plums

my sister, plums, is in rehab. she had a twin but she died june 3, 2018 from an opioid overdose.

before she died her bf was locked up for a few months because of drug offenses and as soon as he got out they both left the state to get a fresh start. she reasoned that they could use this as an opportunity to get clean from drugs

a few weeks after leaving she was found passed out in front of a 7/11

an ambulance came and took her to a hospital where she remained in a coma for a few hours and then because she didn’t have an ID on her and her bf didn’t want to tell our family, we didn’t know that she passed away until 18 hours later

plums is still alive but she tried to overdose on opiates a month later. we don’t have much money but we were able to find a government funded program that would take her. their birthday just passed a week ago and plums is 21 now. it’s a bittersweet feeling when I visit her in rehab, she’s been sober for so long now and it’s nice seeing her this way, I just wish that plums and our other sister would have gotten sober sooner
