I think the biggest shit that gets me on Monogatari isn’t the fanservice, nor the boobs nor the comedy but how characters are written, more with Koyomi tbqh.

Koyomi whole character bio at the start of Kizu and Bake was: My life ain’t worth nothing, so dying for someone it’s the only good thing I can accomplish.

Now, thanks to everyone he meets on the way that thought process is eliminated completely.

What Monogatari does best, is making Koyomi suffer... and keeping it that way. Koyomi never get’s his way in Monogatari, no one ever ends up happy and shit always goes to the shitter for everyone but that’s fine. Just like real life, suffering is something you can’t avoid it’ll happen when you least expect it the most or it can come in long periods of times... but just because you suffer today, doesn’t mean you’ll suffer tomorrow or the next day.

With all the people Koyomi met in his daily life, his suffering became less and less and friendo I’m sure yours will become less the more open and close you become with the people you like.
