The target selector arguments team=!TEAM, name=!NAME and type=!TYPE already let you do this.I think all kinds of target selector arguments should let you pick the inverse of the selection criteria. This would allow for awesome things like this. In the picture, I'm using the following command to display a message when someone's outside the bounds of the wool cube.tell @a[!124,!64,!719,dx=!3,dy=!3,dz=!3] You match the inverse selection Inverse selections couldhurt those who didn't reach some coordinates in time (x, y, z)let you make a level in a game with donut shaped bounds (r, rm)set anyone but spectators to adventure mode (m)give everyone but two people jump boost (c)keep anyone but those between level 20 and 30 out of an enchanting room (l, lm)keep everyone except those with a magic score between 40 and 50 out of a battle arena (scorename, scorename_min)return someone to survival mode after visiting a cuboid protected region (dx, dy, dz)the first point, except you have to look at a wall and look in the right direction (rx, rxm, ry, rym) via /r/minecraftsuggestions
EDIT: 8am: Whoa hello reddit front page. So many good questions overnight...cracking knuckles and diving in.11am - taking a break to do the whole working thing! I'll be back in a few hours. My short bio: I'm Melissa Anelli, and I've done an AMA here before about my work in fan communities. The topic of harassment, stalking, and bullying that happen online and then expand to offline seems to be reaching a turning point: I have also hit a turning point in how I deal with my own case. I have been stalked, harassed, and abused by the same woman for almost 6.5 years. It began digitally, and then began mushrooming into offline contact - a trip to my town, packages and messages and postcards sent to me and my family and friends, etc. She has used emails, contact through every viable method of digital outreach, as well as physical mailings to intimidate and threaten, and make near daily threats of rape and murder. After an FBI investigation and three arrests, my stalker is awaiting sentencing, and may be close to entering a plea deal that allows her to continue her campaign of abuse (for it has been proven that nothing but incarceration will stop her). I have resisted doing an AMA for a long time for fear she would join up and take part. But the issue and those that touch it are too important, and I'm hoping my case can help people understand why it is vital we work harder to stop this type of abuse.Outside of this story, I run the popular fan convention GeekyCon (http://geekycon.com) and GeekyNews (http://geekynews.com) as well as Harry Potter site The Leaky Cauldron (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org). I wrote a book about the Harry Potter phenomenon, served as a consultant on Pottermore, and am a board member of the HP Alliance (http://thehpalliance.org) as well as advisor on YouCoalition (http://youcoalition.tumblr.com).My Proof: NPR story from last Feb: http://www.npr.org/2014/02/23/281167415/fed-up-with-harassment-author-reveals-her-cyberstalkerNYPost from when she was arrested the second time: http://nypost.com/2013/07/18/harry-potter-and-the-deathly-wacko/My latest Tumblr update: http://penbitten.com/post/99597562281/so-it-seems-stalker-might-get-off-lightly-how-wouldHere's the proof of my identity I used for my last AMA: https://twitter.com/melissaanelli/status/357601620852359168 via /r/IAmA

Instead of: /clone x1 y1 z1 x2 y2 z2 x y z (clone command)You'd enter: /clone @e[score_a=1] @e[score_b=1] @e[score_c=1 (Target selector arguments. @e would be substituted with x, y and z of the entity)Or even better: /clone @e[score_volume=1,c=2] @e[score_dest=1]Every command that takes coordinates or sets of coordinates would use entities in an intelligent way. If there are sizes involved (e.g. /particle), the distance between the entities would be used instead of coordinates. This could be used to make custom maps more quickly. Or it could be used to make awesome world editing tools. Maybe new kinds of custom maps would be possible as well. Here's a mock-up in Minecraft, where I've given the armor stands 1stCorner and 2ndCorner "1" as their volume scores and the armor stand Destination "1" as its dest score. The result is the purple and black wool on the right side. via /r/minecraftsuggestions

Rant warning. And lots of claims by me. Sorry Dinnerbone, Mojang and Microsoft, I don't mean to be harsh, but I'm not satisfied with your PR regarding these matters at all. So Dinnerbone said he was going to update bukkit. But now it seems like he forgot he even said that. After the DMCA takedown request, Mojang's COO, Vu Bui said Wolvereness's allegations were wholly unfounded and that they were looking into a solution. But since then it seems like Mojang forgot bukkit even exists. So Microsoft aquired Mojang. Finally someone who can handle their legal matters properly. But no. It seems like the aquisition caused Mojang to forget they have a community, and Microsoft seems to be scared shitless that any actions at all will cause a huge backlash from the community. Mojang and Microsoft. Your silence is deafening. And your lack of action or even comment are most likely only making things worse.

If you don't intend to run a professional server and you've properly secured your home network and all its devices, you could forward port 25565 from your router to a computer where your bukkit server is running. If you're interested and haven't looked up the documentation needed already, ask and someone might point you in the right direction.
