This needs to be said and I’m tagging everyone on this because its more than Jonghyun

According to a Dispatch interview with a close friend of Jonghyun, he died feeling like a failure and that he couldn’t live up to expectations. Can we please stop putting these idols on pedestals so high that the moment they don’t do as well, they feel like they will plummet into nothing? I would rather have my favorite groups announce they were never going release music again if it meant that they could focus on themselves and live happy lives. At the end of the day, I don’t need a new album. I don’t need a world tour. But what I do need is for my faves to get physical and mental rest. And to know that sales and views dont matter. What does matter, at least to me, is their happiness, them knowing their worth, and that they are enough. Jonghyun didn’t deserve to feel like he wasn’t enough, and no other idol should.

Mental illness is real and deadly, just because you don’t see blood doesn’t mean there is no bleeding. Just because you only see smiles on their faces doesn’t mean they don’t swallow tears. Just because they seem successful doesn’t mean they are happy. Depression, for example, makes you belittle yourself even if you are beautiful, rich and famous. Just like cancer, it spares NO ONE! So choose your words wisely even online. That stranger you dissed for a stupid reason may be holding into the last strings of hope and your word may be the bullet. That celebrity you hate for no reason may be devastated and lonely. That someone you always saw laughing today may finish his days tomorrow. So be kind and understanding, people. Just because you were lucky to not suffer like them doesn’t mean you can’t learn and understand. 

Today a very bright celebrity Jonghyun left and your favorite person may be next. He was handsome, rich, very talented, had millions of fans, a successful career, a huge house and expensive cars and killed himself while neglecting it all. Why? That’s what many people have been asking online:

 because when you are mentally sick, you get tired of battling yourself and even the money of the world seems meaningless. But you know the worst part? … Society judge mental illness so people keep it a secret. They hide it well and you when you ask “how are you” you automatically believe “fine” means fine. No it means ‘We are not close enough for me tell you’ or 'Even if I told you how will you understand’ or 'no one cares’ or 'there is no hope anyway’ or 'you will judge me’ … 

Most people value life and don’t understand how someone will willingly decide to give up and choose death. and many still ask: 

You know how hurt you feel when someone curses at you and you can’t even curse back because they have power over you? Imagine it like that person that scolded you to the point tears just came up. You felt lowered and hated. Of course, you will be sad for a moment but soon you will move on. Now imagine if that person was in your head 24/7 or pops up at unknown moments. Not letting you do simple things like sleeping or eating. When we hear something, again and again, we start to believe it and there is someone we always think will be truthful to us: ourselves. Just because we are saying it to ourselves we think it true and day after day … you get tired. Battling yourself is arduous and it’s at that time that nonexistence looks like the only solution to shut down the voices, reality and thoughts. So … don’t think of something like this as lightly and I hope this great man’s death will change the industry a little or at least the opinions.

It’s so surreal how in the last hour we got the news that a happy couple will be marrying. And now we get the news that an idol has passed away.

Please understand that idols are human beings, they aren’t gods. They put smiling faces in front of us, but we hardly know what they go through on a daily basis.

SHINEE’s Jonghyun left us at 27.  SHAWOLS deserve a warm hug from every fandom right now.

You all know how we feel sad when our artist has the smallest bruise on their body or do not tweet for 2 days and we start missing them … imagine losing the one who gave you some hope and joy in life forever. 

Shawols, dear Shawols. beautiful Shawols who are as blue and impressive as the vast sea. As a BTS’ ARMY, I will stand by you. And as a human, I will cry with you. Even if you grieve, be proud you followed that man. I am another group’s fan but I knew all along how very respected, talented and loved he was. He also took care of BTS along with the other Shinee members. They are great and loving seniors.

He may have left this world but every artist who touches hearts lives forever. So bear him warmly is your core. And draw him smiling and happy in your memory.

Shinee is a gem that needs to keep on shining like it always did. It’s at this time that you will need to stand by them the most. Stay strong and united. 

My deepest condolences go to his family, friends, fans, and Korea as a whole that just lost one of its immeasurable voices and souls. Rest in peace Jonghyun. You were so beaming, it will never dim.
