Damian wayne is a no nonsense type of person. Everything in his place serves a purpose. He's meticulous, efficient, and hates useless things.
But you made this one goddamnit.
Damian Wayne, who wouldn't be caught dead buying such frivolities for himself, has a line of knick knacks on his desk; serving no purpose other than to collect dust (which he does not let happen, thank you very much)
Simply because they were made by you.
"Gift." You say. Grinning as you handed him your latest creation: a small crocheted keychain of a bunny with a leaf on its head.
"Tsk, what nonsense is it this time?" He grumbles back. Still pocketing his latest treasure for later.
The next time you see him, it's hanging from his backpack.
Damian Wayne, who likes to take his work into the living room just so he can sit with you while you craft. You'd finish part of it, look up, and he'd already be watching.
You'd give him a giddy smile and show it to him with a soft "Ta-da!", and he'd give you a small nod in approval that would prompt you to continue.
He's the first to use almost everything you make.
Damian Wayne, who automatically assumes that you made it for him unless stated otherwise. Knitting a hat? Cool. As soon as you're done with it, it's on his head. Made a random tray out of clay that you don't have a use for yet? Don't worry about it, it's already on his desk. Crocheted a cute plushie for practice? Both of you are in his arms in a matter of seconds.
It's quality control.
Though, by far his favorite is when you make things for yourself.
You can wear them while he traces your skin with his fingers.
Feeling every bump and stitch as he petted every part of you, leaving kisses over every inch.
The charms that cascade from your neck clink together as you shake.
Pretty thing, wrapped in pretty things and making pretty sounds.
Then you'd walk out into the world, decorated in the same bits, baubles, and garments from last night; looking so soft and sweet, blushing madly every time you look down at yourself.
My brain has been rotting over this idea that Damian Wayne would fall in love with a paramedic.
He loves how strong and brave and kind you are. You'd come home after work and you two would sit together, he'd lean into your side with his head on your shoulder and arms wrapped around you, playing with your fingers. He'd listen while you talked about your day and all the calls you worked on, and then after he would pull you into bed and kiss you right over your heart and remind you how much good you do.
On the really bad days? The ones where you would come home numb with a hollow look in your eyes. He'd walk up to you as you closed the door behind you and pull you in. He'd let you break down in his arms and press your ear to his heart; let you listen to his heartbeat. Days like this remind you just how fragile people's lives are, and how cruel the world can be.
What I really think about though, is how the rest of the family would find out:
I don't think Damian would hide the fact that he's a vigilante from you, mainly because he feels this kinship with you and the similar reasons you both do what you do.
One day They would all come back from patrol battered and bruised (too much work for alfred to do on his own) and Damian just casually picks up his phone to call you.
You get there, make it down to the cave (because of course he would tell you how to get into the cave) give him a kiss on the lips and then start patching him up while Alfred is giving bruce some stitches.
Let's just say his brothers would not stop pestering him after that.
I'm thinking about an mxm best friends to lovers arc with Damian Wayne that starts when they're about 14-15 years old. The reader just starts to realize he likes boys and might have a crush on Damian, but Damian gets his first girlfriend.
And then reader after laik a year or so of pining for Damian while he still has a girlfriend will decide to try to move on and explore dating other guys. All the while still kinda closeted from Damian. And then when Damian and Reader are at a highschool party together Damian finds out because he catches reader snogging a guy in a corner of the room and doesn't exactly know how he feels about it.
They start drifting apart after that but they both rationalize it in their heads that it's because they're both kinda engrossed in their own relationships. Every time they tried to plan something together they both would end up with some sort of excuse and their plans never pushed through.
Damian would see reader and his boyfriend in the halls and didn't like the feeling it gave him. He'd eventually break it off with his girlfriend at the time because it "didn't feel right" anymore. Reader starts trying to reach out a little more to hang out as friends and sometimes even invites Damian to hangout with him and his boyfriend sometimes but again Damian would find excuses not to go.
It starts getting really frustrating for reader because all he wants is to remain friends but they're drifting farther and farther apart. He ends up confronting Damian about it one day after school.
Look. I get, okay? I know I should have told you I was gay sooner and I know that must have hurt you and I'm sorry. Just- is this really all it takes? Is me not telling you I'm gay enough for us not to be friends anymore?
When reader didn't get an answer he concluded the conversation, himself.
okay... he inhaled, almost bracing himself before continuing I'm sorry I made you uncomfortable.
And then he left.
Come senior year, Damian had a new girlfriend and reader had just broken up with his boyfriend a few months ago. They haven't talked in almost a year and have fully drifted apart at this point.
That is, until they find out they're going to the same University.
Reader ends up reaching out again. They're going to an entirely different state, you know? It'd be nice to live with someone they knew.
Damian has his girlfriend over sometimes and reader ends up making friends with them. The three of them are almost always together. Reader opens up to Damian about wanting to date again and that for some reason doesn't sit right with Damian (again).
Damian's girlfriend breaks up with him at some point during college and he doesn't attempt to date again. Reader had a few escapades throughout but nothing too serious.
They both graduated college and are both single at the same time after a really long time (not that that's significant). Reader goes to work, he goes to work, you both end up back in Gotham.
For some reason, on a random Tuesday, reader decides to text him good morning and invite him to coffee.
They do it almost every day now. For the past like, 2 years.
On one of these morning coffee meet-ups, They were sitting next to each other in one of those cozy corner stalls. Damian had an arm draped over the back of the settee and reader was leaning into his side recounting the events that happened at his work yesterday. He looked up at Damian and smiled.

Kenji reads to me as like the quality time + gift-giving type of golden retriever boyfriend. He takes you on all the well-planned dates and gives you sentimental gifts and wouldn't hesitate to drop anything and everything if you need them you know?
Darius to me is the acts of service + physical touch type of golden retriever boyfriend. He's the type to constantly be glued to your side "attached at the hip" style. He'd follow you around, constantly take care of you, and take any opportunity to hold you that he can get.
One day, for shits and giggles, Bruce asks the JL which of his kids they think has the highest kill count. Naturally everyone assumes it’s Bruces estranged Crime Lord son. Other’s assume it’s his literal ex-assassin child.
Bruce, whips out a PowerPoint with statistics and next to Tim’s name is just a question mark.
“I know it’s Tim,” Bruce finally says, “I just don’t have enough evidence to back it up.”
The JL is ready to defend this kid, because he doesn’t seem the type, but Red tornado, who was a den mother for the young Justice team, and flash, who has a great relationship with his family both nod along with bruce. Which is a relief, because Bruce swears he’s being gaslit by his third youngest. Bruce still loves him, but Tim is crazy(affectionate) and no one else seems to see it.
If I had a nickel for every time a Hellaverse father was a depressed, lonely, wacky little guy, who is sort of alienated from his daughter due to circumstances but is trying his best, then I’D HAVE THREE GODDAMN NICKELS GODDAMMIT VIV I’M ALREADY SO ATTACHED GIVE ME A BREAK

The flirting started as a joke.
Husk was always so grumpy and gruff. Annoying him was fun.
When Angel flirted with him for the first time and he got all agressive and hissy— Husk truly looked like a grumpy old cat and Angel? He found it amusing.
So he had a little fun.
After work he'd walk up to the bar, order a drink, and flirt with him. He'd get to see Husk squirm and grumble and he'd get a good laugh out of it.
Everyday.
But then days turned into a weeks and…
Well…
Angel got too comfortable. At least, that's what he figured happened. He'd spilled his guts to Husk just one too many times and now?
Now he's started giving him advice. Now he thinks he knows enough to start butting into Angel's business.
Fucking bartenders.
Flirting went from a joke to a distraction.
Husk's words hitting a little too close to home?
Flirt.
Husk looking too deeply past his facade?

Husk remembering bits and peices from their old conversations…

Remembering his favorite cocktails; knowing which one he needs when he needs it…

Husk listening. Just listening and looking right into his eyes without a shred of disdain or judgement. Even saying the sweetest things sometimes…

It came to a point that he couldn't deny it anymore.
The flirting went from distracting husk to distracting himself.
Then husk called him out.
And Angel got scared.
So he got angry.
And when Husk told him to cut the shit because it wasn't ever gonna work on him? That?
That fucking hurt.
And then Husk had to come and try to help him? Had to cut him deep, bleed him out, and then somehow patch him up with the most stupidly sweet words and the damn cozy comforting presence that he is?
Fuck it.
He used to say “I need you.” to hide how much he was breaking, and now?
Now, he let Husk see how he was breaking, see how much he struggled and cried. He let the world see himself, if only to hide from Husk how much he wanted to say “I need you.”
“Eh. You fuck one cannibal pool boy, you've fucked ‘em all.”
“Wow, guess you have changed.”
“Hey, Charlie said live however we want to tonight.”
Angel paused.
No, not today.
“So pour me a new one and let's get to livin’!”
Angel watched as Husk turned his back to him to pour him another drink, his deep voice shaking his shoulders as he chuckled making Angel feel that warmth rise in his heart again.
Somehow the back of this man— despite his actual stature— felt so much bigger and stronger than it looked.

It started with an otherwise forgettable conversation.
You lived with Damian in a two bedroom apartment off campus. Less restrictions, a proper kitchen, and more living space meant that it was easier to have people over.
You invited your friends over at least once a week. Damian had said he didn't mind, he had at least one of his brothers over to stay the night about as often. He would even join you and your friends in the living room sometimes, sitting with you or off to the side with a book in his hand and only adding to the conversation when he's addressed.
On one such occasion, you and your friends were hanging around in the living room and Damian had just excused himself to the kitchen to grab something after asking everyone if they wanted a drink too.
" Oh, it's alright. I can get them." you said to him.
" I'll get them."
straightforward and brief, like he always was. Most people would think it was rude, but you knew he didn't mean it that way. He just didn't know how to express himself otherwise, especially around people he wasn't particularly close to.
" Are you sure? I can help." you were halfway standing now, ready to follow him into the kitchen and help.
"I'll be fine. hangout with your friends." He said, taking a pillow and pushing it into your chest. He wasn't rough with it, it was more of a gesture that said 'sit down and get comfy'.
"Ok, just-" he turned back around to face you, halfway to the kitchen. "Call for me if you need help."
"I know."
"Ew dude, you act like you're his wife or something."
it was a comment made with no malicious intent, simply meant to tease. Your friend gave you a playful shove when he said it.
You laughed, "The fuck is that supposed to mean?"
Another one of your friends piped up saying, "Yeah, you guys are like super domestic with each other."
"It's not a big deal bro just kinda funny you know?" Your third friend said, leaning back into the sofa cushions, "All that's left is for you to give him kisses and call him cute nicknames."
You knew they were saying it as a joke.
And you have no idea what was going on in your head but for some reason-
You took it as a challenge.
"Are you gonna be all lovey dovey from now on?" The friend beside you laughed, getting all up in your space and batting his eyelashes.
You shoved his face away with a laugh of your own, "You guys are assholes."
You heard familiar footsteps and got up from your chair. With a quick glance to your friends and their disbelieving grins, you walked right up to Damian as he entered the room.
"You're back!" you say joyfully, placing an arm around his waist.
Taking the tray from him, you give him a gentle kiss on the cheek. "Thanks, honey."
Though he'd personally never put his own children through what he was put through, he is proud of what all those grueling years of training have taught him.
No, not the violence.
The discipline.
He takes pride in his demeanor. He was raised to carry himself with a certain elegance— class; refinement.
His cadence is firm; authoritative. His back straight, head held high, just as what is expected of him.
The heir to the Wayne family.
But in the dark and quiet? Where all he can feel is your skin against his and the soft bedding that rumples just the right way when his body moves against yours?
He'd hold onto you for dear life; begging, pleading, clawing at your skin for more.
He could do this for hours. Just an endless chorus of incoherent babbling. His throat would be sore and dry after. Even then he'd hold you close, stuff his face into the crook of your neck and mumble and moan and hum.
He'd keep running his fingers up and down your body, let his legs tangle with yours, pull you impossibly close so that every inch of his skin was moving against you in some way.
He'd be absolutely spent but still crave your touch endlessly.
The babbling gets worse when you call him beautiful.
Because it's true; he is beautiful. Especially like this.
Sometimes you just can't help but voice it.
"you're so beautiful."
His breath would hitch, his voice weakening.
His grip would tighten— almost bruising.
His shoulders would tremble and his brows would furrow.
His voice would come out in a pathetic whimper, and he'd melt into you.
"So, so beautiful, beloved."
Then all at once, as if his senses were returning to him, his movements would get frantic. It would feel desperate; he'd force you and him together harder, faster.
he'd all but scream for you, unable to go that far because of the painful scraping of his throat.
"Ah... Auh! Yes! Augh fuck!"
Finally, he'd cry out for the last time that night.
He'd come down from his high and say over and over again,
" I love you... I love you so much..."
Whisper it into your hair, mumble it into your fingers and your neck, kiss it into your chest — your heart.
" I love you so... much..."
Eventually, he'd fall asleep. the same words still on his lips, whispering it one more time into your cheek as he peppered your face with kisses. Holding you close in this irreplaceable warmth, breathing in your scent that makes him feel at home.
