Mothwing!!

I LOVED my old Mothwing design and took some aspects from it in my new design. Mothwing is a character I have mixed feelings about.

For starters, I do not care that Mothwing is an atheist. As one myself, I'd be a hypocrite if I criticized the authors for making her not believe in StarClan despite seeing them for herself. That's all I'll be speaking about on this matter.

For the most part, I really enjoy Mothwing. I read her novella some years ago and when Mistystar took away her role, I was furious. However, I cannot excuse her treatment of Shadowsight. She was horrible to the poor boy and I despise how the authors wrote her. So out of character and it was baffling to read how she treated him. Bleh.

Other than that, I like Mothwing. I like MothPool as a ship and I think it's cute.

I've actually never drawn Lionheart before this and I'm shocked? For a guy who dies in the first book in the series, he's quite the popular guy. I don't have anything to say on Lionheart, other than I love his kids. His kids are so much fun and I adore all of them.

Reedshine!

I have a really old Reedshine design that I used for inspiration for her new design. I quite enjoy her new design and I think her blue eyes stand out really well against her pelt.

For my thoughts on Reedshine... She did nothing wrong. That's right, Reedshine did nothing wrong. She was cheated on by her mate, forgave him (for whatever reason), reacted to her mate's ThunderClan ex and dead children in a way that is normal, and reacted very expectedly when her mate was killed.

I feel like Reedshine has been villainized by the fandom because Mapleshade is an unreliable narrator and I love that she's written that way.

I think she and Appledusk would have really pretty kits and I urge you to browse my friend's @npdmapleshade 's page for their designs of AppleReed and AppleMaple's kits.

Appledusk redesign!

I've redesigned Appledusk a couple of times, but none of my designs felt true to how he's described in Mapleshade's Vengeance and in the designs of all of his kits. I decided to lean more toward the canon depiction of him, and I think I translated it rather well.

I've already gone over my thoughts of Appledusk in a prior post with an old design of him, so I won't regurgitate it here. I like how I've designed him now and I can't wait to design his kits.

Dustpelt!

I don't have much to say about Dustpelt. I find his kits to be far more interesting and, of course, Squirrelstar, who was his apprentice. I like Ferncloud and their kits more than I do Dustpelt. I just don't have anything more to say about him.

"I didn't want any of this to happen! The stars chose the wrong cat!" - Cashewpaw, medicine cat apprentice of WindClan.

As a new apprentice, Cashewpaw faces the harsh opinions of his Clanmates and fellow apprentices. Though he's grown used to it due to it starting when he was a kit, it still hurts that his Clanmates don't trust him because of his background.

When his mentor has an omen about him saving or destroying the Clan, Cashewpaw is more ostracized than ever. He tries to tell his Clanmates that he'd never harm any cat and that he's a healer, but it falls on deaf ears.

During a particularly harsh leafbare when prey is scarce and then is tainted with sickness leading to the deaths of many of his Clanmates, Cashewpaw turns to his mentor for emotional support. But when his mentor lashes out at him, Cashewpaw hits his breaking point, crying that he didn't want this to happen and that StarClan chose the wrong cat.

Whether or not he's right has yet to be seen.

Squirrelflight and Crowfeather's kits!

I have older designs of these three and I redesigned them over the course of a few days. As stated previously, in my AU, SquirrelCrow's kits are not part of the Power of Three prophecy. Despite this, I think Squirrelflight wouldn't pass them as Brambleclaw's as she wouldn't even be entertaining him as a mate. I think she'd raise them with the information that their father is a tricky subject and then introduce them to Crowfeather when they're apprenticed.

Onto the characters themselves and some of my thoughts/reasonings around them!

Cherryspots (formerly named Cherrycloud): Cherryspots is a spunky, rambunctious, ambitious, and kind-hearted she-cat. She was named after her red fur, and takes great pride in how well groomed she keeps her pelt. She's very much like her mother and was THRILLED when she was apprenticed under Brightheart. She thrived under her mentor's teachings and guidance, eventually growing more patient, learning when to use her energy, and have a good sense of morality and justice.

Shrewheart (formerly named Shrewpelt): Shrewheart is a quiet, calm, and thoughtful tom. He's observant and likes to go on border patrols and help guard the camp. He was named after Shrewpaw, which he holds with great- quiet- pride, hearing how his namesake sadly died drives him to be the best hunter ThunderClan has ever known. He was mentored by Sandstorm, who taught him everything she knows about how to catch even the trickiest of prey. He prides himself in knowing he's the best hunter, named after Shrewpaw, and was mentored by his grandmother-- the best hunter in ThunderClan... he comes as a close second.

Swiftstorm: Swiftstorm is a gentle, sentimental, and quiet tom. Like Shrewheart, Swiftstorm is thoughtful but more extroverted than his brother. Named after Swiftpaw and mentored by Longtail himself, Swiftstorm was immediately taught how to defend himself against dogs, badgers, and foxes. Swiftstorm's apprenticeship lasted a little longer than his siblings', but he's certain he learned far more due to it. Learning from a blind cat opened his mind and he developed tricks on how to better scent any animal. He's one of the best trackers in the Clan.

Hawkfrost x Leafpool is my go-to ship when it comes to Hawkfrost and I find it way more interesting, like with Squirrelflight and Hawkfrost. Like with what I said in relation to HawkSquirrel, I don't think Leafpool would wind up killing or harming Hawkfrost.

Unlike what I said with HawkSquirrel, I think she WOULD discover that she's expecting Hawkfrost's kits. I think Hawkfrost being the father- or even one of the fathers of the Three- would be very interesting. This would give Lionblaze a direct tie to Tigerstar and thus fueling his training in the Dark Forest.

I haven't really thought of my SquirrelFeather AU all that much, but Squirrelflight and Crowfeather's kits would not be the Three. I have some really old designs of SquirrelFeather's kits, which I might redesign and then design HawkPool's litter. Who knows...

Northstar ✨

I don't really post about my personal/private life because,,, it's my personal/private life and I try to keep things centered around Warriors, my OCs, and whatever else I draw because that's what my page is for.

BUUUUUUUUUT--

My partner has read the first arc of Warriors and has an understanding about the lore and such despite not reading really past The Prophecies Begin. I was laying in bed one night texting them and realized I have free will and made them a Warriorsona/OC.

I wanted the name to start with N since that's what my partner's name starts with, and North was on my mind due to where we live. Northstar spat out in my head and my partner was VERY hyped that they're a leader lmao. They're a dork.

I just like mashing together my favorite WC best boy and WC best girl, but it could have potential as FirexTiger or a love triangle with Brambleclaw.

Personally, I don't like having Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight being in a relationship/love triangle. I'm not a Brambleclaw/star fan in the slightest, so the only cat I ship him with is Jessy.

With HawkSquirrel, it could and WOULD get messy when Hawkfrost tries to kill Firestar, especially with Brambleclaw and Ashfur's help. I think Squirrelflight wouldn't see Hawkfrost as a "threat" upon first meeting him, instead he comes up to her at a Gathering after Brambleclaw is being Brambleclaw and they get to talking. The fact that he's also Tigerstar's son would be known, but since Squirrelflight never held it against Brambleclaw, she wouldn't hold it against Hawkfrost, like in the canon books.

Over time, they'd get closer and Hawkfrost might even try to get Squirrelflight on his side with the Dark Forest. They'd meet up at Gatherings until it progresses to borders or whatnots. Their relationship would inevitably end when Hawkfrost is killed and his plot to kill Firestar is exposed. But around that time is when Squirrelflight may realize she's expecting his kits.

I've never been sold on the idea of her carrying his kits, so my AU ends after Hawkfrost dies. Maybe in The Last Hope during the battle, they reunite and she kills him, but I hadn't thought about it until writing this.

The only cats I 100% ship Squirrelflight with are Crowfeather, Moonlight, and Leafstar.

Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf!

I love these three (mostly). Jayfeather and Hollyleaf are far more interesting to me than Lionblaze is, though he has his interesting moments from time to time. Especially in The Broken Code and how furious he was with Shadowsight??? Ate that shit up.

I wish more emphasis on Hollytuft being named and basically identical to Hollyleaf like Cinderheart was for Cinderpelt. Such character drama was sadly missed out on because who cares about minor characters, amiright?

Love On The Wind...

I have an AU where Squirrelflight and Crowfeather are together (dubbed the Squirrelfeather AU) based off of their chemistry in The New Prophecy. It's one of my favorite AUs that I've come up with and fleshed out and I do just love Crowfeather. He and Squirrelstar are in the top 5 favorite canon characters.

This is one of my favorite crack ships, lmao. HawkSquirrel never would've worked out in canon, but I ship Squirrelflight with anyone but Brambleclaw. I've always enjoyed Hawkfrost and I really like his design and while I've significantly chilled out with shipping these two, I still wanted to draw them.

I'm also in a bit of a Squirrelflight mood since my stress relief post. The fandom always needs more Squilf art.
