YURI’S KATSUDON from ユーリ!!!Yuri on Ice
If people say that they are going to become a beautiful katsudon, how can I not make that katsudon? A sexy crispy layer, with much to chew on, and the warm entangling yolk… skating to the idea of a katsudon is true love indeed. Especially when it’s freshly made.
Ingredients:
½ cup rice, or however much rice you want to eat.
1 giant pork loin
Oil for frying, such as canola oil - enough to cover at least half of the loin when put in the pan.
1 egg for coating, beaten.
1 egg for cooking
1 egg for garnish
Flour - ½ cup
Panko Breadcrumbs - about ½ cup, but good to have more.
Oil, for frying
½ onion, sliced
1/8 cup green peas
½ cup dashi
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cooking sake
1 tbsp mirin
Method
1. Set the rice to cook. (That’s usually my first step for any rice dishes, actually.)
2. Pat the loin dry and coat it with flour, before dredging it in the egg, and then covering it with breadcrumbs.
2. Heat the oil for frying. It’s hot enough when you stick your wooden chopsticks in and see bubbles forming around it.
3. Gently fry the pork on both sides.
4. Meanwhile, saute the sliced onions until slightly transparent.
5. Add the dashi, soy sauce, mirin, and sake to the onions, and set to simmer slowly.
6. Remove pork when cooked, drain, and slice.
7. When the onions are fully transparent, pour the beaten egg for cooking and the peas onto the onions, then lay the pork cutlet on top. Cover pan and cook until the eggs and peas are cooked.
8. Carefully crack the last egg over the cutlet, and cover the pan so that the heat cooks the egg till a soft-boiled consistency.
9. It’s going to become a super tasty katsudon, so watch it carefully.
10. Put some rice in a bowl, and gently slide everything over it. Break the yolk so that it covers the cutlet like a see-through skating costume.
11. Serve with pickles and miso soup and use it to ensnare unsuspecting Russian skaters.

Who Yuuri blew that kiss for
So I’ve seen people saying that it was for Victor and people saying that it was for the judges and I was really confused. But today I watched episode 8 again and I think it’s clear for me now?
Tbh when I first watched the episode I assumed it was for the judges (in fact I was quite disappointed that it wasn’t for Victor lol). I mean every time Yuuri made gestures like this in previous episodes we got Victor’s reaction, so that was pretty clear. But this time, Yuuri blows a kiss…
… and we get to see the reaction from the judges, not from Victor.
Personally I thought that blowing the kiss to Victor would be quite more defiant, given that he’s trying to show his love to the whole of Russia, but I could also accept him blowing the kiss to the judges as a rebellious gesture or something.
But then again if you pay attention to his location, you can see he’s not facing the judges…
… who are behind him right before he blows the kiss:
To face them he would have had to turn his face backwards/to his right… but he turns his face to his left:
So yeah guys definitely not looking at the judges. We get to see their faces because they are surprised, not because it was meant for them.
Still, Victor’s location is not very clear. In fact, I wasn’t able to locate nor Victor, nor any of the other coaches/companions during Yuuri’s, Yurio’s or JJ’s performances (I think they just didn’t bother to draw them in the background lol? idk). Anyway, we get to see where they are right before and after the performances, and I think we do get some clues to know where they are supposed to be.
If you pay attention to the background (although it’s blurry most of times) you get to see that all the gates of the ice rink have a letter (A, B, C or D) and a number (1, 2, 3, and so on). So the gates behind the judges are all A-something, and the progression of numbers and letters goes from left to right:
If I’m not mistaken, skaters get into the rink from Wall B, which is also from where coaches and companions watch their performances. Therefore, this is also where Victor is:
Considering the location of Gate C1, Gate B2 should be right behind Victor.
Also, when Yuuri finishes his performance, we can clearly see Wall D behind him. Considering the arrangement of the rink, we know that what’s opposite to Wall D, and therefore right behind Victor (and Yurio), is Wall B.
So, getting back to Yuuri’s position when blowing the kiss, if his back is turned to the judges (Wall A) and therefore his body is turned to Wall C…
… when he turns his face to his left, to the direction of his left shoulder, he’s facing Wall B. He’s facing Victor.
So yeah, guys. No kiss for the Russian judges. The kiss was for the Russian boyfriend Victor.
Tbh I’m slightly perplexed by Yuuri’s parents when it comes to skating. Their son is arguably the top Japanese skater. And his room looks like this:
So how does Toshiya not recognize Victor??? (even if he’s more into soccer)
Meanwhile, Hiroko jumped straight to Vicchan within hours of meeting him.
That is really informal for a guest at the inn.
UNLESS Hiroko has had to put up with years of Yuuri hero-worshipping Victor, giving him pocket money to buy posters and magazines of Victor, cleaning his room and going “Oh, look, Yuuri has put up another poster of Victor”, dealing with his sudden desire for a poodle (because come on, parents are usually the ones who actually take care of pets), smiling along as Yuuri gets all excited and shiny-eyed watching Victor skate on TV, listening bemusedly as Yuuri rambles on and on about Victor’s skating “first he did a quad loop, then he did a lutz, then…” while having no clue what her son is saying but only that he is happy.
Which will explain her expression after The KissTM.
She may know nothing about skating but she knows her son. And she knows what makes him happy.

Footfetish confirmed
Episode 8 inspires me so much to draw Viktor kisses Yuuri’s foot, and also want to see many Victuuri fairy tale AU. Hmm... Maybe I should draw. Maybe...
Yuuri Katsuki is becoming a queen.
Kubo confirmed Victor and Yuri kissed and yes, it was their first kiss. In the tweet you can see above she said something like “Is it just me or something synchronized with Nigehaji this week?”.
Nigehaji is a current airing drama on Japan, the main characters just kissed for the very first time. She was subtle but clear enough to make us understand the message. Love wins, people!
“ You don't have to say anything. Just stand by me! ”
When Yuuri cries please hug him, Viktor.
