i heart sukuna . . .
growing up with sukuna and yuuji is like . . .
a pain. maybe from sukuna mainly, but it's still a pain with yuuji as well, nonetheless. you all grew up horribly, but at least you three had each other to depend on instead of your parents. yuuji and sukuna's parents were dead to begin with, and yours just simply didn't give a shit about you. you could be sniffing hard cocaine and they wouldn't turn an eye.
with sukuna being the oldest, he's the only one who's capable to rent an apartment. it's not the best of course, but it's livable. he'd force you both to go to school because he didn't want the both of you to turn out as drop-outs just like he did. he's going to work on his ged once he knows you're all at a decent state of living.
he makes his money by drug dealing. he's a pothead, so it makes sense in the first place. sukuna makes sure to keep it away from the both of you though, specifically you. he doesn't want any of his bad habits to lead onto the two people he cares for the most.
yuuji would be in different classes than you only because he's a year or two older. the only class you both have together is gym, and he makes sure to hang out with you in that class because he knows you get insecure when he's able to show off his super strength so easily when you have nothing compared to him. at least you're able to help him tutor, because the poor boy is awful at math.
"yo, y/n, you wanna go get ramen after school?" he would ask you while everyone was doing the mile run. you and him managed to finish since you both chose each other as partners, so at this point you two were just walking the track. "yes, i'm so hungry... we ran out of snacks at home!"
"oi! you know it's not good to eat so much junk food, right?" he teased. you'd roll your eyes. yuuji was very caring, and he would make sure you ate enough nutrients that you needed.
sukuna would be the one to pick you guys up and drop you guys off to school. if he was too caught up in his work, you'd just walk home. the both of you couldn't come home without one another or else he'd be pissed off. you guys stayed together for a reason, and the risk of losing either of you scares him.
"wheres y/n?"
"she stayed after school..."
"and you fucking left her? take your ass back there and grab her."
"but-"
"hurry the fuck up yuuji."
"oi, brat, wheres yuuji?"
"oh, he joined the weight lifting club-"
"did you both forget what i told you? i'm not opening this door until i see the you two together. get out of the house, now."
yeah, he's very harsh on you guys sometimes.
but he can be fun though. of course sukuna has such a big soft side for you guys, and i think he'd have it out for you the most since you weren't exactly related to him like how yuuji was.
you wanted to go hang out with friends first? he had to meet them beforehand.
a boy asked you out on a date? he's shutting that shit down as soon as you mentioned it.
somebody picked on you? he's getting on yuuji's ass for not stepping up.
"your brother is so cute~" one of your friends would whisper, watching as he drove out of the parking from the mall he dropped you off to. "yuuji looks just like him, wow!"
"trust me, he's so annoying..." you would mumble under your breath, rolling your eyes at the many irritable moments you had with sukuna.
you were still thankful for him though, he was the one giving you and yuuji allowances throughout the week.
new message from: sukuna
sukuna: i'm coming to get you at 8:30 and you better be outside by the time i get there
y/n: wait but we were gonna head to a restaurant at that time. can i please stay until 9 at least? i'll eat fast
sukuna: no
whatever rules sukuna goes by, the both of you have to as well.
sukuna: fine. yuuji's going to pick you up instead
y/n: okayyy thank you love you
Sukuna has read your message
when yuuji picks you up in sukuna's car, the both of you may had came home a bit late that day. yuuji had so much fun drifting in sukuna's car, doing donuts in empty parking lots is something you'll always remember and cherish.
holidays are always so fun with them too. christmas? expect sukuna to spoil the shit out of you two with the big stash of money he's been putting away for the past year. this was literally the reason why you guys finally managed to move out of that shitty apartment and into a decent two story home that had it's own garage and backyard.
drug dealing is not so bad as it seems, you think to yourself. but you know you're only saying that because it's the only way you guys manage to make a living so far. once the both of you and yuuji finally meet the age requirement of getting a teen job, sukuna forces the both of you to find one.
"i'm tired of seeing your lazy asses stay home. go make yourselves productive and make some money."
you and yuuji end up working at some fast-food restaurant, and what makes it funnier is the amount of bullshit the both of you do together at the place. from the amount of tik toks you guys do in the kitchen, to the amount of trolling yuuji does to the ignorant customers who are way too far up their ass to admit that they were in the wrong, you were surprised that you guys haven't been fired yet.
"this is why you're working at a fast food job you pink haired bitch!" the customer would tell yuuji.
"if that's the case then why the hell are you eating here, loser?"
has comebacks for days. yuuji never got fired that day because your guys restaurant is desperate for workers.
you were at least happy you were able to buy yourself stuff to decorate your own room. you were never able to do that at the apartment, so why not do it now?
[super fun people except for sukuna group chat!]
y/n: goodmorning beautiful people + sukuna and yuuji 😍
Sukuna has read your message
yuuji: wtf the only other person in here is u
y/n: yes exactly
Y/n has sent three attachments
y/n: isn't my new room so *chefs kiss*
sukuna: ew
yuuji: is this what u were working on all night
y/n: yes
yuuji: oh.. um...
yuuji: i mean wow!.. it's so.. nice 😍
y/n: u guys can go to hell
sukuna is probably the biggest hater of anything you guys want or do. there was one time where he made fun of yuuji for actually owning a life sized jennifer lawrence cut out cardboard in his room.
"what the fuck is this incel shit i'm looking at?"
"get the hell out if you're just gonna laugh at my room, asshole!"
"i need to wash my eyes out after seeing this garbage."
there was also a time where you begged him for a cat. key word: begged.
"kuna look," you would tell him without your eyes leaving the laptop screen. he'd look over then retort his gaze automatically after taking one glance at the screen. "no."
"i didn't even say anythi-"
"y/n, no."
"but they're getting rid of the kitties! please, at least just one!"
"why, so it can eat up all my fucking plants? no. don't ask me again."
he did not even manage to budge even when you made a whole slideshow on why you should own a cat. yuuji, acting as the side host, would help you switch to different slides to navigate.
it was a cute effort, he would think. but it still was a huge no.
but remember when i mentioned christmas? of course your wish list with the bolded word of "CAT" won him over at last, so after he handed over yuuji a pair of keys as his gift to him which had meant he bought him his own car for christmas, he walked outside the room for a quick moment before walking back in, a fuzzy furball in between both of his large hands.
"oi, make sure you take care of this shit, brat. i don't want to see it near my room ever-"
"sukuna, you really got me a kitty?! really?! oh my gosh, i love you so much!"
he's really not expecting of the amount of tears and hugging you and yuuji both give him, but once he realizes they're both out of happiness, he gives in, letting a small smile plaster onto his face with his arms wrapping around the both of you.
"i love you two more, assholes. now get off of me."
yeah, growing up with sukuna and yuuji was something you never complained about.

megumi: shut up
he loves her.
he loves everything about her.
she was warm. she made him feel loved. made him forget about the abandonment issues he faced every night when it indulged him in his sleep. made him forget that he had a last name that belonged to his mother, the woman he had never met.
megumi loves y/n.
she was sweet. she was so nice.
it could be one in the morning, and just the simple text of what are you doing? would be responded to in the blink of an eye. he was whipped. he was whole with her.
y/n: what are u doing gumi??
megumi: thinking of you
y/n is typing . . .
y/n: really?!???!
megumi: yeah
y/n: come to my dorm!! i'm watching ratatouille!
megumi: okay
he would watch all of the disney pixar movies in the world with her if it meant she would continue smothering him, basking into the presence of her warmth. he loved how she smelled just like how she presented herself. fresh out of the shower, her strawberry scented shampoo lingering off of her hair. he could even smell the non-scented body wash on her sensitive skin, he enjoyed how fragile she was in certain places of her character.
it made him feel protective.
he wanted to protect her. she knew the power she held over him, and did not bother to abuse it.
"do you think someone like that exists? like, a rat that can cook?" she spoke into his chest, eyes fixated on the television in front of the lovebirds. he mumbled into her head, one of his long arms in the back of his head as the other wrapped itself around the girl, slender, pale fingers twirling around the ends of her hair. "if curses can speak, why can't a rat." it had sounded more like an answer than a question.
"oh my gosh gumi," she would dart, retorting her eyes away to look back up at him for a quick second giggling. "you're so right! i totally forgot curses can speak. duh! silly me."
he loved that about her.
he enjoyed how opposite she was from him. every yin needed a yang. her run on sentences responded to by his one word answers. her cheery mood compared to his introverted actions. her ability to keep a conversation with five people at a time as he stood across the room, his eyes on her every second they were there.
y/n would be the death of megumi fushiguro.
he only hated it when she was sad.
he didn't enjoy it when she would cry. not when he felt like it was always his fault for something he didn't do. he hated when she would get hurt. if he really loved her, he would've prevented it from happening in the first place. even if it was as small as a simple paper cut.
he did not like the idea of her blood being visible to the human eye. it hurt him more than it showed.
megumi: are you almost finished with your errands
y/n: mhm
megumi: let me know when you're coming over
y/n: i don't feel like coming today. ily
he hated it when she was so terrible at telling him how she was feeling.
he hated it so much because they both knew that he could read her like a book. the shortened affirmation bothered him more than it should've, and he knew she only made a half ass comment because she was feeling down.
megumi: alright. i love you.
megumi was patient with her.
he didn't push it if she didn't want him too, and it's what drew her to him even more.
y/n loved megumi. there was nothing in this world that she wouldn't do for him.
y/n: ): when u do that it makes me feel bad
y/n: can we pls watch wall-e when i come over
the two loved each other. they didn't need to tell one another for them to know. it could be said through their actions. by the way she took care of him after a mission. the way he comforted her after watching a sad scene. where she fed him when he had a fever.
megumi: i'll do anything for you
it was undeniable that he was truly whipped.
but it was all for her.
it wasn't unusual for megumi to go weeks without talking to you. it was easy for him to ignore you. neglect your feelings and push it aside.
lets face it, he's a very introverted person with a cold demeanor. loneliness is what he's used to because it actually helps him focus on what he prioritizes. you, being on the bottom of the list (as if you were even on it in the first place), hurt your ego as his significant other.
this was no way to treat someone you love. someone you've been dying to be with. you can't even remember how you both came to terms with telling each other about your feelings due to how easily he brushed it off every-time you brought the memory up.
you were so hurt. his spark in his eyes whenever he saw you was never there and you never understood why it took you this long to figure it all out.
"gumi, do you remember what day it is today?" you would ask him, both hands clasped together in excitement as he continued to stare up at the billboard in genuine interest. the both of you had went on a night walk in the city, boredom reaching it's maximum to the bring with each other. he wouldn't have responded as expected and would continue to ignore your gaze. as a final response he'd say "no." not bothering to ask what was so special about today.
you would shrug it off with your heart hurting in your palms, telling him nothing important. you'd think he'd remember at least one time out of the entire day that it was your birthday.
maybe that was the second red flag you have ever came to terms with besides the light in his eyes. you wouldn't be surprised if your mind had coerced you into thinking he still felt the same way he did when the both of you started dating.
this had been the last straw. it had also been the last time he had heard from or seen you.
it was unexpected and strange. the room was never completely quiet the way he liked it because you were always there, on his bed either scrolling through your phone or humming to the beat of a random song going off in your headphones while he sat at his desk across from you doing homework.
something you didn't take responsibility of, he'd notice.
he'd also notice the way you would take his name out of your instagram, tormenting him with keeping it on there after he had saw it on your page a few days after you did it, telling you to take it off because it was 'pointless and stupid' in his eyes.
megumi missed it now.
there was no reason for you to remove him off of snapchat, and out of all the things you made very public you even went back to putting single as your relationship status on facebook.
god, everybody knows old people cannot go without that app. so for you to even have him as your relationship status on there is such a big win win for anyones partners family. what is your parents gonna think of him now? as some kind of douchebag who never actually loved their child?
because that's exactly what he was. and it sucked.
megumi: why aren't you talking to me, i can't tell if we're breaking up or not
Your message has not been delivered.
so you had been serious about this.
you couldn't be, right?
megumi said he'd be sorry and apologize. he'd finally start remembering your anniversaries, important events you needed him to attend with you, he would finally remember the names of your pets once again. he promises he'll buy you the birthday gift you've been dreaming of and he even promises to prioritize your birthday the week before because thats how pathetic and miserable he feels after puzzling the pieces together and realizing that fuck, he really let you slip past his fingers and he hadn't even notice till now.
they had always said opposites attract. fire and water, moon and sky. so why was it so hard for him to get along with you like you could with him?
he'd miss your scent. the flush on your cheeks whenever he would catch you staring at him. the unnecessary attention and compliments you'd smother him with along with the pecks all over his face. you would spam him with love messages, his response only being a thanks or an love you too. he doesn't know how you put up with it for so long.
he shouldn't have let you done that.
it's not megumi, it's gumi he'd tell himself. he hated that stupid nickname you came up with only because of how infatuated he was with it coming out of your mouth. he hated remembering the little things about you because everywhere he went now, he couldn't stop thinking about how you would always adore the stray cats both of you would walk by or how you loved going to the gas station with him at three in the morning just to by some more binge food.
it was a good reminder of how much of a terrible boyfriend he was. no matter how much he tried to forget you like how he did during your relationship, he couldn't.
megumi couldn't lie. he missed his annoying ass lover. and there was nothing he could do about it, because at this point, you wouldn't want him back.
you deserved so much better, and megumi had finally came to terms with agreeing.
so after six months of grieving of a tragic heartbreak he had no idea he was going through, he let you go.
"alright boys, next practice is friday before the big same. if any of you are late, i'm sitting your asses on the bench. got it?"
"yes coach!"
"damn right. now you sweaty fucks need to get out of my damn gym!"
itadori was never really scared of the fact that his best friends father was his basketball coach. megumi being on the same varsity team made it training harder, only pushing toji to strive further with his high school team. for the past three years, they've won each state championship and with the duo coming to the end of their high school years, they just had to win this final game. it would be a record.
"that was the worst training i feel like we've had," megumi mumbled under his breath being the first to break the silence in between the two as they stood infront of the water fountain, itadori downing the liquid till his heart contents as megumi wipes the back of his head with a hand towel. "i've never felt so numb in my damn life."
"hmm," itadori spoke, wiping his mouth with the back of his arm before going to pick up a hand towel as well. "your dad is harsh man. he takes one mistake and blames the fuck up on all of us." this had made the lad scoff in agreement. "i'm gonna start heading to the steak house. you coming?" itadori nodded, grabbing his phone before throwing his towel over his shoulder. "yeah. i'll meet you there. gotta get changed."
"don't forget your wallet. you're paying this time."
"okay broke boy," the pink haired boy spoke. "relax. i always make sure to cover." megumi rolled his eyes, making his way out of the locker room and towards where the both of them had planned to start heading after practice.
it was a normal thing that was held between the both of them. itadori labeled it 'bro time' whenever they finished practice every week. they were obviously very close despite the difference in personalities.
after changing back into a casual attire he had packed for the rest of the day, he was ready to go. itadori had spotted megumi's phone laying on the side of the lockers, cursing him for forgetting something so important to the event. "damnit. he's the one that made reservations."
with one of his hands clutching onto the phone and the other with his wallet, the tall boy jogged down the hallway with no remorse of being cautious. it was after school hours and most of the security would have already clocked out, so naturally he felt as if he really had no worry to be scolded about running down the halls until-
"watch where your going, jerk!"
"crap," he spoke too soon. itadori stared down at the girl who he hadn't felt bumped into, herself passive-aggressively picking up the papers he made her drop. "i'm sorry," he continued. "i didn't mean t-"
"i don't care. shouldn't it be common sense not to run down the halls? douchebag.." she spoke, her eyes shooting daggers into his soul as he continued to help her. he let out a nervous chuckle, scratching the back of his head with his free hand. "yeah, thats my bad. i need to stop that habit."
ignoring his response, she had snatched her papers away from his hands as soon as she had the oppurtunity. "now if you'll excuse me, i'm going to be late for my studies."
"school is over. you know you can relax a bit, right? who has studies at the end of the day?" he asked her with genuine confusion. this pissed her off even more, his presence already adding on. "none of your business, you dork! shoo already!"
"i'm the dork when you're the one... studying during after hours?"
if looks could kill he told himself internally. her e/c eyes held its dark gaze, if one could tell she was already mad it would've bursted her bubble even more. "do you even remember my name?" she spoke.
"am i supposed to?"
"ugh you-! i can't even look at you right now yuuji!"
"you're making me feel bad. have we met before?"
the girl huffed, turning her heel. this conversation had been done for her a long time ago, even before they had bumped into each other. clearly itadori's brain was as small as rocks if he couldn't even remember the simplest things. fuck, now he felt terrible. her face looked familiar, and so did her aura, but just where could they have been seen together? and then it clicked.
"wait!" he called out, the spark in between his eyes lighting up. "y/n, right? you were my math tutor."
"congratulations!" she spoke, turning her entire body around towards him once again in between steps. "you finally got something right for once instead of any of the questions on your calculus quizzes. you really hit the jackpot there, didn't you?"
fuck. now he felt really bad.
he understood why she had been so pissed at him throughout this entire interaction. usually people would just tell you, "not a problem" or either completely ignore you if you had bumped into someone, but she had every reason to feel sensitive towards his actions. the last time they had both talked, itadori had completely blew her off that day, pretending that he was too sick to go anywhere with her after he told the poor girl he "owed her for helping him get his grade up" when in reality he had been out with his friends that entire day.
she only knew because she caught him across the street from the bookstore she asked him to meet her at that day. only a fool would lie his way out and stroll around the most obvious street.
as she became collective, y/n realized that she had been wwsting more time. not giving him anymore chance to think, she had already been walking further down the halls, continuing where she left off.
"wait, y/n i'm sorry!" he softly yelled, slightly jogging towards her fast paced walking. "let me make it up to you, please!"
"by doing what, itadori?" ouch. last name terms. he sighed. "i should've never lied to you, i don't even know why i did in the first place."
"whatever. can i get to my studies now?"
"give me a second, please." he had practically been begging at this point. she tapped her foot rapidly, both arms crossed over her chest in an irritable manner. "i know how much you love reading, however, i do not. if it's not manga, then i'm not interested. thats the only reason why i bailed on you and i'm really sorry for that."
the girl looked up to him, a hint of hurt in her eyes. "you know you could've told me, right? instead of lying? we could've just gone somewhere else instead."
"now that you mention it i really could've done that, i just don't know why i never thought of that in the first place." he spoke more into a mumble with his hand rubbing the back of his neck, red flushing onto his face. the gesture made her feel just a bit better. "can i take you out for real this time, please? i'll pay. it's the least i could do."
she sighed. he seemed genuine throughout this whole conversation, and she swore that if he had let her down once again she'd hunt him down and end him in his sleep. "fine. not today though, you're literally keeping me from my studies."
"okay dork," yuuji teased. she groaned out of annoyance, continuing towards the classroom that she should've been in for the last twenty minutes that had gone wasted. "have fun studying, nerd!"
megumi was definitely going to be pissed at him for not being on time, again.
"just leave your shoes at the door," the ten year old boy mumbled. "my person gets mad when people have no manners for his house."
"your person?" she responded. "do you mean like... your dad or something?" she pried curiously, big eyes roaming around the empty walls and spacious area of her study partners home. without looking back at her while leading the daisy towards the living room, he shook his head. "my dad passed. this guy is my caretaker."
she nodded, not pushing the conversation any further because her parents had always taught her about manners and respecting peoples privacy. "sorry if i asked too much.... just tell me to shut up whenever, okay?" the small boy, known as megumi, finally turned his gaze towards her. "i'm not gonna do that y/n. i'm fine with whatever questions you have." the poor girl smiled at his response with her eyebrows creased into a frown, accepting his answer. "lets just get to finishing the science project and then you can go back home."
"of course!"
it continued until sundown. with the fatigue overpowering the young girl, she yawned which caught the attention of her friend that sat beside. "sleepy?" he asked, staring at her with his scissors and glue in hand. she nodded, rubbing her eyes. "go home. we can finish tomorrow before recess." she mumbled back a scrunched up reply to which he could understand that she was agreeing with him.
after packing up the materials and cleaning the table they had been working on for the past three hours, he led the girl towards the front of his door out of respect. following her behind, before she had tried to place her hand on the doorknob, a sudden voice had-
"whats this, kid? you bringing a girl home already?"
"s-shut up!" megumi stuttered, the flare of red already being present on his cheeks as a strange white haired man continued to giggle at his teasing. he had knew who the girl was already, the familiar face crossing his mind when he came across her family. "y/n, yeah? going home?"
"how did you-"
"i'm good friends with your parents! they tell me all about you, i'm glad to see megumi has you as a friend out of all people. everyone at his school is scared of him." the man known as gojo continued to tease at his small student. the boy just stood there with a huff. the girl nodded happily, and has she continued to say her goodbyes the small memory that had been held in the back of his head for the last seven years had brought him out of his trance.
"you know, you should probably just go talk to her instead of watching her like a freak."
the now freshly young adult sent the older man a glare, the white haired lad never changing throughout the years. megumi turned his head back towards the familiar stranger. "it's been so long. i don't think she remembers me." gojo shrugged. "you wouldn't know unless you talk to her~"
megumi contemplated on the idea. he doesn't really remember the last time he talked to her, maybe it was before graduating elementary? she moved more closer to the outer city, her parents complaining that rent had started getting obnoxiously high. he didn't blame them, but every now and then he did still think of her. she was genuinely the only person besides satoru who understood where his background came from.
she was currently buying flowers from an outdoor shop, and while his gaze went unnoticed she continued her path down towards the exit of the area, megumi's questions on if he should see her or not had shortened to a much more limited time.
"welp, i'm going to walk the other way to avoid your embarrassment. have fun kid." gojo then continued his way into a small boba shop, leaving megumi to fend for himself in the middle of his small childhood crisis.
"tch." the spiky hair boy turned his head away, making his decision as final walking towards where she had been headed. getting the feeling that someone was following her, it wasn't too much off until she turned her head and met figure with the person she had buried in the back of her brain.
"gumi?-"
"y/n," he interrupted accidentally, his breath catching up to him when it was caught in the moment of being closer to her face. "....hey. it's been awhile,"
she let out a small laugh at his current state of surprise. it made his heart flutter. "it really has been, how have you been?"
he continued to stare at her. loss for words, the boy stood dumbfounded. "are you okay?" she asked out of genuine concern. megumi shook his head slightly, ruining his own thoughts.
"i'm sorry," he said, flustered, "it's just... you're really pretty." he turned the slightly shorter girl into a blushing mess. "d-don't just say things like that!"
megumi let a small smile fall onto his face. pretty girl. "if you're not busy, do you want to come with me to eat somewhere? i don't mind paying for you." she felt content and nodded to his proposal. "i'm guessing this is a date, yeah?"
he shrugged. "only if you want it to be."
and so it was.
"kuna, turn it up louder!"
he scoffed at her enthusiasm, yet finding himself obliging to her demand. with one hand on the steering well and the other set on the armrest, his chin in between the pads of his fingers, his lover let the forceful wind blow throughout her hair as the car drove faster accordingly to speed limit. he would glance at her every now and then, careful to keep his gaze on the road while basking in her happiness.
he wished for this to never end. he was happy where life was. the date he took her out for had went accordingly to plan just like every other weekly outing he treats her to out of his offers. sukuna was in love with her and everyone knew it more than she did, the girl was happy with where they were at. she would've never wished for anything else.
"watch your head stupid girl," he spoke to her, carefully switching to the next empty lane so she wouldn't accidentally hurt herself enjoying the car ride. she giggled, sitting back into the car fully while rolling the window back up. she looked up at him, his posture still remained the same as she tapped onto his arm, signaling to hold her hand with his free one. the man rolled his eyes playfully, giving in because he could never say no to her beautiful smile.
"i love you so much, kuna." she spoke, placing small kisses all over their interlocked fingers. "so, so so much my baby." he gave her a gentle squeeze in response. "i love you too y/n."
the man awoke.
and as he turned to his left and right, feeling the empty spaces cold and sorrow, taking in the idea of being on a hospital bed with wires attached to his body. it was a dream, he forgot. he was still dreaming.
the car ride never lasted, and neither did her heart beat.
and so he screamed, crying for her to come back into his embrace and beating himself up for ever driving her throughout the late nights. now he understood why everyone had always judged him throughout his past years. why they labelled him a curse, yet it was her who stayed throughout the ignorance and hurt he faced consistently.
it was her, who made him feel loved. if he wasn't so busy staring into her beautiful eyes that night, watching how the shining moon turned down onto her smile, then maybe, just maybe, he could have saved her from flying out of the windshield, saving the both of them from crashing into the pole, saving her from losing her life, saving what he loved most.
now he understood why they hated him the most.
ryomen sukuna was a fucking monster, and there was no way to replace the way he felt without knowing you weren't skipping another heartbeat because of him.
"you're my favorite person, i won't lie." he mumbled under his breath with the cigarette in between his index and middle finger. "but if i'm going to be honest, i don't want anything serious out of this."
you gulped. you prepared yourself for this rejection, for him to tell you that he wasn't ready, for him to let you down completely humiliated. you nodded along his words, not bothering to return his gaze he gave you for a split second.
his smoking got worse. you would have never thought the same boy you knew during grade school would be resulting towards drugs for a relief. it was a habit he picked up from his older brother sukuna, you noticed. it's why you always glared at the tattooed man every time you passed him. it's his fault for ruining your poor boys lungs slowly.
you were both sitting outside of his porch, the clock had just hit one in the morning, and just not too long ago maybe he was in between your legs or maybe you were just continuing the lucid dream you replayed in your head, never wanting this to end. you wish yuuji had never said that to you.
you wish you had never fell in love with him.
"we all want a teenage dream. i just don't care enough at the moment to chase after mines," he continued, blowing the leftover smoke out of his system into the night sky. you held in your whimper. this was not the boy you thought you knew. it was getting colder which left you shivering, yuuji taking notice of this but not making any action to keep you warm like he used to.
not giving you the sweater he would lend you in a heartbeat if he even saw your breath from how chilly the weather was. it wasn't the same anymore. he's changed. he's happier with where he is right now, and it pains you to see him like this.
you were so exhausted. so tired of putting up with this facade he's given you, the consistent ignorance after using your body, the warmth that disappeared so suddenly, and the hurt of your heart when he dismissed your feelings truly. he's not the same and after so long of ignoring it due to how blind you were, you've decided to come to terms with it.
it was time to let go.
so there he was, taken back by your sudden neglect as you ignored his questioning onto where you were going when you had just randomly got up out of nowhere and decided to leave his front porch, walking towards the exit of the neighborhood. "are you going to answer me?" he spoke to your figure that had yet to look back at him for the very last time, and so once you turned back with those big doe eyes and lumps of tears falling down your face, that's when he came to terms with it.
"i'm done chasing my dream. i'm going home now, take care for me."
and so he stood there, watching your figure disappear into the shadows until he saw nothing behind the darkness, his body not allowing him to leave his place. there was no point, he would just be hurting the both of you even more. he didn't deserve you, he never did, but for the fact that you decided to stay with him on your own time made him maybe just appreciate you a little bit more.
because at the end of the day, no matter if this was the last time the two of you would ever see each other again or not, you were always going to be itadori yuuji's favorite person.
