oh and, by the way, if you hear anyone saying any of that “your body my choice” bullshit? press sexual harassment charges.
“but it’s not a big deal” WRONG
“but he was only joking” WRONG. RAPE THREATS ARE NEVER JOKES
WE WILL NOT LET THAT SHIT SLIDE. EVER.
and if you don’t think the cops will help and you’re safe to deal with it on your own?
do it yourself. cuss him out. hurt him. do NOT let it slide.
FASCISTS AND RAPISTS DO NOT GET TO FEEL SAFE.
Since the holiday toy drive post is circulating again, I figured this would also be helpful! Food insecurity is such a massive problem in America, in general, and if you have the means to help feed others, I think you should take that opportunity. Here are some other tips:
1. If you’re planning on donating items from your own pantry, please check the expiration dates on the packaging. Think of your donations as gifts to bestow, not castoffs to be rid of. It’s awful to think of people feeling like they got scraps someone else just didn’t want. Everyone deserves dignity with their meals.
2. If you’d rather give money to a food bank, that’s also great since they buy food in bulk and know what items are most wanted/needed!
3. Not everyone has access to appliances like stoves or microwaves or hot plates so if you can donate items that don’t need to be heated up, that would also be greatly appreciated!

You know what?
I love you, fics that take months to update. I click on the newest chapter and have no memory of this place and get to go back some chapters and rediscover how much i love everything about this story.
I love you, fics that take years to update. I think of you fondly, and know your names, go search for you and see an update from this year and scream, diving in uncaring of any missed details (i will finish the update and read you in reverse because this is a treat you have bestowed)
I love you, fics that probably will never update again. Thank you for being a roman empire for my mind, thank you for teaching me about the ephemeral fandom experience, for inspiring a thousand million what if-s, for being a comfort read and a nostalgia read and a reread.
I love you fic writers, who jump into projects and stories with enthusiasm. I love you when you succeed in pumping out those chapters and that love doesn't go away when you stop.
I love you fic writers who post and then get in your own head and never feel confident enough to update, whether it's at all or whether it's just that one story.
I love you fic writers, who have a fandom or media hurt you to the point of abandoning or having a hard time with their WIPs.
I love you fic writers, who lose interest or have life changes or illness or bad memory. Thank you for being part of the fandom, a core part of the fandom. Thank you for the time spent in the fandom.
I love you, fic writers who try out something new and then stop. You're so valid.
I love you, WIP fics that may or may not ever get finished. Thank you for brightening my day in the way only you could have.
Project 2025 ain't gonna roll out all at once. So what we're gonna wanna do is make passing each individual part of it as difficult as possible, so there's less to undo once we finally get this country back on the rails.
Resist every step and do not get distracted by stupid bullshit. Distracting people with stupid bullshit is one of Trump's favorite political techniques. We saw it all over the place in the first term.
Trump will say something like "You know the Hispanics actually punch kittens, it's what they do."
And the news will be like "TRUMP SAID HISPANIC PEOPLE PUNCH KITTENS" for three weeks.
And while they're doing that the Republicans in Congress have quietly deleted healthcare.
Do not get distracted by stupid bullshit. Trump is a dancing monkey whose greatest asset is the ability to yank the spotlight off of everyone else. Keep your eyes on Congress.
Facts!🤭
I reblogged this last month, tagged it, and said “might as well see if it works.” I used this video as a reference to find all the forms that i needed (which is A LOT, especially if you’re a dependent) and sent them through the mail, not really allowing myself to hope.
dude.
$2,714 of medical debt from my top surgery - gone. im shaking this was such a weight on me for 2 years and it fucking worked. what the fuck.
this manga panel speaks to my soul
Sakura only had development in strength, but mentally, her relationships with other characters, it's the same, that's what I don't like about her. She punches Naruto in both Naruto and Shippuden. She is obsessed with Sasuke in both Naruto and Shippuden. She is a bad friend to Ino in both Naruto and Shippuden. To me, strength doesn't mean much if a character has a shitty personality.
I apologise for my bluntness Anon, but that’s an utterly stupid argument, I’m not even gonna bother sugarcoating the silliness of what you just said because the fandom has been getting on my nerves lately, and this isn’t helping.
I could go on for ages giving example after example of how Sakura’s relationships with many of her peers improved greatly over the course of the series, but I’ll limit it to just the three people you mentioned.
NARUTO
You’re literally basing your entire argument on the fact that Sakura still sometimes hit Naruto in Part 2, which is already enough to discredit your entire point. This is a very common trope that’s played for laughs in shounen anime and is never to be taken as an accurate depiction of their actual relationship. I would have thought this would be common knowledge but I suppose not. I myself absolutely despise the trope, I don’t find it funny at all, and it is indeed one of the things that I don’t like about Sakura’s character, but I can at least acknowledge that it’s not at all used to signify anything regarding the strength of her relationship with Naruto.
In case you’ve forgotten some of the very obvious ways her relationship with Naruto improved over the course of the series, let me give you a reminder.
She went from flat out stating that she hated Naruto:
To sincerely worrying about him and trying to cheer him up because she though the nerves of the Chuunin Exams were getting to him:
She went from rudely treating Naruto as nothing but an obstacle she had to manoeuvre around in order to get to Sasuke:
To being willing to put her own progression as a ninja on hold all for Naruto’s sake, because she didn’t want to see his dream get taken away from him:
She went from thinking that Naruto ruined everything, enjoyed tormenting her, and how she didn’t want to be anywhere near him:
To recalling that very moment, regretting her words deeply because she knew how close Naruto and herself had gotten, and thanking him for all he had done for her, because she now knew that Naruto did indeed understand her:
Why? Because their relationship had improved enough for her to be able to see and acknowledge this.
So no Anon, there was far more to Sakura and Naruto’s relationship than simply her hitting him for laughs when it wasn’t warranted.
SASUKE
If you honestly think that the genuine desire to save your loved one from a very dark place can only be considered to be an “obsession”, then I think you need to re-familiarise yourself with the term. What exactly demonstrated that she was “obsessed” with Sasuke? Please elaborate, because I can already see how easy it’s gonna be for me to disprove whatever answer you choose to formulate.
Something also tells me that regardless of your answer (if you even choose to give one), Naruto is gonna be far more guilty of it than Sakura is, and yet Sakura is somehow always the one who is labelled as obsessive, despite Naruto chasing after Sasuke a lot harder, but that’s a separate issue.
The issue here is you thinking that Sakura’s relationship with and her feelings for Sasuke stayed the same. In which case…
Please explain the apparent similarities between Sakura staring at Sasuke with hearts in her eyes:
And her risking her life to protect him without an ounce of hesitation:
Please explain the apparent similarities between Sakura barely being able to contain her fangirl tendencies:
To her having stayed by Sasuke’s side everyday, helping to nurse him back to health, and demonstrating sincere concern for his well being, and relief when he finally woke up:
Please explain the apparent similarities between Sakura shouting how cool Sasuke was with hearts in her eyes once again:
To her demonstrating to him that she took his words regarding the pain of loneliness to heart, and not only signifying to him how that was the last thing she wanted for him, but also that if he were to leave, she would also experience loneliness:
So no Anon, Sakura’s relationship with Sasuke most definitely did not remain the same throughout the story, nor should it be considered an obsession.
INO
Now what exactly do you constitute as being a “bad friend”? Sakura and Ino were rivals at the beginning of the series so they obviously weren’t going to be on the best of terms. However, before you go and tell me the typical nonsense about how Sakura “abandoned their friendship over Sasuke”, I’ll save you the trouble and say that no she didn’t. What Sakura did was distance herself from Ino because she no longer wanted to be under her shadow.
Ino knew that Sakura had the potential to bloom into a flower more beautiful than the cosmos, but she had become too conformable with the dynamics of their relationship - with her being the undisputed alpha, saying things like how Sakura was still just “a bud”, and it was these sentiments that eventually led to Sakura deciding to step away from Ino and allow herself to grow as a person:
Their rivalry over Sasuke only gave Sakura more incentive to do what she had already wanted to do for a while. She said it herself, she was no longer her little tag along, and Ino knew exactly what she meant, because the rift between them wasn’t about Sasuke and it was never about Sasuke. That’s why she thought to herself that she got it:
But even after they made up following their fight in the Chuunin exams, their rivalry would of course still continue, because that’s just their relationship; It’s vitriolic in nature, but there’s no malice, only endearment. “Forehead Girl” and “Ino Pig” will always try one upping each other, but that doesn’t mean that one of them is being a “bad friend” to the other:
I can only assume that the only reason you think Sakura was apparently a bad friend during Part 2 was because she was looking forward to hearing Sai say something that would get Ino riled up when they were getting to know him, but that was just another example of them trying to one up each other for bragging right purposes. There are plenty of other examples in the story of both of them trying to do this, with an example from Ino’s side being shown in the image above when they were getting flowers during Part 1, and she stated that she didn’t want to let Sakura get a leg up on her.
However, despite the best friends being vitriolic on the surface, they were still indeed best friends, and they spent a lot of time together following their reconciliation as an indication of this:
And this continued throughout Part 1, Part 2, the Novel arcs and even well into the New Generation. They may bicker, but they’re the best of friends:
So no, Sakura wasn’t a bad friend to Ino at all.
I’ll even give you a bonus example, just because I can…
LEE
Sakura went from being made to cringe at the sight of Lee winking at her, and making fun of his hairstyle and eyebrows:
To deeply caring and worrying over him as he was pushing himself too far on the road to recovery:
So much so that she went out of her way to also get him a flower in the hopes that he would get better soon:
So please Anon, I’d ask that you reconsider labelling all of Sakura’s relationships with her peers as having been stagnant, and downplaying her as having a shitty personality because in terms of the growth of her character, she went from being obnoxiously ignorant towards the beginning, to a very caring person, and this was before even halfway through Part 1. By no means was her strength and her skills as a Kunoichi the only things about her that developed over time.
if sakura was so important to sasuke why he didn't try to kill her like he did with naruto? he tries to kill her in land of iron because she was an annoyance, but he's been trying to kill naruto since they were kids bc he knew how important naruto was to him and that was the only way to break their bond
Firstly Anon, if Sasuke had his way, he would have never fought Naruto at all. The only reason Sasuke had tried to kill Naruto from as early as their 1st fight at the Valley of the End, was because Naruto came to stop him; that was the reason every time. Sasuke wasn’t waiting in anticipation for Naruto to arrive so that he could fight and kill him. No, Sasuke was running away to Orochimaru’s place, and Naruto caught up and forced him to fight, so they did.
During the Land of Iron arc, you can clearly see Sasuke’s immense frustration with Naruto because he continuously kept “messing in [Sasuke’s] business”:
Sasuke wanted nothing to do with him, but Naruto kept forcing the issue every single time, so don’t go saying how Sakura was only an annoyance to Sasuke, because he clearly demonstrated here that the person he considered to be the largest annoyance, was Naruto.
Secondly...
“If Sakura was so important to Sasuke why he didn't try to kill her like he did with Naruto ?”
Anon, please think about how ridiculous that sentence sounds. You’re arguing that someone isn’t important to Sasuke because he didn’t try to kill them in a particular way. Goodness gracious.
Thirdly, as for the claim that Sasuke always had a deep reason to kill Naruto (which isn’t even true but I’ll get to that in a moment), why would that make his attempts on Naruto’s life any better anyway? Wanting to kill someone is wanting to kill someone; you’re still wanting that person out of your life forever. For all the times SNS extremists love to claim how SS fans apparently “romanticise abuse”, look at what you’re doing here - You’re actually trying to turn Sasuke’s numerous attempts at murdering Naruto into something positive, so you’re romanticising murder attempts, well done.
Lastly, as alluded to earlier, these attempts to dismiss SS by saying how Sasuke always had profound reason for wanting to kill Naruto (as if that makes it any better), whereas he wanted to kill Sakura simply because she was a nuisance - All those claims are rendered completely null and void by this one panel:
Sasuke clearly states here that he intended to kill Naruto simply on a whim, simply because he felt like it. There was no elaborate reason behind his murder attempt here. In this instance, Naruto was simply a nuisance, just like Sakura apparently was during the Land of Iron arc. And he was only stopped by Sai, the person least likely out of all of them to have prevented his attack.
flashfiction: five things i wish papa had been here to know (interlude)
title: five things i wish papa had been here to know (interlude) characters/pairings: sarada and sakura; implied sasusaku summary: life after his return takes some getting used to. notes: baasama told me a few days ago that she needed to cry. it was her birthday only this past Monday, so i’ve written her this present in the hopes that i can help. happy belated birthday, lola! <3 notes the second: the timeline in this fic series is shaky. i’d say this happens after the first but before the second installment (linked below for your convenience). also, this is me trying to inhabit sarada’s head. series: one | two
it is a thursday night, and mama and i are in the middle of an old war.
“what do you want me to do,” mama whispers, tired. “please tell me, because i’m so, so tired. i thought you might be happy that your father was coming home for a visit.”
“happy? happy?”
“sarada—”
“want more for yourself,” i railed. want more for me, i don’t say. "want everything! don’t you think you deserve it? because i do! you deserve everything in the world and yet it takes so little to make you happy. don’t you remember how he left us alone? and now i’m supposed to be satisfied because he’s deigned to visit us? because he lowered himself to remember that he has a wife and a child waiting at home for him?“
“sarada-chan,” mama whispered. she uses my childhood nickname only when i have hurt her, which—since That Man has come back into our lives—has happened more often than it used to. “please don’t think so badly of your father. i promise he has his reasons—he didn’t leave us because he wanted to, and he’s doing his best to make it up to you now that he’s able. please—”
“and what if his best isn’t good enough,” i challenge her waspishly. “what if i’ve seen what he has to offer and i don’t want any part of it? of him? what then?”
even as i say the words, even as mama’s face crumples and my heart thumps hollow in my chest, i know i’ve lied—i haven’t let myself see what He has to offer. i make myself scarce when she reads his letters aloud. i do not ask about their phone conversations. my words are half-hearted when i cannot escape the need to speak to him.
i haven’t been paying attention. how could i? what if this softness, so beloved in my mother—so much a part of what makes her so enviably strong—is a heritable trait?
what reason has he given that i should overlook his absence? what heart has he shown that i should forgive him his choices?
it isn’t until mama speaks into the silence i’ve borne that i realize i asked my questions aloud.
“when you love someone, you become able to accept them for what they are, even as you acknowledge their faults,” she says, her achingly gentle voice in stark contrast to the hold she has on my right hand. “your father is not a perfect man, but he is not a bad one, sarada-chan. i hope that one day you feel ready to forgive him, but i won’t force you to—it has to be your choice. all i can ask you to do is consider the possibility that there is a part of his story you don’t know.”
i try very hard not to feel that she has chosen his side over mine, but it’s a close thing. i brush her fingers away from my cheek, but to soothe her, i take her hand in mine. i rub the callouses on her fingertips—the marks of love she’s garnered from packing my lunches, and washing my clothes, from healing my hurts, and banishing my demons, from holding me close, and tucking me into sleep.
“if i could make myself love him just to make you happy, i would mama,” i say softly. “i love you so much i’d do anything to make you feel better about how everything with him has gone lately. i know you’re tired of arguing. i’m tired, too.”
in less than a moment’s time, i find myself surrounded by a curtain of soft, pink hair. mama’s arms are around me and i close my eyes, and i allow myself to think that i am eight years old again, just home from the academy, and unable to remember my father’s name during art class.
“i don’t want you to love him for anyone’s sake except yours, sarada-chan,” mama sighs into my neck. “don’t love him because you feel like i want you to. i just want you to be happy, whatever that takes. love him if you love him—you don’t need any other reason.”
“i love you mama,” i whimper. i do not want to cry, but very little about today has been about what i want. “i love you so much.”
“i love you too, little bean.”
we hold each other close. nothing’s been fixed, and i am still angry, but for a moment, i allow myself to forget the rage he brings me, and remember the love my mother inspires.

To the ask where Sasukes body moved on it's own: Didn't he just protected Sakura and Kakashi because they were next to Naruto? And I think that really makes sense. I don't think he would have safed them if they were out of reach of his Susanoo. He didn't safe them when they were falling into the lava either, the only one he cared about in those moments was Naruto. So I don't get why Naruto said his body moved on it's own when in lava scene Sasuke made absolutely no move to safe the others.
No he didn’t; That’s what Sasuke said on the surface, but Naruto saw through the act. Sasuke tried to make it seem like the only one he cared about was Naruto, but he wasn’t fooling anyone. Naruto said that Sasuke’s body just moved on it’s own to save them from the Infinite Tsukuyomi because that’s exactly what happened, as my previous point highlighted. With regards to the lava scene itself, after it was revealed that Kakashi had managed to save himself and Sakura from falling into the lava:
Naruto then asks “How?” because he was completely clueless as to what had happened. Sasuke however, was able to explain the entire situation to Naruto perfectly, without even having to look back to adequately assess the situation:
Why? Because he already knew what had happened. Prior to saving Naruto, Sasuke took a look back in Sakura and Kakashi’s direction and saw what Kakashi had done, and therefore knew that they’d survive. It was only after gaining this knowledge that Sasuke then went on to save Naruto:
Under the circumstances, if Kakashi hadn’t been able to make the save, then I can’t be sure of whether Sasuke would have still gone to save Naruto or if his body would have just “moved on it’s own” again to save Kakashi and Sakura, but I’d still probably go with the former. He had very clear goals and priorities after all, but Kakashi’s save just made his decision that much easier.
Sasuke then proceeded to act like Sakura and Kakashi were expendable:
But Naruto then references back to The Land of Waves where Sasuke’s body “Just moved on its own” to save him. The reason Naruto mentions what had transpired on the Bridge, was to prove to Sasuke (and the others), that Sasuke’s body had just subconsciously moved in order to save them from the Infinite Tsukuyomi, because he cared about them:
And Sasuke’s continued silence during the whole explanation just served to further prove Naruto’s point, because he had no rebuttal. Naruto then says that he’s sure Sasuke understands because that was now the second time he had done such a thing; To subconsciously move in order to save a comrade:
Naruto only used himself as an example for a hypothetical situation where he’d be in a similar position to Sasuke, and explained that his body would just move on its own to save them - just like Sasuke’s did. Because regardless of how much Sasuke tried to deny it or nonchalantly brush it off, Naruto could see through the deception because he knew there was still good in him.
