Newt just shuts his eyes and squeezes them slightly upon feeling the rag on his cheek. The blood’s dried for hours at this point, so Thomas has to be sort of harsh.

“I think I’ll live.” Newt assures. He looks a little uncomfortable as Thomas leans in to continue, though. It's somewhat unnerving how calm he’s been the past twelve hours, but it's certainly not for a lack of caring. It gives everyone someone to lean on as the boys argue or panic. I suppose he knows that.
