of his heritage and the country

- He started a charity for Indian Girls to get education in his Mother’s name

-when he can’t sleep at night, he puts on early 2000s hindi films and watches them (his favourite is Kal Ho Na Ho)

-when he gets caught doing something he shouldn’t his fingers pinch the skin around his adam’s apple and he says “its not what it looks like i promise”

-his food is always spicer than everyone else’s and he still keeps mirchi (chilli) powder handy

-the first time somebody told him not to take the Lord’s name in vain, he responded “not my Lord”

-his mother ingrained in him the habit of touching the feet of his elders, and once as a joke, he did it to Steve just to watch Steve’s cheeks inflame

-whenever he accidentally bumps his feet on somebody else’s, he touches them and touches his eyes immediately. Once, he did it to Doom in the middle of battle without realising

-he has 3 seperate accents: his posh american™ accent for when he’s in meetings, his normal american accent when he’s around the Avengers, and his desi accent when he’s talking to his family back home

-everybody was surprised by how much he dotes on his maternal grandmother, and he once cleared out an entire week to go visit her because he heard her sneeze over the phone

Tony hate watches and cries to all KJ films, especially after bad breakups.

He also picks public twitter fights with Chetan Bhagat and literal trash bag Vivek Agnihotri.

He is bffs with Irrfan Khan and is friends with Deepika, Ranveer and Dhoni.

He has a sweet tooth as much as Bruce does and they always sneak off to Kolkata to eat all the mishti/mithai they can stomach. It usually ends up in them doing sugar-fuelled science. It’s disastrous.

On cricket, when India isn’t playing, he cheers on Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka out of desi solidarity whenever they play against Australia, South Africa and England. He picks fights on Facebook particularly by mocking England for losing an ODI or Test.
