Pirini

The Phantom Sail Mon | Ghost / Dragon Pirini float aimlessly above the ancient sea, waiting to spot unsuspecting prey along the surface. Their remains have never been found on dry land- superstition says they were cursed to never leave the water.

Navleet

- Single form, Fleet form - The Navy Mon | Water Small and unassuming on its own, Navleet prefer grouping together for protection and stability in rough waters. When grouped, one will become designated as leader.

Minstro

The Melody Spore Mon | Fire / Normal Minstro are ancient fungal mons which grew very tall stalks. Their hollow body resonated well when they sang, and their stalks helped amplify their volume to reach out for miles.

Wastrolo | Astorella

The Astrology Mon | Psychic / Rock With shells made of a glass-like substance, they may have struggled to carry their own weight through the water. Wastrolo are found most in shallower waters, where they could rest and stargaze.

The Astrology Mon | Psychic / Rock Astorella's constant upward gaze is believed to be because they find each other using the stars. Their dark, glittering shells show star patterns unfamiliar to our modern sky.

Unigenia

The Fantastical Mon | Normal / Fairy Unigenia fossil remains have confused researchers since their discovery. The one consistency between specimens is a prominent spiralled horn on their supposed head.

Laurean forms!

-Laurean Colossile- The Amalgam Mon | Ghost / Dragon Sticky and slime-like, it sucks prey into its body to absorb their essence. Its body changes colors as it gains nutrients and spirit.

-Laurean Crinclub- The Natural Armor Mon | Fighting Despite its easygoing nature, its body is rock-hard. They like using the ocean current to give its limbs extra strength for attacks.

finally working on trainer sprites :) here's what i have so far (names under cut)

top row are all player character templates- basically all the same character, which i've dubbed monday, but each one has its own name i gave. left to right: holiday, then sunday-saturday

middle row:

dogwood (professor)

katherine (rival character)

trina and tristan (twins, traditional player characters but are rivals functionally here)

izzy (first gym, bug type)

owen (second or fourth gym, dark type)

Minomy | Foralabe

The Astronomy Mon | Ice / Psychic Minomy interact with their environment with methodical and precise movements using feelers. Chitinous shell fossils litter the ancient sea floor.

The Astronomy Mon | Ice / Psychic Foralabe's shell has a special compound which can manipulate light and become invisible within water. Once anything gets within reach, there is no escape from its psychic pull.

Scalink | Defendron

The Armor Bark Mon | Steel / Grass Scalink absorb heavy metals from the earth and deposit into bark, creating a strong armor. Believed to have rapid growth, Scalink must break and shed this bark often, and is vulnerable until a new bark forms.

The Armor Bark Mon | Steel / Grass With unrivaled durability, Defendron are believed to have been very docile with no real predators. Modern science has still not found a way to replicate its bark alloy.

Terriffin

The Big Wing Mon | Bug / Flying Considered the rules of the first primordial forests, before larger mons would take their place. Terrifin are excellent flyers, able to maneuver through thick foliage with ease.

Colowag | Ampheid | Diplague

The Amphibious Mon | Poison This mon's weak and squishy body belies the dangerous bacteria living in its body. This bacteria causes violent illness in any that dare try to prey upon it.

The Amphibious Mon | Poison Believed to live a lonely life, with others avoiding the deathly touch of their spines. Because of this, they show no fear.

The Infectious Mon | Poison / Dragon Where they travel, death follows. Ancient dead wetlands are believed to be Diplague nesting grounds, as they very rarely show signs of other life.

Lumostra | Lumizoa

The Soft Glow Mon | Electric Small and plentiful, Lumostra are often preyed upon by much of Laurea's ocean life. It's believed that they become active at night because they see the stars as others of their kind.

The Illuminated Mon | Electric Lumizoa's bright illumination serves as a warning of the strong electricity coursing through it. Lumostra often hide in their skirts for protection, following as they navigate using the stars.

Wiwite

The Scribe Mon | Flying The soft, downy wings allow Wiwite to lazily drift through the wind, or to swim along the water's surface. As long as its armored body stays safe, it can regrow these wings indefinitely- which predators take advantage of.

Artilloid

The Ignite Mon | Fire Artilloid's hard plates allow it to lock in place and build up incredible pressure. The elastic body then allows its head to shoot outward with incredible speed, once that pressure is released.

Ambrite

The Radiant Mon | Fairy Cavities in the shells maintain buoyancy so that Ambrite can swim gracefully through the sea with their tentacles. Their shells were their only remnants, the dazzling colors being well preserved.
