*To ignite within girls and women the spark that inspires them to be their best and fullest selves, to discover their true potential, and to settle for nothing less. official glow* website - twitter - facebook Glow* was started by Julia Albain, Lauren Lopez, Denise Donovan, and Jaime Lyn Beatty in order to create community and inspire girls and women to be the best that they could. Glow* is a community for girls and women to share stories, thoughts, and challenges. This blog serves as an unofficial place (run completely by fans) to share and discuss what helps YOU glow. Check the official glow* website to check out some inspiration to find your glow, and post to your own blog with the tags "#glow*" or "#know your glow" or submit to this blog and we will publish it.
The way you have some posts that comment on different videos and things and are signed off, love Denise or love Lauren, I was wondering is that the actual girls or fans who have taken up those names? Love the blog by the way, keep glowing x

Your life comes in waves. Weāve all felt it. and with every wave there is a period of lowness, or rest. You can battle against that all you want, but that resting time, the times when maybe things are moving a little slower than youād like, is the time when you are gaining your strength and power for the season in which you will need it most.
Every once and a while itās important to shake things up in order to keep life interesting. For me itās a great lesson on the ephemeral nature of things: If you love something, let it go.
There are millions of people in the world and plenty of good to go around; someone else getting what they want or reaching a goal takes NOTHING away from you. In fact, it is something to be celebrated!
Recently Iāve had this overwhelming desire to get lostā¦all by myself. If only to come face-to-face with the concept of what being āindependentā truly means.
But perhaps what excites me most about the idea of getting lost is the potential for discovery that results.

I like how Lauren's post on Glow was titled, August 29, 2012
heheā¦but in all seriousness, it was a great post on learning from nature. Personally, Iāve always felt it incredibly calming to be near water. Something about how itās constantly moving and changing is quite relaxing.
Letās look at the rest of this weekās Glow* posts so far.
I love Juliaās post this week. I wish I had her contentment and peace. It seems Iām constantly worrying about the future and the uncertainty of things. Like, Iāll be moving into res on Sunday, and Iām anxious about how different things will be and managing classes, assignments, and work. I really want to remind myself of who I am in the midst of everything and maintain some peace.
Deniseā quiz was a great opportunity to get me to stop thinking about myself and start thinking about others, and also really being thankful for the things I have.
Everyone is dealing with something that makes them feel like a hot mess.
Wherever you go, whoever you meet, remember that weāre all in it. Letās let that notion bring us together! - Lauren Lopez
I just realized that I never shared this. Ā When I found out about glow*, I read through it and was amazed by how inspirational a lot of the posts were. Ā I loved it so much because I have been a fan of Starkid almost since the beginning, and seeing the glow* girls create something like this was just amazing. Ā
Glow* has helped me a lot when Iām feeling down, so I decided to go through all of their previous posts and compile a list of quotes from them that I really liked. Ā And, because I thought it would be a good idea to keep these quotes in a place where I would see them all the time, I made a desktop background for my computer using the quotes. Ā
I like how it turned out, and it really helps me to see these every day. Ā Whenever I start to feel upset about something, I just look at this and it makes me feel a lot better.
