Okay I have to make a post about this because it was the first thing I noticed and I'm going nuts.

Flowery is a thousand percent trying to invoke the image of Rudy.

His smiling sprite and hairstyle are similar (though the hair is going in the opposite direction)

Claims to be Asgore's college roommate and best friend, a role that is VERY Rudy-specific

Calls him Gorey, something which we know Rudy called him from Asgore quoting him in the undertale alarm clock dialogue

And generally has the same body shape, a thing which i found most apparent viewing their sprites from the back.

This makes all the gay shit flowery does in this chapter infinitely funnier. they're laying it on real thick

In a way, I guess it's kinda funny how it's Flowery of all people to nudge Ralsei's Gender Arc. Because while there are many thematic and narrative parallels you could make about Ralsei's resentment of Flowery coming from jealousy, how Flowery represents what Ralsei wishes they could be if they weren't held back by their insecurities and fear of 'breaking the rules', in terms of literal gender presentation, Flowery is very much an image of idealized masculinity. Maybe not in a big macho tough guy kind of way, but definitely in a Fairytale Prince/Handsome Pretty Boy Dating Sim Protagonist/Shonen Hero/Asgore's ideal Best Guy Friend Wingman/Sexyman Humanization kind of way. Pretty much all the visual and narrative tropes he play with are at least somewhat male-coded.

So, it's, like, Flowery is nudging Ralsei to allow themself the power to decide what they want to be, and Ralsei takes one look at Flowery and is like "well, first of all, I know I don't want to be This."
