My Design Philosophy
3 questions stay uppermost in my mind when I design.
Who are my designing for? How and What do I want them to feel when they engage with my work? How do I achieve this feeling?
4 words I also keep in mind.
People. Purpose. Simplicity. Fun.
With my design, I try to focus on People. I listen and I talk to the people I’m designing for, I invest time in research, no matter how crazy the deadline is. I do my best to understand my audience as much as I can.
Simplicity is also a rule I try to stick to. For me, the point of designing anything is to make things easy for people, no matter what it is.
With design, it’s important to un-complicate things for people, whether it’s helping them navigate a busy mega city or squeezing toothpaste from a tube.
Design should make things simpler, smarter, faster.
It’s also important that they have fun or ENJOY the experience. This is what they will remember after they’ve engaged with my work. I always want them to come away with a good feeling or memory.
Do I always achieve this? I hope so.
But I keep trying to make sure I do my best to achieve this with everything I create.
PS: KO logo designed by me is my alias initials is also an exclamation mark. lol
