Hard to find a better metaphor for Donald's "golden age" than his own "golden token" that contains no gold and is being resold for a fraction of the price people originally paid for it.
Not even a gilded age. At least something that's gilded has a tiny bit of gold on it.
It's the Pyrite (aka Fool's Gold) Age
It gets better…
Gold-Colored Metallic Pigment Age
Mica powder age.
Not even pyrite, just the soft glittery micro-shale like shit that you find around it. The shit that makes veins in other more desirable stones, and fucks up the ability for them to be polished. The key component of so much make-up, used to plaster over things we want to make appear more aesthetic, but which ultimately cannot improve anything beyond smearing glitter on it. A cheap pigmenting mineral with an inflated price.
It's the fucking Mica age
we dont even get 9/11 off of work. like i guess you were never THAT sad about it

found this nefarious cube in my home. going to incinerate it out of an abundance of caution.
I feel like I gotta point out -- this is hypervigilance, it's a trauma response, and it is not always right.
It can be very effective, and it can be really hard to learn to second-guess it, especially if you come from an environment where you couldn't check or trust people to be honest with you. But you have to learn to second-guess that instinct -- because it's not empathy, it's projection. You don't "know" what someone's feeling, you're assuming, based on an assumption that's kept you safe in the past.
If you trust your overtuned trauma response over the actual people around you, it will harm your relationships with them.

YOU go make ART and then REFUSE to EXPLAIN it because you already DID your job and now it's the AUDIENCE'S turn to MAKE MEANING out of the ART
okay mr lynch i will go and do just that as i fucking should
i feel like tumblr will appreciate this
my favorite thing about this post is all the "ea nasir" in the tags. I cannot articulate how hilarious it is to me that there is a well populated "ea nasir" tag on tumblr. PLEASE imagine going back in time and telling a babylonian conman that thousands of years in the future he's going to be spoken about across the entire world using unfathomable technologies on account of how truly shitty his copper was
I think he would impressed.
Oh it's awesome that oxygen is pale blue in liquid/solid forms that is exactly the color it should be. Everything works out
