The little doll waved at the stranger, smiling from stitch to stitch, “I was just setting up for a tea party,” Ann said. Her arms waved around a bit as she gestured back to the table; two empty chairs set up with plastic biscuits set on small gold and pink saucers. A bright pink tea-pot sat in the center of the table, freshly painted with a big daisy on its cheek.
“Would you want to join? Andy was supposed to come, but I can’t seem to find him anywhere. I certainly hope he hasn’t run into any trouble in the jungle gym-” She wrapped her arms around herself, glancing towards the playhouse window for a moment; but pepped back up within a second, “I’m sure he’ll be back soon, though!”

What was she going on about? “Whoa, calm down. I didn’t take ‘yer other eye! I naturally have these colourss on my hornss where I come from originally! And don’t…call me ‘lady’. It makess me uneassy.”
“I’m sorry- you’re right that was rude to assume of me-” The end of her feather duster lowered shamefully. But as fast as she was frowning, she was jumping around Soldan; much like a flea jumping on the back of a dog, “Oh, but what were you thinking! Beating up a man, what if you ruined his face- That would be awful-”
She cocked her head at her, squinting, “But what are you?” Niffty got up close to Soldan, pulling at different parts of her shirt and limbs, “I don’t think I’ve seen many people like you- Are you a bug- Demon? An alien from a war torn race that is so violent towards it’s own kind that you wonder how in the world they’re still even on the star map anymore!” Her dress puffed up as she jumped to look Soldan dead in the eyes as she questioned her - surprisingly serious sounding from her usually chipper tone.

Part of him thought she was exaggerating with how good she was saying his art was. Sure, he aspired to be a cartoonist once he grew up, but he’s still just a kid. His art still has a long way to go. His train of thought- previously focused on his art and the fact Ms.Snuggles was so admiring of it -screeched to a halt when he was asked to join her at her desk.
An art instructor leading him towards their desk- that idea brought back the memory of Mrs.Tweaser and her ‘demagination’ thing. Part of him became scared that would happen again, even though he knew that fear was irrational.
“Uh-” He started, voice going from cheerful to unsure. “-Sure.” He stood up to follow her, gripping at his drawing. He knew it wouldn’t happen again, but he couldn’t stop his heart from racing a bit.
She hummed at bit as she brought him back to her desk - trying to mask the uncomfort with a sweet tune; it had always helped her when she felt a bit scared. Ms. Snuggles went behind her desk, “Now, you just wait right there,” She said, waving a gentle hand.
Ducking down, she opened a drawer and pretended to rustle through it. But, in reality, she was circling her hands in a magical sort of way. A light pink bag of chocolates and goodies plopping itself in her palm. It had most anything a child could want, from chocolate bars to sours to small bags of cookies. Ms. Snuggles looked back over the desk, nose pressed against the wood of it for a moment.
Then she stood up, holding out the bag, “You know what they say! Every amazing-wazing thing must be gifted something nice back!” Ms. Snuggles beamed, “It’s the polite way to gift creativity, after all! Now pick, we have all the sugars and spices and everything nices in this bag!” Then addressing the class, “And I’ll be handing each of you one when you head out the door today, so don’t worry your little bitty heads!”

“Wowee, you sure sound strong- wait it wasn’t a man was it?” Niffty broke out of her shocked trance - mostly brought on by the sight of more mess she couldn’t even begin to decide where to start, “Was he cute? Single? Why would you hurt him-! -- I’m sorry, that was weird. You’re horns look like my eye- Did you take my eye?” Second after second the words came out of her like bullets from a gun as she darted from every possible angle to look over the other.
“You better give me back my eye, lady!” She said, producing a small feather duster and holding it up to her like a knife, “Hand it over!”

A bit of a smile found its way onto Rudy’s face- this sub really did like his ‘cartoon drawings’! Honestly, she was the first teacher he’d seen who could appreciate that cartoons are an acceptable form of art. Mr.Wilter hated when he drew cartoons.
“Yeah! I’ve been working on little details lately. It adds a little extra something into artworks.” The suggestion of love hearts gave him an idea for something subtle in the background… he’d been trying to think of something for the sky anyways- cloud-shaped hearts seemed like just the thing! “Actually- that gives me an idea!”
A pair of heart-shaped clouds are quickly drawn into the sky of the image, adding a little bit more of a cutesy romantic feel. Just what he was going for! He could almost hear Snap in his head, pointing out the clouds’ shape. That seemed to happen a lot with any sketch he drew of Snap. “There! Now it’s got the right feel to it!”
Standing back up straight, Ms. Snuggles pushed her glasses back up her nose; watching him draw out the cloud hearts with a big warm grin. Her heels clicked a bit - as her natural stance was a bit more of a sway, constantly moving from side to side; she liked the way it made her skirt dance around her ankles. Not only was she fond of cartoons, Ms. Snuggles practically breathed them back home - and this display of absolute creativity was making her heart grow ten sizes a second. Her hands twitched as she watched, holding back her urge to place as many heart shaped “A+” stickers as she could on his drawing.
Ms. Snuggles clapped her hands together as he finished, “Oh! That’s very good Rudy!” she said, “Most indeedily the most perfectest drawing I’ve seen. It’s so good - Oh!!” She made small hops on her feet, “Rudy, would you come to my desk with me - if that wouldn’t be a bother wother to you!”

A small campfire crackled up into the night sky - the still glowing pieces of ash dancing in a light steam; lifting out of a cast iron pot hung over the heat. Flames licking at the bottom of its belly and casting a warm smell of stew into the night air. The reigns to Knight’s horse jingled as he began to tie her to her post; he knew she wouldn’t leave his side, but the fear of losing her to a thieving monster still lingered in the back of his mind.
He sat by his fire, poking at it with the tip of his sword. A piece of the embers rolling over to breathe new life into the dancing flames. Knight sat back, sighing as he closed his eyes - listening to the different songs of the forest around him. A gentle owl’s lament from the trees, a babbling brook just beyond the bushes of berries; it was the earth’s way of snoring, and it brought peace to his ears more than any other sound could ever bring.
And yet, there was something off about it all. He tensed up, gripping onto the handle of his sword and sat up tall. Brow furrowing as he listened; his horse even lifting her head - with swiveling ears. Knight slowly began to stand, keeping his sword drawn.
“Who’s there?” he said, voice clear and demanding. He kept his back towards the bushes, but let his eyes very quickly dart to either shoulder; cursing at his blind spots as he did.
