Impressions from our trip to Blaubeuren - Blautopf - Stone-Age Museum - Monastry - monk bathhouse - museum of local history
Some impressions from our trip to Jersey. A nice island in the channel that had been annected by German forces during WW2. One of the few british islands the Germans were able to occupy.
The war tunnels especially, telling the story of the island and her people during that time and the struggles of survival. The installation was amazing.
I‘m aboslutely going to revisit Jersey and then at least a week!
I‘m in France again for the 75th D-Day celebration.
Those photos are from the first day (28.05.2019). We‘re near Utah beach.
The celebration will start around the 4th... :)
One for you. One for the friend who died at your side.
British cemetery in Bayeux. 06.06.2017
(Still 05.June 2017) Reenactment at the Battery in Crisbeq. Americans versus Germans (America won). No people were harmed during this. It’s all acting.
A few more pictures:
Still on the 05.06.2017.
Reenactment at the Battery of Crisbeq. There are a couple of American groups but also a german one. This is necessary because there we get to see a fight of American vs. German soldiers. Photos of that on the next post.
Still the 05. June. Have some more Photos. This time it’s Camp Geronimo.
Camp Geronimo in St. Mere Eglise right beside the Airborne Museum.
It’s one of the larger camps with lots of nice and cute details as well as a lot of visitors. So it’s hard to shoot photos without any civilians.
05. June 2017 - Camp Bloody Gulch
First of three camps we visited that day. It was small but done with love and the manor is really impressive.
04. June 2017, St. Mere Eglise celebration.
What a beautiful firework.
Some more impressions from the second day. 04. July 2017. Vehicle-Parade in St. Mere Eglise. The older Gentlemen were Veterans.
The way they are celebrated is amazing.
Also:
First par tof the second day.
Camp in Carentan. Not many good photos but a few. Also I really like the Canadian jeep with the Canadian flag.
Gonna upload some of my Normandy fotos.
First day, 03.06.2017
We arrived at 12:00 in St. Marie du Mont (where we also have our vacation home), and went over to the church to look through the camp.
I didn’t shot many photos. More to come
I’ve been to the Nuernberg Zoo, together with @mon-qi and @caraya
it was exhausting but totally worth it! My first time in a Zoo.
Some more photos of our ( @mon-qi and I) visit to wildelife park Bad Mergentheim.
Today I bring you little wild cats. They may look like your average house-cat but those are actually cats that live in the wild, in our woods and are their own race. They are in dager to get extinct because they crossbreed with house-cats (one of the reasons why it is important to castrate your cats if they are allowed to go outside)
We were lucky to see those cute little kittens. The park-ranger (?) even said to us “in the evening we sometimes get to see the kittens” and BÄMM! here we go! That was a double surprise because we missed the feeding of the wild cats...
Anyway, enjoy those cuties!
I know I upload very irregulary. Anyway on 13.06.2016 a friend ( @mon-qi ) and I went to the wildlife park in Bad Mergentheim.
We tried to see all animals while they were fed, anyway it did not work out so we took another round (the park was already closing up) but we were still lucky and got some rare sights and shots.
I present you a little wolf puppy. (Eastern wolf if I remember correctly.)
Please enjoy the adorableness!!
(more to come soon!)
Have some Photos from Saturday, 22.08.2015. First real day of the weekend at war. The camps were really impressive and the actors/reenactors all did a great job. There were so many details and stuff happend all the time.
Anyway, first thing in the morning we were allowed to join them to a little ride with the stoomptrain (steamtrain) to the remains of the westwall.
You see some first glanes of the German Red Cross Train Wagons. There were two, with lots of Red-Cross Reenactern. They helped the hurt soldiers and civilists.
There were also a couple of old bikes. You can see at least two in this set.
More to come.
I know I lack at keeping this blog up to date but last weekend I was at the Weekend at War in Simpleveld. These Photos are from friday, 21.08.2015
Simpleveld is in the Netherlands, near the border to germany, not far away from the Westwall. We also visited the american cemetary.
On Saturday and Sunday there were amazing reenactments. You’ll see more photos soon.
