Hello everyone, this is going to be a post addressing the most recent post from phantasmatoucan / gyouuugyouuu / viridescenttemple, known in this community as Owl / mod Owl, and given my former close friendship with her, I feel like I can't stay silent and must address this directly. You can read her post here, if you'd like the context, though beware content warnings for grooming and suggestive drawings, stay safe everyone.
First and foremost, I already did so privately, but I wanted to do it publicly, too, I am offering all my support to Ougua (the victim), and wish them nothing but the best and to move on from this awful experience. Secondly, I absolutely do not condone or support Owl's actions. I think what she did was extremely inappropriate as Ougua was 15 at the time, and, to my knowledge, Owl was fully aware of that. And while I do not believe that her actions had malicious intent or were made with intent to hurt, it almost does not matter when negligence, immaturity, cowardice, and lack of accountability are permeating every aspect of this situation, and those can absolutely hurt, which is what happened here.
The original callout document was posted on August 4th, 2025, two months ago, and she only now chose to address it, after some internal pressure from a former friend who was aware of the situation. She lied to many of us, to many of my friends who were all part of the same group as her. Some of us considered her to be one of our close friends in the StP community, and none of us knew anything about this situation. I am not going to speak for other people, but as for me, I was very hurt to learn that someone I confided in a lot and shared a lot of my creations and passion projects with, turned out to be a groomer and a liar.
And I guess that's the primary reason I wanted to address this publicly. I was always very openly friends with Owl, and she directly told me that I'm the reason she "felt welcomed in the fandom enough", which in hindsight makes me quite upset, but I digress, that's not the point of this post. The point is, I want to publicly denounce Owl's actions, and to spread awareness of the situation, to make sure it doesn't go unnoticed. So there's that.
Some minor things to note: I am aware that I made a lot of art for Owl in the past, as she did for me. I have also reblogged a lot of art from Owl in the past. I am not going to delete any of those because I don't wish to pretend like I never associated with Owl in the first place, that would be quite disingenuous of me. Though, I did disable reblogs on all of my posts that feature drawings I made for her, just to be extra safe and not have them be shared further.
Thank you for listening to me! I would talk about more stuff, but frankly, most of it would be personal grievances and hurts, and I'm not sure if I'd like to share those publicly. Though, if anyone has any questions for me, feel free to leave them here in the replies, I'll do my best to respond the best I can (I do want to be respectful of Ougua though, and most of the stuff I do know is from the post anyway, so probably don't ask me about that).
