WIP Wednesday: Mardi Gras socks
This is a pattern I wrote last year but hadn’t knit yet! I cast on on saturday and basically did nothing but knit all day sunday. So far I really love how they’re coming. I will eventually share the pattern once I’ve knit it through once.
I love how festive it’s knitting up. I hand-dyed my colors, too, so it’s all creatively mine, which makes me happy. Here’s my project page with details: link. Happy knitting, friends!

WIP Wednesday!
These are a christmas eve cast-on. It’s funny, I didn’t even check the gauge until I was 6 stripes in to the second sock, and it turns out it’s a lot tighter that I thought! The row gauge is the what I thought, though, and it still fits because I always check if the toe will stretch over my toes. That’s my method for checking the size – if the finished toes stretches to fit over my toes, then it’s got enough negative ease to be comfortable. However, it really should only have to stretch over the last toe, I think. That sock has about 2 inches of negative ease, and with the yarn floats in back, it makes it a tight squeeze around the leg. Oh well! They still fit. I figure they’ll probably just wear out faster, but that’s okay since that probably still gives me multiple years of wear. Better slightly too much negative ease than positive ease!
Yarn is Knit Picks Felici in “Sorbet”. Pattern is my usual toe-up recipe with the stripe patterning from “Geek Socks” by Wei S Leong. Project page: link. Knitty.com pattern: Link. I would definitely recommend this stitch pattern for self-striping yarns. It knits up very fast but is also more interesting to knit than plain stockinette! One of these days, I should just knit plain socks, but I never have and I have a feeling I won’t ever. It’s just not my cup of tea.

When you delete things off of a mobile device (like a phone or digital camera), the file goes to your phone’s recycle bin (just like on a desktop computer or laptop), typically an invisible folder named .trashes or .trash. There, it continues to take up the same amount of memory storage as it did before you ‘deleted’ it. To empty your mobile device’s recycling bin, plug your phone into your desktop or laptop via USB as a memory device, right click on your desktop/laptop’s recycling bin/trash, and tell it to empty your recycling bin/empty trash. Your computer will empty all .trash/.trashes folders, including the one on your phone, actually deleting the files permanently this time, freeing up your phone/camera’s memory space. (I know this works on MAC with my Andriod, it’s not too far a stretch to do the same on Windows and/or with other phones as well. In fact, it should be easier to do on Windows since Windows Explorer is more conducive to finding hidden folders.)
