์๋ SURAN - I Feelย
Hey, can you tell me what '์ํย ๋ชจ๋ย ์ฉํ๋ธย ๋ค์' means? (It's from the song I Feel by Suran)
์ํ ๋ชจ๋ ์ฉํ๋ธ ๋ค์All the pain is collecting dust.
์ํ = Pain
๋ชจ๋ = all
์ํ(์) ๋ชจ๋ = all the pain
์ฉํ๋ค = to collect dust
PS. this is not a 100% accurate translation. The expressions Suran used in this song are poetic and are much harder to explain in English with a translation, keep that in mind as you read this.

How did you start learning Korean?
I originally was interested in Japanese stuff more like anime, manga, and Jpop. But then as I was binge watching Jdramas I came across boys over flowers (่ฑใใ็ทๅญ) the Japanese ver. and I liked the story but I wasnโt a big fan of the production value of the Jdrama and was also a little curious how the remake (๊ฝ๋ณด๋ค ๋จ์) was. So after watching it I started to search for more shows and that is how I got into the Korean โstuffโ.ย
From a technical perspective though, I started learning Korean by learning Hangul and later reading Korean blogs, watching dramas, reading webtoons, and searching for words and grammar rules that I donโt understand in all of the previous listed activities that I come across online ^^
What's the meaning of '์ด๋ ๊ฒ'?
์ด๋ ๊ฒ ํด๋ผ
Do it this way.
์ด๋ ๊ฒ = like this/ this way
์๋ ์๋ ์, ํ ์์ด ์๋ฆ๋ค์ด ๋ธ๊ณผ ํจ๊ป ์ด๊ณ ์์์ด์
Once upon a time, there lived a king with a beautiful daughter.
์๋ ์๋ ์ = Once upon a time
์ = king
์๋ฆ๋ต๋ค = ย beautiful/ gorgeous ย
๋ธ =ย daughter
ํจ๊ป = together
์ด๋ค = to live
์ต์ ์ ๋คํ๋ฉด ๋ชปํ ์ผ์ด ์๋ ๊ฒ ๊ฐ์์
I guess there's nothing we can't do if we try our best.
์ต์ ์ ๋คํ๋ค = to do oneโs best
...- ๋ฉด= if ...
๋ชปํ ์ผ = a thing we canโt do
์๋ค = to not exist
ํ๊ตญ์ด๋ฅผ ์ด๋์ ๋ฐฐ์ฐ์ จ๋๋ฐ ์ด๋ ๊ฒ ์ํ์ธ์? That means, "how are you so good at Korean!" I'm a Korean American who stumbled across this blog and it is amazing! It even taught me more about Korean! By any chance, are you Korean?
์ธํฐ๋ท์ผ๋ก ๋ ํํ์ด์
๋ is the same as ๋๋ right? Could I also drop the ใด & ๋ and keep it as ๋ when speaking informally?
Yes,ย ๋ is the shortened form ofย ๋๋.
Kind of, people sometimes omit the markers when speaking. So I guess you can, but probably not in all situations.
์๋ ํ์ธ์, I don't really know how to use ๋/์. I watched a Video and they said it means "as for___" ex. ์ ๋ means "as for me". I don't really know if it's right and like I said I don't know how to use it. It would be very nice if you can help me. ๊ฐ์ฌํฉ๋๋ค :)
I got you, donโt worry!
so โas for ....โ = ย -๋/์ is correct. Even though it is translated as ์ ๋ = I am, itโs literal translation would be โas for meโ, but that is not the only thing.
-๋/์ is a topic marker
This means that you are helping the listener to identify what/who you are talking about, thus in a lot of cases it will be an alternative for the subject marker.
but there is more to it. it can be used to mean: โunlike other things, ..) which is a mean of contrast.
Koreans will drop this particle in spoken Korean in a lot of cases and mainly only use it to emphasize the topic in contrast to the other parts of the sentence.
Hope this helps..... Donโt stress a lot on this one grammar point, as you will get used to it when you continue learning. It is harder to explain than to use, so donโt worry and make mistakes in order to learn.
