[INTERVIEW] [Birthday Talk To You] Block B’s U-Kwon “Birthday present? I want our mini-album to make it to 1st place”

April 9 is Block B’s member U-Kwon (Kim Yukwon)’s birthday, whose mini-album release is approaching as ‘Blooming Period’’s release is scheduled for this upcoming April 11 at midnight. He was born on April 9th, 1992.
Despite not being able to have a stress-free birthday due to his Japanese showcase and comeback preparations, Focus News listened to a birthday talk full of gratefulness from U-Kwon, who spoke with a positive mindset.
- Q. [It’s your birthday, how do you feel?]
▲ UK: My birthday isn’t a special day, but having a reporter ask me about my birthday feelings like this makes me feel thankful and touched.
- Q. [What does your birthday mean to you?]
▲ UK: It has many meanings, but among them the biggest meaning for me it’s that it’s a day in which I am thankful for my parents who gave birth to me so that I could exist in this world.
- Q. [What are your thoughts on getting older?]
▲ UK: I still don’t think of getting older as only a bad thing. As I’ve grown older year by year, I think I’ve slowly started maturing more.
Q. [What are the words you hate to hear and love to hear the most on your birthday?]
▲ UK: Hm, well, obviously since it’s my birthday it’s nice to hear ‘What should I give you as a present?’. It’s not because I like getting presents, but rather because I want to hear those words that make me feel they knew it was my birthday and want to congratulate me. As for words I don’t like, I think no matter what anyone says it’s a nice day so there’s nothing I particularly dislike.
- Q. [What was your conception dream?]
▲ UK: They told me it was a tiger on our garden…haha
- Q. [Some of the special presents you’ve received include…?]
▲ UK: If they’re presents full of someone’s heart, then all of them are special. If I have to pick among those, I’d choose the delicious cookies that a fan made for me. I love you, my BBCs!
- Q. [Is there a birthday present you’d like?]
▲ UK: No matter what, Block B’s mini-album is now about to be released so the birthday present I want is for the mini-album to make it to #1. Haha.
- Q. [If you were given a break for your birthday, what would you like to do?]
▲ UK: I would like to leave on a trip to heal. Anywhere’s fine, but if I were together with BBC I think it’d be the best ever.
- Q. [Is there any star you’d like to congratulate you?]
▲ UK: I want to be congratulated by the members of Block B who have a comeback coming ahead. Hehe.
- Q. [What was your birthday wish when you were a kid?]
▲ UK: When I was a kid, my wish was to ‘become Superman’. Of course, it was a dream hard to accomplish.
- Q. [If you had to imagine your birthday in 10 years from now?]
▲ UK: I don’t know. Hahaha
- Q. [Is there anyone you’d like to thank on your birthday?]
▲UK: I’d like to thank my parents who gave birth to me and our fanclub, BBC. I love you.

▲UK: Hello. This is U-Kwon. Today is my birthday. Please congratulate me ^^ I love you.
