I'm looking to become an English teacher in Korea with my best friend, but we recently heard that they're going to be phasing out native English speaking teachers in 2014? Now, I'm not going to be anywhere near ready to go to Korea by then, so is there no hope for us being able to teach in Korea after that?
Hey, just saw your question. I haven't heard that they are phasing out native teachers altogether, but Seoul is certainly cutting back. Don't worry though. There will be a need for native teachers all over Korea...you just might not end up in Seoul working as a public school teacher is all. Annndd if you are truly set on Seoul, there are always hagwons (private English academies).
