It's Eleceed day, beautiful people
I know no "Tuesday", only "Eleceed's weekday"
Looks like my computer needs a new wallpaper
Also
The aesthetics, my girls in 1080p really makes me gape at how we’re the same age
Eleceed never lets up in making me laugh like I can never get a break coz these episodes are everything but boring
It’s so unbelievably sad that I depend on Eleceed for my weekly dose of happiness, like the week is going awfully but suddenly Tuesday is the best day since a new chapter comes out.
My favourite day is Tuesday :)
Rewriting the ending to Swordgai season 2 because what was that time skip, even a third season couldn’t cover all those plot holes.
Spoilers ahead!!
And all the names will be wrong because I finished the series at 2 am and am barely functioning but I have to do this
First change start with Miura’s blue light change. His arm is cut off but instead of the sword being absorbed into him it kills him, there, done now he can finally be with his daughter and wife in heaven. The light sword disappears into thin air after that though and the two old men lament about it, saying it’s gone off to purge the darkness as the will of the gods.
Himeko doesn’t deserve to die. She realises that she’s in love with Gai and coughs up blood but then feels the aura of the light sword calling to her. She sees its light and it materialises in her hand and she stabs herself with it, the sword absorbing into her. She realises that she was never truly hollow (because I call bs if romantic love kills her when she cares for her clansmen like family) and it was her hope in humanity and busamon like Gai alike that quells all the darkness of the weapons in her. Himeko then vows to save Gai and heads off with her right hand man.
The whole fight between Mitoba and Gai still happens, but I’m writing what happened after Gai stabs Mitoba because it was just skipped (Netflix you coward). So they merge and the prophecy comes true but then Himeko arrives. The sky opens up and the sky turns completely black, Himeko repeats her promise with Gai and then starts a cleansing ritual. The blonde woman goes to intervene and everyone goes to fight her. She almost strikes Sayaka but Gai grabs her mid air and crushes her as she disappears. They all then join hands in a circle around Himeko and she ascends heavenly powers and faces off the combined Gai and Mitoba. She ends up absorbing their power and falls unconscious. She wakes up in an astral plane where she sees Gai and calls out to him. He thanks her for fulfilling his wish and tells her to protect Sayaka in his place as both his and Mitoba’s dying wish since they can’t do it themselves. She laughs as he walks away before looking at him longingly, remarking that he’ll be able to watch over her from inside her.
Epilogue starts now. It pans to the grave of Gai’s mother and zooms out to two more graves next to it. Sayaka places flowers down on the mother’s before praying to her, hoping that Gai and Mitoba are there with her watching down on them. She places a single black rose on Gai’s grave and a white one on Mitoba’s. Himeko walks towards her and they lament about Mitoba and Gai, Sayaka expressing her regret for not being forward with Mitoba and her guilt towards Gai. Himeko stops her, saying that she has saved them both and they would have forgiven her since they both wouldn’t have it in their hearts to hate her in their dying moments. Himeko then tells Sayaka about Gai staying with them, saying how he was different and despite being a busoma, was truly human at heart. Sayaka smiles at that and agrees, saying the same about Mitoba, remarking that Mitoba‘s philosophy of bringing about peace with kindness was realised by Gai and now they can live freely.
POV switches to reveal the two remaining heads of the Shisobai examining the state of the area. There are only a handful of Crysalis left in the world, those who did not participate like the hammer lady and the hairdresser and some standby agents who were elsewhere in the world. The two heads reflect on Mitoba’s father’s actions and vow to rebuild the Shisobai for the sake of humanity.
POV switches to Sayaka’s high school with Sayaka finishing her drawing in the art club, but instead of a bowl of fruit that’s in front of them, she draws both Mitoba and Gai. Her friends mention karaoke and tell Sayaka to head there first since they haven’t finished their drawings yet. Sayaka is going to leave school but near the gates is ambushed by those 3 class punks who taunt her about Mitoba and their relationship, since it was rumoured that Mitoba transferred due to their squabble. Sayaka tells them that it’s none of their business and the bullies laugh, saying that Mitoba was going to donate them money but then left so it falls on her hands. Sayaka is about to beat them one but gets interrupted by Himeko entering, asking what was keeping her. The bullies go to mock Himeko for her shrine clothing and one reaches to touch her until her right hand man flips him and beats the rest up. Sayaka’s friends arrive as the bullies run away and Sayaka introduces Himeko as a new friend and that she invited her to their karaoke outing. Himeko smiles and Sayak’s friend group are entranced by her peaceful features, they all walk off.
Final POV shows the Sayaka’s father looking towards the sky with his friend, lamenting maybe it was inevitable for Gai to run from his destiny and that it was fate that he and Shiryu were bound together. He expresses that Gai has grown to be a boy his mother would be proud of and that he has no lingering regret like before. The last pan changes to the lone blade that Gai forged for Himeko propped on a stand on Sayaka’s windowsill, the hole where the scythe struck glinting in the sunlight.
END.
