“Hurry up or we’ll be late!” Yuuji exclaims. Megumi sighs as he steps out of the cab, paying the driver with cash before catching up to his friend.
They both walk into a clinical, sterile looking building. Yuuji is a shaking bundle of excitement as he walks into the reception of KenjakuCorp laboratories and Megumi is trying his very best to ignore him, deciding that it’s too early to deal with his antics. They sit down near another group of people chatting loudly. Yuuji managed to drag Megumi into accompanying him for a free tour of KenjakuCorp labs and since both Nobara and you were busy, Megumi was left with no choice but to agree. Now, the pink-haired boy could not stop bouncing his right leg with excitement. Eventually, an employee with a TOUR GUIDE tag on his chest approaches the group of people with a wide smile.
“Welcome everyone to KenjakuCorp! Today, you’ll be able to look at revolutionary advances in the biomedical and technology fields. Follow me this way, please.” Some excited chattering fills the room and the two boys trail after the group and the tour guide. While the tour guide begins to give a verbal presentation on every location they stop by, Yuuji can’t help but constantly peer into the laboratories surrounding them, constantly saying ooh and aah! while Megumi drags him away from a glass display of lab animals at least once or twice. By the time an hour has gone by, Yuuji remains energetic as ever but Megumi can feel his social battery draining quickly.
“Remind me again why we’re spending a summer afternoon at KenjakuCorp laboratories instead of gaming in my bedroom?” Megumi grumbles as he crosses his arms over his chest. Yuuji pays his grumpiness no mind and instead drags his friend with him, catching up to the tour guide.
“Because science is cool, duh! I won the raffle for two tickets for a tour in KenjakuCorp labs and you know I couldn’t pass up that opportunity, I love their work! At any rate now, they’ll be able to cure cancer.” Megumi snorts at that but says nothing, falling quiet as the tour guide ahead of them speaks up again.
“Okay folks! We’ve reached the cafeteria and we’ll be taking a thirty minute break. Feel free to get something to eat and we’ll reconvene afterward to finish the tour!”
The group quickly scatters after the announcement. Yuuji and Megumi walk over to a snack shop, Yuuji speaking a thousand words per second while his broody friend listens silently and nods along. They both get some deli sandwiches before heading over to a table that’s near some animal glass displays, watching the critters while they talk.
“You know, we’re starting college soon,” Megumi starts off and Yuuji nods mindlessly before taking a bite out of his sandwich.
“Yeah, sho?” He says with a mouthful of food in his mouth and Megumi rolls his eyes. Gross.
“So when are you going to tell her how you feel?” He doesn’t even need to mention your name, there’s no one else he could be talking about. Yuuji feels his ears grow warm and he sputters for a second on his sandwich before clearing his throat and swallowing down the food.
“Tell her what?” Yuuji tries to play it off, as if his crush on you hasn’t been a recurring topic between the two of them for years. Megumi scoffs.
“Don’t play stupid, Yuuji. You’ve been in love with her since freshman year and you still haven’t done anything about it. You’ve gotten lucky so far, but your luck might run out eventually, especially since we’re starting college. Who knows who she’ll meet there.” Yuuji frowns at that. He tries to picture you with someone else and all it does is make his stomach twist.
“That’s not true! She’s one of my best friends. I’ll make sure no one steals her away,” his chest puffs out but even he isn’t fully convinced by his own words. Megumi shakes his head.
“You don’t know that. Things change. You can’t just expect her to wait for you to confess forever. Eventually, she’ll get tired.”
Something ugly and unknown makes Yuuji’s chest twist and he scowls. “It’s not like I’m making her wait on purpose. The time just… hasn’t been right yet.”
“Right…well by that logic, the time will never be right. You’ve been saying that for like what, three years now?” Megumi says with a bored look on his face, looking down at his sandwich with disinterest. It makes Yuuji’s right eye twitch.
“You don’t know that. Also, that is not true! Yes, I’ve been in love with her since freshman year but you know I didn’t realize it until the end of sophomore year!” He jabs his finger in Megumi’s chest who narrows his eyes. Two strong-headed guys as best friends often leads to minor squabbles and cat fights. The two of them continue to bicker and argue, imaginary steam blowing from their ears until Yuuji’s sentence is cut off by a yelp of pain.
“That’s so stupid…if you actually knew what was right, you’d know — ouch!” Yuuji feels a sudden, strong sting of pain shoot on the back of his hand and he smacks it out of instinct, not even noticing the spider he flung away.
“What the hell? That hurt.” Megumi also stops mid-argument, his gaze shifting to one of concern as he peers at Yuuji’s quickly reddening hand.
“Did you get bit by something? I didn’t see anything.” The pink-haired boy shrugs, wincing softly at the pain.
“I don’t know, but it actually hurts. I mean, a little. It’s already going away, so it’s whatever.” He waves off his friend and their attention quickly diverts.
After they reconvene with the group and finish the tour guide, the two friends are quick to leave and split ways. Yuuji heads to his local hospital, a flower bouquet in his hands as he makes his way to his grandpa Wasuke’s room. He ignores his grandpa’s elderly grumbles as he sets the flowers in the vase by the window, nodding along with whatever his grandpa is talking about.
“Listen, Yuuji…” Wasuke croaks out in Japanese and Yuuji turns to face him. “You’re a strong kid, so help people…When it’s your time to go, make sure you’re surrounded by others. Don’t end up like me.”
He frowns at his grandfather’s words, not liking the way it makes his chest feel heavy. “What are you talking about now, grandpa?” His grandpa doesn’t respond. His eyes are closed, hands crossed over his abdomen.
“Grandpa…? Grandpa!”
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
Yuuji wakes up with swollen eyes and an even more swollen right hand. His heart is heavy and he can see his grandpa’s funerary urn in the corner of his bedroom. He’ll need to put that in the living room later today, he thinks. Next to the photo frames of his parents. His uncle Sukuna should be home soon from his night shift. Yuuji called him last night to break the news and to no one’s surprise, his reaction was rather indifferent. But at least Yuuji doesn’t have to worry about paying for a roof over his head; his uncle will support him even if he complains about it.
The house’s silence is deafeningly loud and Yuuji hates it. So he gets up from his bed, tugging a hoodie over his head. But as he tugs the hoodie over his head, he finds himself stuck – it won’t fit him right. Did he have a growth spurt? The fabric is tight around his chest and arms. Yuuji shakes it off and looks at himself in the mirror, brows furrowing. He’s always had some muscle but now it looks like he’s been going to the gym every single day when he’d often ditch P.E. in high school…
A surprised noise leaves his mouth as he flexes and notices how buff he is. What the fuck? When he reaches for his phone, it won’t unstick from his palm. He shakes it vigorously multiple times and only manages to rip it off after multiple attempts, staring at the strange residue on his palms and his phone. Yuuji yelps as a strange residue shoots out of his fucking wrist, landing on his bed. Is that… a spider web?
He aims his wrist at the wall and his eyes widen as more webbing shoots out. Holy shit. What the fuck is wrong with him? Yuuji’s so immersed in the strange webbing that he entirely misses the footsteps going up the staircase and his bedroom door swinging open, a familiar voice drifting in.
“Yo, you forgot your hoodie. I brought it back–,” Megumi freezes at the sight of his shirtless friend, who all of the sudden is extremely jacked and is shooting webs at his wall.
“–what the fuck?”

You hum as you put the bowl of leftovers in the microwave, a TV news channel playing in the background. The summer before college has felt endlessly long, especially when Yuuji and Megumi started avoiding you all of the sudden…were they mad at you? There was no reason for them to be mad at you, or so you think. You’ve been trying to reach them for weeks to no avail.
“Hero or criminal? A new masked individual has appeared throughout several neighborhoods of New York City, saving citizens from robbers and other crimes. While his alias is still unknown, our team is currently working on learning more about this masked individual”
You mostly tune out the TV newsreporter, looking down at your phone with a frown. Yuuji and Megumi’s texts have gradually decreased throughout the summer and it’s been upsetting you. Nobara is indifferent to the growing distance, chalking it up to it simply being summer and school not being in session. If you didn’t know any better, you would agree with her, but you know Yuuji and Megumi – especially the former. It’s strange for him to be so distant and quiet.
After being sent to his voicemail for the third time, you scoff and set your phone down. Whatever. You’ve tried enough for now. Maybe he’s having a rough time at home? It must be rough only living with his grandpa and uncle…especially since his uncle is so strange. You return your focus to your food, trying to push Yuuji out of your mind. At least for the time being.
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
You lay on your stomach on the sofa, scrolling mindlessly on your phone as you wait for Nobara to text you back. It’s been at least a month of both Yuuji and Megumi being ghosts and you’ve had enough! You’re determined to confront them — or something like that. To do so, you’re definitely going to need Nobara’s confrontational nature to help you.
“After a month or two of confirmed sightings, we have obtained the name of the new masked individual swinging around the city of New York. He calls himself Spider-Man and claims to be a hero focused on taking care of the neighborhood…at least for the time being. The appearance of Spider-Man and other masked individuals have raised the question of how the government should deal with this unauthorized addition to law enforcement? More on this after the commercial…”
You sigh. Your sibling keeps leaving the TV on even when they’re not using it anymore and then you end up unintentionally listening to an hour’s worth of the local news channel. Though, you’d be lying if you said that this so-called Spider-Man didn’t pique your interest. After a couple of minutes of more mindless scrolling you put down your phone, choosing to actually pay attention to the TV for once. You watch with wide eyes as they display clips of Spider-Man swinging from building to building, robbery attempts that he’s stopped, countless people and animals he’s saved from burning buildings. The ringing of your phone snaps out of your trance and you quickly pick up when you see Nobara’s picture on your screen.
“Hey, what’s up? I saw your message that you wanted to talk.”
You sigh and lay down on the couch, tuning out the TV once again. “Yeah…it’s about Yuuji and Megumi. I’m worried. Are they mad at me or something? They rarely respond to texts and won’t hangout with us anymore…”
Nobara clicks her tongue. “No, I don’t think they’re mad at you. If they are, then shit, they’re mad at me too! They also stopped texting me and started acting like strangers. Honestly, I don’t know what’s going on but I’m not too worried,” you frown. “It’s the summer before we go into college and it can be really stressful with family and getting everything ready to move in. I say we give them space for now – hopefully things will go back to normal once we move into our dorms. If they’re still weird after that, then I think we should talk to them about it.”
You sigh. She’s right, yet you can’t help but overthink – especially when you’ve been in love with Yuuji since high school. Being in love with someone tends to warp your thoughts and feelings.
“You’re right…that’s the best for now, I guess. I’m just really worried about Yuuji, you know? I’ve never seen him act like this before.”
Your friend snorts and you feel your face warm up, already knowing what she’s going to say. “He will be fine. That’s just your lil’ crush on him talking.”
You roll your eyes but smile. “Whatever.”
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
As expected, the beginning of college move-in season is chaotic and busy. You move into your dorm with Nobara while Yuuji moves in with Megumi. The four of you also happen to live in the same dorm building, making it perfect for you guys to coordinate hangouts together. Ever since you moved in you’ve been able to interact with Yuuji more, but you still can’t help but feel like he’s hiding something from you. Still, you don’t want to push him if he’s not ready to share. So instead you focus on simply spending time with him and Megumi, catching up over what they did during the summer. After move-in and before the first week of classes, the four of you managed to meet to hangout while getting burgers and fries.
“Ugh, it’s been way too long!” You sit between Yuuji and Nobara with a beaming smile, setting down a tray of food. Megumi follows behind you, setting down another tray and sitting next to Yuuji.
“I know right?” Yuuji laughs awkwardly and scratches the back of his head. “I was just so busy during the summer…”
Megumi clears his throat and butts in. “Yeah, me too. Lots of… chores.”
You raise a brow. Megumi sounds strange, even for his usual dry self. You share a look with Nobara but choose to say nothing – for now.
“...okay. Anyway, let’s catch up! What did you guys do this summer?” You try to brush past the awkwardness that’s brewing in your group, a strange occurrence since the four of you usually get along so well.
“Not much,” Yuuji says in between mouthfuls of his french fries. “My grandpa passed away. Now it’s just my uncle Sukuna and I.” You guys go silent at that. Your heart drops. Then Nobara and you are exploding at the same time.
“What?!” You’re both flabbergasted — how is Yuuji so casual about his grandpa’s passing?! He simply shrugs and you briefly glance at Megumi, who also seems indifferent to this news, taking a bite out of his burger. Had he already known about this?
“Yeah, I mean it’s nothing surprising. He was already hospitalized for a while.” Yuuji speaks casually as if he’s unaffected but still you frown. Your chest aches for him. This explains why he was so distant during the summer.
“Yuuji, that’s terrible,” you place a hand on his shoulder. “I’m so sorry to hear that. Have you had the funeral yet?”
He shakes his head no. “Nah, grandpa Wasuke asked to be cremated. So I had that done and now I have his urn at home.” His nonchalance leaves you at a loss of words.
“Sounds like your grandpa,” Nobara says while nodding solemnly. She shoves some fries into her mouth. “Sorry to hear that, Yuuji.”
Your pink-haired friend simply waves off Nobara with a forced smile. Detecting that he doesn’t want to talk about the topic, you decide to step in and talk about something else.
“Okay well, are we ready for our first college party? I’m so excited.” Your friends (minus Megumi, to no one’s surprise) all perk up at the mention of a college party — it’s like nothing ever happened and the group’s dynamic goes back to normal.
“Yes!” Yuuji beams and you smile. “I’m so excited to do a keg stand, I want to break whatever record they have.” Nobara snorts at that, rolling her eyes.
“Oh please, I doubt a random freshman is gonna break whatever record these frats have had for years. Actually, scratch that. I doubt they’ll even let you, a random freshman, get close enough to the keg stand.”
Yuuji gasps indignantly. “Rude! I don’t think I look that young, I could definitely blend in with the frat bros!”
Megumi pauses, putting his burger down. “You know, maybe you could. You’re just as dumb as a frat bro.” You laugh as Yuuji whines, leaning his head against your shoulder. You freeze up for a second before relaxing, heart racing.
“They’re both so mean to me,” he whines to you, his puppy eyes making your heart stutter. Trying your best to act casual, you simply smile and affectionately pet his hair.
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
Since starting college, the dynamic in your friend group has changed – much to your dismay. You’re all still friends but you’ve noticed a division developing, with Yuuji spending most of his time with Megumi, leaving Nobara and you in the dust. You really don’t understand why and while it did initially hurt your feelings, you also know you’ve done your best to reach out and communicate. If they don’t reciprocate the effort, that’s not your problem or responsibility.
Nonetheless, you often miss Yuuji, especially because he was the one you were closest to – not even considering the crush you have on him. He’s the one that dragged you into the friend group, which consisted of two other people unwillingly befriended by him (Megumi and Nobara). So when he began distancing himself from you, it did hurt a lot. But whatever Yuuji’s problem is, you can’t control or help him if he doesn’t want the help. Though painfully and unwillingly, you’ve taken a step back from his life and focused on spending time with Nobara and making new friends.
By the time it’s sophomore year, Nobara and you have established a couple of meaningful female friendships and you’re always looking to make new bonds to ignore the ache that Yuuji left behind in your chest. You rarely talk to him or see him these days if it’s not a birthday or holiday and you wonder if the communication will eventually fizzle out into nothing. You’d think that for someone who was your best friend for half a decade, he’d care more about staying connected.
Accepting your new reality has been a tough process but you’ve been able to work through it. Growing distant from Yuuji and Megumi? That’s fine. Talking to them less and less until you rarely see them? Okay. Stop being in love with Yuuji? That one is still a work in progress. Nobara has encouraged you to seek out new people to forget about Yuuji and you’ve tried, attending parties with her every now and then but so far, no one has caught your eye. Your pink-haired best friend has your heart in his palm and refuses to let go. A little cruel of him, you think. Except he doesn’t know; Yuuji would never be intentionally cruel.
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
“You’re losing her, you know?” Yuuji freezes at Megumi’s words. He slowly turns to his best friend, who’s casually sitting at his desk as if he hadn’t just dropped the verbal equivalent of an atomic bomb on him.
“What?”
Megumi shrugs. “I’m just telling the truth. I ran into Nobara the other day so we caught up. She’s been talking to this guy from one of her classes, I think his name is Yuuta? Something like that. He asked her out on a coffee date yesterday but I don’t know what she said.”
Yuuji feels his heart drop to his stomach. His knees feel weak. He knows he hasn’t been around much, he hasn’t for a long time – not since he took on the mantle of being Spider-Man. It’s nearly impossible to juggle being a superhero, college, and his social life – at least one of these things ends up getting neglected in the process. It doesn’t help that Yuuji doesn’t want to get you tangled up with his superhero affairs so to keep you safe, he’s been distancing himself. Yuuji’s identity is secret but he doesn’t want to risk anything happening to you. Once he’s managed to balance everything out, once he’s got his shit together — then he can return to you, then he can finally tell you how he feels. He didn’t realize that the distance would do more harm than good.
“Fuck.” That's all he can manage to say. Megumi takes pity on him and doesn’t push him any further, choosing to fall quiet. Yuuji lays back on his bed, staring at the ceiling. What is he supposed to do?
“Oh, speak of the devil,” Megumi says before Yuuji can begin to spiral and overthink. “Nobara just texted me. She turned him down so consider yourself lucky. For now, at least.”
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
Slightly shivering and with your arms crossed across your chest, you angrily stomp back to your dorm. Of course your class friend (soon to be ex-friend) decides to ditch you for a random guy at the frat party! You’re both angry and disappointed since you had hoped to enjoy a girl’s night out with this new friend but instead she picked a man over you. You scoff. Whatever, clearly she’s not meant to be your friend if she’s this male-centered.
The street is dark and it has you on edge. You’ve walked back to the dorm at two in the morning plenty of times before, but never alone. That’s a golden rule for staying safe while partying in college. You clutch your mini purse to your side, eyes constantly scanning your surroundings. You’re slightly tipsy but sober enough to stay vigilant.
You turn a corner and curse under your breath at the sight of a lone man ahead, standing on the sidewalk while nursing a cigarette. You walk briskly past him, not even sparing him a glance, and hoping that’ll be the end of it. Unfortunately, you’re not that lucky. You feel your skin crawl when a wolf whistle reaches your ears. You speed up your pace and try your best to not break into a run.
“Where are you going, baby?” The man drawls behind you and you start to feel around in your mini bag for your pepper spray. Fuck, did you forget to bring it with you?! This is bad.
“Why don’t you come back with me and have some fun, yeah?” His voice and footsteps sound closer. Your heart is in your throat. You can’t find the pepper spray. You’re still ten minutes away from your dorm. Do you call the police? They won’t get here on time. Nobara, Yuuji, or Megumi? No, they’re probably asleep and also wouldn’t get here on time. Fuck.
Fuck it. You break into a run, not daring to look back. His footsteps pick up behind you.
“Bitch!” He shouts behind you. “I’m fucking talking to you, don’t run from me!” He’s probably drunk, you think as your sneakers slap against the pavement. A drunk man is even more scary than a regular man. You turn into an alleyway, hoping to find a shortcut or somewhere you can lose him. When you reach a dead end, you start to reconsider all your life choices. Fuck, if you had just stayed in tonight you would’ve been fine…
You scan your surroundings, trying to find something – anything you could use to defend yourself. There’s nothing in your mini purse but lipgloss. Damn it, why did you have to forget your pepper spray!? The man’s footsteps echo in the alleyway and your heart races. It’s beating so hard it’s threatening to burst out of your ribcage and you wonder if this is how prey feel right before a predator tears them apart.
“There you are!” He says in a mockingly sweet tone. “I thought I’d lost you for a second…” You finally turn to face him, trying to calm yourself even though it feels like you’re about to die – or worse.
“I don’t have any money,” the words come out shaky and fearful. “I don’t have anything, please just let me go.”
He laughs. “I don’t want your money.” Your blood runs cold. You can feel your hands trembling at your sides.
The stranger takes a step forward before he’s stopped. A spider-like web shoots down from the roof onto his shoes, trapping him in place. What the hell? He’s confused too, looking down at his shoes. He tries to rip away from the webbing but it’s glued onto him and the pavement, limiting his movement.
“You don’t like being told no, do you?” A new, third voice makes you jump in your skin. You hear another web being shot and then another and before you know it, Spider-Man is standing in front of you, blocking the stranger from your view. Spider-Man!? He turns to glance at you before returning to the stranger. The man has realized the gravity of the situation and immediately starts thrashing even harder, trying to escape from the webs.
“Let me go!” He growls. “And mind your own fucking business.”
The masked superhero responds by shooting two more webs, one covering the man’s mouth and another binding his hands together. You laugh in disbelief. There’s no way this is happening.
“Man, I hate guys like you. You’re staying here until the police show up,” Spider-Man scoffs before turning to you. “Are you okay? Did he hurt you?”
You’re still in shock, frozen in place. Somehow, you manage to gather the energy to slowly nod.
“Yes, I’m okay. You got here just in time. Thank you,” your words are barely above a whisper. He nods.
“Of course, that’s what I’m here for,” his voice drops to a soothing tone. “Can I walk you home?” You nod in response. Spider-Man guides you out of the alleyway, keeping you on his left so that you don’t brush past the stranger as you exit the alley.
“You’re a student here, right? Do I walk you to the dorm buildings?” You nod again, not feeling like you have the capacity to answer verbally. Spider-Man doesn’t pay your silence any mind and you’re grateful for that. The two of you walk in silence until you reach the dorm building area and you’re standing outside the entrance of yours.
“Thank you,” you say earnestly as you look up at him. “Genuinely, thank you so much. You saved me from whatever could’ve happened to me.” You choose to not say it out-loud but you both know what you mean. He nods somberly.
“Of course, I’m glad I was able to get to you before it was too late,” he reaches out and swipes some hair behind your ear. Your breath hitches and your cheeks grow warm. “Stay safe, okay? I hope next time I run into you, it’s under different circumstances.” His tone is light and slightly teasing. It draws a smile out of you.
“Yeah, me too.”
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
Spider-Man starts popping up at every corner since he rescued you that one night. You’ll see him on weekend nights, stopping burglars and keeping the college neighborhood safe. He’s walked you home once or twice from your job and you’d be lying if you said you felt indifferent towards him. He’s built and has bulging biceps, kind and responsible — who could blame you for being into him?
You like to think you’ve developed something akin to a friendship with him. The two of you chat when he walks you home and you’ve grown comfortable around him. One particular night, you’re feeling defeated while walking back to your dorm. Yuuji had promised he would drop by your job to catch-up and you waited eagerly but he never showed up. Really, it’s on you for getting your hopes up when you know better.
“Tough night?” Spider-Man pipes behind you. You don’t even turn, simply acknowledging him with a hum. He picks up the pace so he’s walking side-by-side with you.
“You could say that.” You don’t even have the energy to sound sad, mostly just tired and defeated.
“What’s wrong?” His voice grows softer and it strongly reminds you of Yuuji’s. It makes your skin prick.
“I’m just tired,” you sigh and adjust your bag on your shoulder. “I’m tired of getting my hopes up for no reason. I’ve been in love with this one guy since high school and he’s my best friend, but I don’t know anymore. He started distancing himself since we started college and I don’t know why.” You don’t notice the way Spider-Man falters in his steps or how his eyes widen like saucers.
“We were supposed to hang out today, but he ditched me without a word. I thought things could finally go back to normal but…maybe we’re just growing apart for good.” You mutter, lowering your gaze to the pavement. It’s the first time you’ve voiced all of your anguishes out loud and the vulnerability makes your chest feel tight.
“I’m sorry to hear that,” Spider-Man says after a couple of minutes of silence. “He sounds like a total asshole. You deserve better.” You smile softly at his last sentence and huff.
Eventually the two of you reach the entrance of your dorm building and you turn to face Spider-Man. This seems to be a new routine being established, with the masked superhero walking you home on the days you have a late shift at work.
“Thanks for walking me home and for listening,” you say softly. Maybe you’re misreading the situation but you feel tension buzzing between Spider-Man and you and it’s making your heart race. Before you can chicken out, you step closer and press a chaste kiss on his cheek.
“Good night!” You manage to get out before turning and nearly running into your building, refusing to look back. You don’t wait around for his reaction, scared it won’t be one that you’ll like.

One miraculous sunny afternoon, you’re having a picnic with your three high school friends, basking in the warm sun. Yuuji had texted you a couple of days ago, apologizing for the last incident and asking to hang out as a group.
You’re laying on a blanket next to Nobara, eyes closed and belly full of picnic snacks. “This weather is so nice,” you sigh softly. Nobara hums in agreement.
“Oh my god!” You shoot up from the grass. “I can’t believe I forgot to tell you. Guess what I did the other day?” Your friend’s interest is immediately piqued and she sits up too. Yuuji and Megumi stop their side-conversation, waiting for you to continue.
“Okay, so…I’ve kinda become friends with Spider-Man?” Nobara gasps. You miss the way Yuuji and Megumi tense up and share a look.
“What!? How could you forget to tell me this?” She smacks your shoulder playfully and you laugh apologetically.
“Sorry, sorry! I’ve been distracted with exams and work. He saved me the other day from this creep and after that he started walking me home every now and then,” a smile lifts your lips. “He’s cute, I’m kinda into him,” you laugh nervously. “The other day…I gave him a kiss on the cheek.”
Nobara and Megumi make a noise of surprise at the same time. “What!?”
You shrug, trying to act as casual as possible. This is part of getting over Yuuji, showing interest in other people. Said boy stays silent while your other two friends begin flooding you with questions and you laugh as you answer all of them, missing how Yuuji’s eyes never leave your face the entire time.
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
Things seem to be changing for the better, with Yuuji inserting himself back into your life, Megumi following after. You’re not sure why but you’re grateful to have your best friends back.
“No, Human Earthworm 3 is the weakest!” Yuuji says before popping a handful of popcorn into his mouth. You laugh and shake your head in disagreement. The two of you have been having a Human Earthworm marathon from morning to night, having one of those few rare days where there’s no homework or exams weighing your shoulders down.
“That’s your personal preference. I disliked the second one more than the third." You quip back and you giggle at the noise of frustration he makes. His cheeks are stuffed with popcorn and it makes him look like a chipmunk. Cute.
“Whatever,” Yuuji whines. “Agree to disagree. You’re watching it with me anyways, and that’s all that matters.” You smile and ignore how your heart skips a beat. He’s not even saying anything remotely romantic yet your traitorous heart can’t help but feel otherwise.
“Yeah, they kinda suck and that’s why you can’t get Megumi or Nobara to watch them.” You snicker at his offended gasp, watching him dramatically clutch his chest.
“You take that back right now! That is so not true!” Your snicker grows into giggles as Yuuji playfully tackles you onto your back and you squirm, trying to free yourself from his grip. You try not to think about how he’s able to pin you down effortlessly or how his biceps have gotten so much bigger the past two years.
“It is true! Listen, I like them too but they’re a guilty pleasure! They’re like junk food, you know it’s bad for you but you enjoy it anyway.”
He pouts and you smile. Yuuji seems to accept defeat as he sighs but doesn’t respond. Yet he doesn’t get up or let you go. You swallow thickly as you realize how close the two of you are. He’s got you laying on your back and he’s on top of you, one of his hands holding both your wrists above your head. He’s got his legs wedged between yours, spreading them open. He’s so big that he nearly covers your entire view of the ceiling. You unconsciously lick your lips and Yuuji’s eyes are immediately drawn to them before flicking back up to your eyes. Fuck.
Just when you think he’s leaning down for a kiss, your phone starts ringing. He immediately jumps off you and you scramble to sit up, reaching for your phone. Scam call. You scowl. Did you seriously get cockblocked by a scammer?
“Scam call,” you say out loud and Yuuji laughs awkwardly in response. Shit, what do you say now?
“So…” you start off. “You’re coming to my conference, right? I’m going to present the research from my lab.” Nice save, you think to yourself. Yuuji perks up and nods.
“Yeah, of course! I wouldn't miss it for anything. I’m so excited to see you in your element!” Your face grows warm and you smile softly. He unpauses the Human Earthworm movie and settles down next to you, things going back to normal. Yet, part of you can’t stop wondering what would’ve happened if the two of you simply ignored that phone call.
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
The conference room is swarming with attendees, judges, and fellow students who are scrambling to prepare for their research presentation. Your dress shirt feels tight around your neck and your blazer feels like it’s twenty pounds heavy. Your lanyard is swinging with each step you take, trying to scan the packed conference room.
This is supposed to be a good day. An exciting event, one that will be incredibly valuable for your professional journey. Presenting your research will help speed your journey into academia and receive exposure. Your research mentor is already here and so are your labmates, so everything should be perfect — but it’s not. Despite how many times you scan the room, Yuuji is nowhere to be found. It’s hard to miss his bright pink hair. Your throat tightens up. He’s not here, even though he promised he would be. You clench your fists.
You spot Nobara waving at you from the seating area and you shoot her a forced smile before turning around to your research table. Really, you feel more disappointed with yourself more than anything else. Disappointed for believing that your friendship with Yuuji could go back to the way it used to be, for believing that he could see you more than just a friend.
Despite the emotional turmoil you’re experiencing, you shove it all down and return your focus to your presentation. Whatever. No matter how much you’re in love with your best friend, you’d be damned to let him ruin this important event for you. You sit through several other presentations, nodding along and taking mental pointers on the other presentations on what to avoid and what to focus on. Once it’s your turn, you’re quick to rise from your seat along with your labmates, clearing your throat before beginning the presentation.
The presentation goes flawlessly; you’ve spent weeks preparing for this, after all. The research judges are attentive and nod along to your words, asking a couple of insightful questions and providing overall positive feedback. By the time everyone’s applauding, you’re smiling as your chest heaves. Everything went according to plan.
A couple of more presentations go by before you can begin packing up your materials. Nobara had to leave early to meet with a classmate for a project but sent you a dozen hearts and other emojis, which made you crack a smile. Once the conference has ended, you’re helping your labmates pack up the research flyer and other items, feeling the heaviness in your chest return. You swallow down a sigh. The crowd quickly begins to thin out as you prepare to leave, snapping your head up at the sound of someone running into the room, sneakers slapping against the floor loudly.
It’s Yuuji. He’s got a crazed look in his eyes, chest heaving, a sheer layer of sweat dripping down his face. You frown and look away, choosing to focus on slinging your backpack over your shoulder and grabbing one of the research posters to take home with you. You hear him before you see him, his footsteps approaching as he calls out your name which you pointedly ignore.
“I’m so sorry,” Yuuji says with wide eyes as you turn around to face him. “I had an emergency and it took longer than it should’ve,” he’s gesturing wildly with his hands. “But I’m here now and—,”
—The conference is over,” you cut him off with a scoff. “It doesn’t matter anymore. You’re too late.” You walk past him, ignoring his pleading. His non-stop blabbering is making your head hurt.
“I know and I’m so, so, sorry, I know I said I would be here and I swear I didn’t mean to be late! Something came up and I just…” you begin to tune Yuuji out as you walk out of the building, rolling your eyes as he continues to trail after you, running his mouth non-stop. He keeps trying to stop you, keeps trying to get your attention, but you’re done. You’re done with him and with hoping that he’ll go back to being the boy you fell in love with.
He’s still going at it by the time you reach the university’s dorm buildings. Yuuji grabs your arm, forcing you to turn around and face him. It only makes your anger spike even more.
“Listen Yuuji, I said there’s nothing else you can possibly do to change my mind so just leave me alone, I don’t want to hear it—”
“ —I know, I know, I’m sorry. But please, let me show you this one thing,” his puppy eyes are wide and his brows are furrowed. Fuck, his puppy eyes are your biggest weakness. “I just want to show something, it’ll explain everything. I promise. If you’re not satisfied with it, then I’ll leave you alone. I swear on it.” He places a hand over his heart and you sigh. You’ve never been really good at telling Yuuji no, especially when he’s begging you with that cute puppy look on his face.
“Fine. You get ten minutes to explain whatever the fuck’s going on.” He beams and the corners of his eyes crinkle. Then he’s dragging you to his dorm building while you mentally reconsider your life choices that led you here.
“Listen, I know things have been off since we started college,” he says once you’re both standing outside of his dorm. He grabs both your hands with his own and your breath hitches. “It’s my fault and I’m really sorry. I didn’t want to get you involved but now I know that’s a mistake because all I’ve been doing is hurting you.” You feel your heart start to race and you swallow nervously. He pushes his door open and you’re not sure what to expect — a girl in his bed? A secret pet he’s been harboring illegally?
You’re not sure what to expect but you certainly weren’t expecting to see Megumi at his desk, a red-and-blue suit in his hands. He freezes, looking up at the two of you. There’s a needle in his hands and a pair of scissors between his teeth.
“Um,” you say after a prolonged period of silence. “What exactly… am I looking at?”
Yuuji walks into the dorm and you follow suit, standing in place as he walks over to his friend and snatches the clothing from his hands. He brings it to you and you recognize it instantly now that you’ve gotten a closer look at it.
“This is Spider-Man’s suit,” you say with furrowed brows. “What are you guys doing with it?”
Yuuji stares at you expectantly, as if waiting for you to connect the dots. Megumi and him have been extremely distant since the summer before college, which was around the time Spider-Man appeared in your city…
“Oh my god, Megumi is Spider-Man!?” You blurt out. Said boy palms his face while Yuuji groans, taking the suit from your hands.
“No, I am!” He pulls the mask over his head and you freeze. Now that you look at him, he is the exact same height as Spider-Man…and his muffled voice that you always thought sounded so similar to Yuuji…
“Oh my god.” You slap a hand over your mouth. “Oh my fucking god!” Your head is going to explode, you think. The countless times you talked about Yuuji to Spider-Man…you were telling Yuuji the whole time! The cheek kiss you gave him…!
“What the fuck!?” You shriek and Yuuji shrinks at your volume while Megumi snorts.
“Listen, I know it’s a lot to take in but—” Yuuji holds his hands out, trying to placate you. There’s too many emotions coursing through you right now and you don’t know which one you’re supposed to focus on.
“How long — how long have you been Spider-Man?” You demand, jabbing a finger into his chest. He winces.
“Since the summer before college…” Of course, the timeline adds up. You take a deep breath before redirecting your attention to your other friend.
“And how long have you known?” Megumi freezes, not expecting to be on the receiving end of your wrath. He sighs, scratching the top of his head.
“Around the same amount of time.” He mutters.
“WHAT!?”
Yuuji is instantly on you, trying to hush you so you don’t disturb the dorm neighbors but you’re smacking his hands away, turning to face him with a furious look.
“Are you serious!? He’s known this whole time? What about Nobara, does she know!?”
He instantly shakes his head no. “No, she doesn’t know! Megumi wasn’t supposed to find out, he walked in on me,” Yuuji sighs. “I didn’t intentionally tell him, trust me.”
Out of all the emotions coursing through your body right now, the easiest one to identify is anger. So you decide to focus on channeling that one.
“Are you serious right now, Itadori?” He winces at the use of his last name. “The four of us have been best friends for years and you kept this from both Nobara and I? Did you not trust us enough or what? You’re unbelievable!” He opens his mouth to respond but you shut him up with a nasty glare.
“No, don’t even try right now. You’ve been an absolutely terrible friend since that summer — and so have you!” You turn to point at Megumi, who at least has the decency of staying quiet. “Because you’ve been hiding this secret this whole time? You know, I don’t even care about the fact that you’re literally Spider-Man!” You whisper-shout the last part. “It’s the fact that you didn’t trust me enough with this and instead of being honest, you decided to make me feel like I’m crazy about your change in behavior! You’re a no-show for the thousandth time and you think that telling me this is going to fix everything? All the broken promises and distance you’ve caused? I can’t believe you right now.” You shake your head, laughing bitterly. This is insanity.
“You’re an idiot, Itadori.” You turn around and march to the door, ignoring his protests and slamming it behind you. Unbelievable.
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
Yuuji tugs the mask off his head, ready to chase after you. Fuck, fuck, he’s messed up big time and he doesn’t know how to fix it. He reaches for the doorknob but he stops at the sound of Megumi’s voice.
“Don’t.” His friend says from his desk. “Give her space. She needs space and time to take this in. If you chase after her, you’ll only make things worse.”
Yuuji groans with frustration. He sits on his bed, hands gripping onto his head. He doesn’t know how things could get worse than this, honestly.
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
Nobara finds you in the dorm, curled up underneath your blankets. A pint of ice cream between your hands, dried tears staining your cheeks and your comfort show playing on your laptop. You don’t acknowledge her when she enters the dorm, too caught up in your own misery and frustration. What are you supposed to do after your best friend tells you that he’s Spider-Man?
You hear her sigh before she sits on the edge of your bed. “What’s wrong? Your research presentation went great, so did something happen after I left? Is it because Yuuji didn’t show up?”
A sniffle escapes you. “Kinda. It’s complicated. He showed up after it ended. I don’t wanna talk about it, but I’m just really upset at him right now.” She nods in understanding.
“Got it. Well he’s an idiot, but I’m sure you know that already,” you almost smile at that. “And he’s an even bigger idiot for not realizing what he has right in front of him.”
You don’t respond and only frown. Nobara awkwardly pats the top of your head before she changes the subject.
“Whatever, let’s not think about that. Fuck him! Let’s do something fun instead. Maki invited me to this frat party Friday night — you will be coming with me.” You groan, covering your face with your blanket. You’re not against partying but after today’s events, all you want to do is curl into bed for a month or two.
“I know, I know, but trust me. It’ll be worth it. Maybe we’ll find a cute random you can make out with.”
.𖥔 ݁ ˖🕸️🕷.𖥔 ݁ ˖
Friday night comes around and you’re walking arm-in-arm with Nobara on the dark street, a small sigh leaving your lips. It’s been a couple of days since that day and you haven’t spoken to Yuuji at all, ignoring his texts and any advances to communicate with you. You’re still not sure how you feel, but as of right now, all you want to do is not think about him.
You’re already slightly tipsy from pre-gaming with Nobara by the time you reach the fraternity house. The house is vibrating with the booming music, dark with flashing party lights and warm from all the dancing bodies. After finding some drinks, Nobara and you reach the dance floor, letting the alcohol wash away your worries and focus on the swaying of your hips. An hour or two goes by with the two of you dancing your worries away, Maki coming to join the two of you eventually. You’re giggling and dancing when you feel someone approach you so you briefly look back. An unfamiliar guy smiles at you as he beckons you to the drinks area. You think for a second; he’s cute and tall, so it doesn’t hurt. So you mouth “be right back” to Nobara before letting yourself get guided by the cute guy to the drinks. The blasting music makes it impossible to have a normal conversation so the two of you are constantly leaning into each other’s ears to talk and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t like the attention. For years you’ve been so heads-over-heels for Yuuji that you forgot what it felt like to be approached and wanted by someone else.
“You’re really cute,” he says as one of his arms wraps around your waist. Your face grows warm as you thank him. The two of you continue chatting and you let him gradually pull you closer, your stomach twisting with excitement. Maybe Nobara was right and you’ll end up kissing a cute random tonight. Just when you think he’ll make a move, the bartender shouts something you don’t decipher and the guy sighs.
“I’m so sorry, I have to deal with this,” you nod and realize he’s a member of the fraternity. “I’ll be right back, okay? Stay right here.” He pats your waist and you laugh before agreeing. You nurse on a drink while waiting for him to return, watching the party scene.
“Who is he?” Yuuji’s voice makes you jump in your skin and you nearly spill your drink, yelping in surprise.
“Jesus Christ!" You turn to glare at him. “You can’t just walk up on a girl like that, especially at a party. You scared me!” He gives you an apologetic smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. You scowl.
“What are you doing here, Yuuji?” You look away, choosing to focus elsewhere but your best friend.
“Nobara told me I might find you here,” he says and you curse her under your breath. Goddamnit, why would she sell you out like this? “Listen, we need to talk.” You scoff, feeling yourself quickly sober up.
“I don’t know what there is to talk about.” You can’t hear it over the blaring music but you watch him sigh.
“Please just hear me out. I fucked up last time, I’m sorry. I should’ve handled it better.” You roll your eyes.
“Yeah, no shit. I don’t want to talk right now, maybe another time.” You turn to leave, hoping he’ll take the hint and not follow you. But no, Yuuji is stubborn as ever and follows you out of the party. You scoff. A solid ten minutes go by with you hoping he’ll give up but he doesn’t.
By the time you’ve reached your dorm building, you decide to speak up. “Are you deaf? I said I don’t want to talk to you.” You say without looking back, knowing he’s close behind you.
“I know but you can’t avoid me forever. Please, we need to talk. ” He calls out your name and it almost makes you stop. Almost. He follows you into the building’s elevator and stays quiet until you’re in front of your dorm’s door.
“So, who was that guy you were with?” You stop, dorm keycard held mid-air.
“None of your business,” you reply coolly while opening your door. Yuuji follows in after you and you pretend he isn’t there, setting your mini purse down at your desk.
“I know it isn’t but I still want to know.” He replies and you hate how the softness in his voice gets to you.
“No one,” you say with a scoff. “Now, what do you want?”
Yuuji sits down next to you on your bed. “I want to apologize. I’ve fucked up a lot… and I’ve been hurting you the most. I’m sorry.”
You hum. “Is that it? Is that your amazing apology? I’ve got to say, I was expecting more.”
Yuuji almost smiles at that. “No, that’s not everything. Ever since I got my powers, things have been…chaotic. I don’t know what I’m doing most of the time and I didn’t want to get anyone I love involved,” he buries his face in his hands and sighs. “But it ended up happening anyway. I pushed both Nobara and you away because I thought it was the right thing, keeping you guys safe and not involved with my business. But it wasn’t. I just made things worse.”
“The last thing I wanted to do was to push you away, I’m sorry.”
You frown. “Well, you did. You know how all of this has made me feel, Yuuji? We went from being inseparable to only seeing each other for birthdays or holidays. I thought…you didn’t want to be friends anymore.” You look down at your lap, ignoring the lump forming in your throat.
“No, no. That was never my intention,” he says, desperation seeping into his voice. “Please look at me,” Yuuji grabs your chin, forcing you to meet his gaze. Your breath falters. “I hate when you’re not looking at me.” Fuck. Your heart stutters at his words.
“I never wanted to stop being friends, I promise. That was the opposite of my intentions,” he laughs. “You have no idea how I felt when I found out Yuuta asked you out and when I saw you with that guy tonight.”
Your lips unconsciously part open. “What do you mean?” Your voice is barely above a whisper.
Yuuji gnaws on his bottom lip and your eyes are drawn to them. He takes a deep breath before responding. “I’m in love with you. I have been for years. I was stupid and it took me way too long to realize it. Then I got my powers and…well, things got complicated.”
Oh god. Are you dreaming? There’s no way. You’ve imagined this scenario over a thousand times yet never imagined it actually happening. You don’t realize you’ve been quiet for minutes until he speaks up again.
“Please say something,” he laughs awkwardly. “I don’t—” you cut him off, grabbing him by his shirt and pulling him into a searing kiss. His words quickly turn to dust as he leans into the kiss, his hands settling on your waist. The kiss grows sloppy quickly and somehow you end up sitting on Yuuji’s lap, his lips constantly entangling with yours.
“You have no idea how long I’ve waited for you to say that,” you say after pulling away, laughing breathlessly. He smiles crookedly before pulling you back into another kiss. Your arms wrap around his neck and pull him closer while his explore your waist, stroking your sides. The kissing grows messier and sloppier and you’re moaning between kisses, unconsciously grinding down on his crotch. You feel his boner pressing against you and it only spurs you on to keep going. His hips buck upward into you and you gasp into his mouth.
“Fuck,” he pulls away and you stare at his swollen lips. “Are you okay? Do you want to keep going?” You nod quickly and Yuuji doesn’t hesitate to continue, his lips capturing yours. He ends up flipping the two of you and you end up on your back with him on top of you. Your arms reach up to wrap around his neck and his legs spread yours open so you wrap your legs around his waist. He groans in-between kisses, moving from your lips to peppering kisses all across your neck. You whimper and your back arches off the bed, pressing yourself further against him.
Before you know it, Yuuji’s helping you slip off your mini-skirt and underwear and he’s kneeling between your legs, staring down between them like he's found gold. Without a warning, he drops down and then his tongue is on your pussy and you gasp at the sensation, thighs tightening around his head.
“Fuck!” You squeak out and Yuuji groans, muffled by your legs. His tongue is eager, lapping up at your dripping cunt and licking circles around your clit. Then he’s pistoning his tongue inside of you as his fingers rub your clit and you’re seeing white for a split second.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do this.” He mumbles and all you can do is whimper in response. “Been wanting to be in-between your pretty fucking legs for years.”
You’re squirming as he eats you out, the pleasure becoming overwhelming and you’re trying to push his head away even though you don’t want him to actually stop, the pleasure making you lose control.
“Fuck, fuck, Yuujiii…” you whine and squeeze your thighs around his head. He hums in response and then you’re crying out even louder when he inserts a finger inside of you, stretching you from the inside. The combination of his tongue and finger fucking you at the same time makes your head feel fuzzy. You don’t know how long he spends in-between your legs until you’re cumming with his name slipping off your tongue, back arching off the bed.
You lay flat on the bed, chest heaving as you catch your breath. When you look up you see Yuuji sitting on his heels, pants unbuckled and boxers tugged underneath his balls, stroking his cock furiously. The sight of his hard cock and weeping tip makes your mouth water and then you’re sitting up, crawling forward and taking him into your mouth before he can react. A choked gasp leaves his mouth and he thrusts forward into your mouth, hands dropping to grip your hair. Your hand’s unconsciously reaching between your legs as you suck his cock, slipping a finger inside to finger yourself while you blow him.
“Fuck, your mouth feels so good,” Yuuji groans and you hum around his cock, making him jerk forward into your mouth. He hits the back of your throat and you choke for a second before relaxing your throat to take him in deeper.
He pulls you off his cock and you look up at him, confused and wanting. “Need to fuck you, please let me fuck you.” You giggle at the desperate look on his face before nodding.
Sometime later you find yourself moaning like a slut, face buried into your pillows as Yuuji fucks you from behind, your hands tied behind your back with his webs, and your back in a nasty arch. You’re nearly drooling on the pillows but you’re far too gone to care. All you can focus on is the way Yuuji’s pistoning his cock into your pussy, sloppy noises filling the dorm.
“Fuck-fuck!” You squeal and try to move your hands, unable to grip onto anything since they’re bound behind your back. Yuuji groans before lowering his chest to your back, bare skin pressing against bare skin.
“You feel fuckin’ perfect baby,” he pants into your ear before leaving wet, open-mouthed kisses all across your neck. All you can do is moan in response, back arching even more to press against him. Your cunt clenches around him and it makes a broken gasp escape his lips, hips stuttering. One of his hands is on your pussy, fingers circling around your clit until you’re coming for a second time from the combination of his harsh thrusts and the clit stimulation. You don’t get time to recover before he starts fucking into you again.
“I’m so close – where do I cum?” His voice is desperate and you barely muster the energy to tell him to cum inside. Yuuji doesn’t hesitate to obey, his thrusts becoming faster and erratic until he spills inside of you with a groan. Your legs are trembling and your body can finally relax once he pulls out of you and then lays down next to you. The two of you lay in silence for a couple of minutes, catching your breath. Then Yuuji turns to you with a beaming smile on his face.
“This means we’re dating…right?” His head slightly tilts to the side like a confused puppy and it makes you laugh. You nod before pulling him into a kiss. He instantly melts into it, pulling you flush against him. You pause to look at him.
“Just no more secrets, okay?” You raise a brow and he smiles sheepishly, nodding in agreement.
“No more secrets. I pinky promise.”
➸ a/n: hey guys!! i hope u enjoyed this fic and if so do reblog and/or comment! ty and love y'all!! <3
“it is! it’s the most important film in the whole human earthworm franchise, how can you say that love?” yuuji pouted at the bright screen of his laptop, his left arm thrown over your shoulders to keep you held close to him.
your head lay on his chest, just under his chin, with your hand pressed over his heart. you didn’t really care that much about the movie, you just liked being close with yuuji while he’s simply existing. his slow breathing like your personal melody.
“you know i only watch these movies for you, yuu.” whispered in the dark dorm room. you felt his fingers move to softly caress at your shoulder, his pillow rustling as he moved his head to lean is against your crown. “you don’t have to,” he replied.
your fingers danced along his chest, playing with the cotton of his t-shirt. yuuji’s right hand joined you eventually and your fingers began their own slow dance of toying and lingering. “i know, but i like hearing you talk about the things you like. it brings a warmth to my heart, like whenever i see you smile and your eyes get scrunched because of your chubby cheeks.”
adjusting your head to lean back so you could peer at yuuji who happened to already be doing the same. sliding your hand away from his you quickly squished his cheeks and giggled at the exaggerated pursed lips he had. yuuji leaned in to press a wet kiss on your forehead.
he then pulled your hand away to intertwine your fingers and rest them atop his heart again. “you’re smile and laugh is like the perfect sunny day for me. it’s like the second i see you the clouds just disappear, whether they were good or bad, you make my day so so so much better.” yuuji’s voice started to crack, barely a mumble as he stared deeply into your hearts.
you felt frozen by his gaze, but it was good, you liked being simply admired by him. the movie became white noise as your eyes studied yuuji’s lips, they were slightly red and cracked due to him always losing his chapstick.
“i know it’s still early to say this-“ a hushed confession forming aloud, “but i hope we get to live a happy life.” leaning in closer while yuuji was a breath away.
“i’d like nothing more.” and then your lips connected. a promise, a future lifetime.
one break up, college dorm move-out, failed fwb, and an established summer fwb roster after and i'm BACK Y'ALL!! (i say as i scream into an empty abyss LOL.) in the process of cooking up my next work!! so excited to release this :3 hopefully before the end of june!

“Incase there’s any danger and i happen to be around, don’t be afraid to call for my help, alright?” Yuuji told you as you were laying in his bed, in his embrace.
“You do know im capable of protecting myself, right?” You smiled.
“Yeah, obviously! But still, you never know! I just have an odd gut feeling..” He mumbled.
“You sure it isn’t cause you need to shit?” His hand suddenly spoke.
“Shut it Sukuna!” He groaned trying to shut him up. You just laughed.
“But yeah! My point stands, i’ll always be there for you and ready to risk it all for you.” He looked at you tenderly, you just leaned in, nuzzling into his shoulder.
“I’ll keep that in mind.” You smiled.
“Ew corny.” Sukuna groaned.
“Stop ruining everything!!”
—————————————————————————
Three days after this conversation, you and Yuuji were assigned to a mission of defeating a 1st grade curse.
See youre a 1st grade sorcerer yourself, so you truly expected this to be a breeze of a fight, of course some complications will happen, but overall you shouldnt have any issues.
The curse was said to have grown stronger by consuming and sucking out the souls of others. So there will be some “shed skin” laying on the ground. That’s what Gojo said atleast.
You and Yuuji were now in the backseat with Nita driving you to the place it was last seen.
“Goodluck on the mission you two” she said before driving off.
“Hey, im kinda nervous, i cant explain why.” You suddenly blurted out. The place infront of you was a rundown old shrine.
“Im here for you incase anything happens.” The pinkette reassured squeezing your hand.
You smiled accepting his reassurance. “Alright, let’s do this then.”
“Let’s stick together for now incase anything happens.” He said before going in, with you trailing behind and still holding his hand.
The second you two went in, there were many sucked out souls on the ground. It was a terrifying sight.
“God… this is all so… terrifying..” you mumbled staring at the ground.
“Sure is…”

The deeper the both of you explored, the less you found of the curse.
“God, we’ve been exploring for hours! Let’s split up. Im sure one of us is going to find something.” You suggested.
“Alright but-“
“If anything happens i should call for you, yes.” You said finishing his sentence.
“Just… be safe” he mumbled kissing your forehead.
The both of you then went seperate ways. You searched outside the shrine, hoping to find something. You didnt find the creature itself, but you found footsteps, leading to a rather small shed.
Suddenly a black liquid started oozing out of it, causing you to get grossed out. The more it started oozing the more it formed into a huge, disgusting inky monster.
“Let’s get this over with…” you mumbled before activating your cursed technique.
To quickly run it down, you can thread curses, causing you to have some form of control over them. The technique has its limit though, you only have 10 threads, as that’s the amount of fingers you have.
“Threaded control.” You mumbled as the threads started releasing and you tied 5 threads around him and 2 to his hand and the other 3 to his other to help slow down his attack.
Unfortunately for you, his bidy was just too big and gooey for you to take control of. Your threads snapped the second he moved, which had you taken aback.
You furrowed your brows and tried your best to thicken the strands, which worked for half of the strands, allowing you to keep him tied, but he still managed to pick you up, which caused you to be unable to control anything.
You slowly felt your soul being sucked out.
“YUUJI…” you weakly shouted in agony.
You couldnt do anything, your control was completely lost. It was so over for you.
You felt all hope dissapear and all you could do was count in your head to try and distract yourself from any pain.

Suddenly something kicked the inky monster causing it to be knocked down and splattered. You were freed. But weak.
“Y/n, im gonna need you to focus a bit for now please. Make your threads as thick as you possibly can, tie him down and i’ll take care of the rest.”
You nodded, before focusing and ignoring the pain to do exactly as he said. And so, Yuuji was able to use his physical powers to beat the curse up.
He then used a weapon Maki had lent him to fully destroy the curse.
You then retreated your threads and lied there on the ground huffing in pain. You were completely drained.
“Stay strong Y/n, i’ll bring you to Shoko. Dont die on me and please hold on” he mumbled kissing you.
You hummed in acknowledgement before passing out.
—————————————————————————
You woke up to a bright light and to exhausted eyes measuring your vitals.
“Ah, would you look at that. You’re awake.” Shoko said.
“How long.. was i out…” you mumbled.
“Well, the curse did hit you pretty hard, so you were knocked out for a good 30 hours. Thankfully Yuuji brought you here in time, there was a chance you could’ve died.”
“Yuuji.. can you please bring him here.” You begged.
“Mhm.” She hummed before leaving to get him.
10 minutes later a distressed Yuuji, a worried, yet nonchalant Megumi and an extremely worried Nobara came barging in.
“Y/NNNN HOW ARE YOU, i was so worried when Yuuji went RUNNING to Shoko with you in his arms, I WAS SO SICK AND WORRIED, I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONNA DIE!!” Nobara cried out.
“I’m glad you’re okay.” Megumi mumbled. He’s worried dont worry, he just has a hard time expressing it.
Yuuji stared at you before embracing you. Not hard enough to hurt you, but tight enough for you to acknowledge he missed you.
“Hey, let’s leave them alone for a bit.” Megumi whispered to Nobara, which she agreed to and the two of them left.
“Im so glad you’re okay..” he mumbled kissing your forehead.
“I feel so funny.”
“I can imagine, you looked so frail. Mr. Gojo said you arent allowed to go on any missions until you fully recover, this also includes hard training.” He said informing you.
“Good to know” you said yawning.
“Dont fall asleep now! I missed you” he huffed.
You giggled before uttering an “i missed you too” and kissing him.
he takes you for a walk on the beach during your lunch break, burgers from the local snack truck in this brown paper bag in one arm and the other reaching for your hand. there are probably kids from his surf class, who end up crashing your date and you don’t even mind cause yuuji is so good with kids, gentle and patient it makes your tummy do backflips so you don’t mind taking a seat in the warm sand n watching him do his thing with his students … who would say no to the show
yuuji taking off his shirt because he doesn’t want to get sweaty…gold honey skin catching in the warm hands of the sunlight. it shines… his chest big and plush, bouncing every time he skips up and down the little sandy volleyball court — that sea shell necklace he’s always wearing right around his throat that bobs with every gulp of water. his shorts oooo… his shorts are small and red and tight — squeezed around his thick muscled thighs and slender waist ….
if he’s playing with little kids from his surf class yuuji does a lot of dude for the ball, sand in his abs and dusted in his pretty pink hair — he hits the ball gently so that they can reach it and lift them up by their arm pits to hit the ball over the net. if yuuji plays with teenagers, he takes it more seriously to train them up — grunting and hissing with every slap of the ball across the yard, he flexes every time his team scores, does that big sexy yell guys do when they’re winning i think it’s very fun and competitive and he winks back at you every time.
the teens start teasing yuuji about how he’s showing off for you sitting back, laying on your tummy on your beach mat. probably talking about how hot you are and yuuji starts giving them noogies between plays. when he’s done he bounds back over to you, shirt loose around his neck and you’re already opening your soda up for him to gulp down — liquid seeping out of the corner of his mouth, down over his Adam’s apple.
yuuji has sand down his back, his hair is pink and sweaty and he smiles at you like he’s still catching his breath. you can’t help but throw your arms around him, hands mapping all over his muscled body and back as you kiss him like you want to consume him. tongue tackling his over his teeth, your fingers twisted in the roots by his scalp — moans poured past his lips as if to replace gus breath.
he tastes like cherry cola and sun cream. “what was that for?”
“i dunno,” you giggle, nose nudging his. “i think i just like when my man knows how to play ball.”
