➪ note: this is my first imagine so i apologise if it’s not that good bUt i love day6 and only just realised how little people write for them and so decided to write this. i love how passionate jae is when he’s talking about or playing his guitar and took that as slight inspiration for this imagine. i hope you guys enjoy and if you could give me feedback on how to improve id really appreciate it!

You had played the ukulele for years, but this wasn’t like that. It wasn’t the worst pain you’d ever been in in your entire life, far from it. In fact it really wasn’t that bad but for some reason, in your mind, your fingers were being sliced open by the metal strings of the guitar.

Jae had agreed to teach you to play the instrument when you mentioned that you tried to play when you were younger. You had gotten a guitar for your birthday one year, you were big into music and at the time it seemed like a good decision then. However, you soon discovered that learning to play the string instrument was hard, and that it was made even harder when you had to try and teach yourself with nothing to assist you other than Youtube. Your parents said that you could have lessons if you paid for them yourself which, of course, was impossible considering the fact that you were thirteen and had no way to make any money. 

You tried to learn the instrument for a few weeks before inevitably giving up. You hadn’t really picked up a string instrument other than your ukulele ever since and upon discovering that, your boyfriend Jae offered to give you lessons on how to play his signature instrument. 

So here you were, sitting on his lap as your fingers slowly pressed down on the metal strings, Jae’s hands holding yours, placing your fingers wherever they needed to be. After years of pressing down on nylon strings the sudden change to the cold, metal ones that were now rubbing against your fingers and the pressure that Jae was subconsciously using to keep them in place was causing the pads of your fingers to redden and ache. But despite the slight pain, the noise coming from the guitar was beautiful and melodic as you gently strummed the strings, recognising some of the chords you were playing as you did so.

Sungjin ~ Warm and strong, yes, but also slow and sensual 😍 Plenty of cuddling and holding you close 🤗 Maybe there isn't much movement that goes into but it's just because he loves that element of your body warmth 💕 A winter snuggler and kisser for sure ❄💙 I mean he likes kissing you all year round of course but there's something about keeping each other warm with your love that makes him melt more 🥰 and for sure, there's no one's arms in which you will ever feel more secure 🤗

Jae ~ Can't not smile into kisses 🤭 Is equally a fan of your lips as you are of his 😚 Will probably say the most random things in between kisses from your plans this week to some conspiracy theory to telling you what he fancies for dinner 🤣 A little pecks on the lips type of guy because he has to keep backing off to look at your face ☺️ A spontaneous kisser, creating unforgettable moments even if they might seem a bit cliche 💖 Kissing you in the rain when neither of you were prepared for the weather and he just embraces it, or takes you to the top of a building or up a hill with a beautiful city view and kisses you there 😘 His timing is 👌 and would basically make a great on screen kisser in a movie because even though sometimes he can be an absolute dork with the kissing, these are the times in which he is nothing but smooth 😏

Young K ~ A feeler, a hand wanderer 👀 Hands feeling your waist and hips (let's be honest, probably the butt too 🍑) whilst he passionately kisses you 💋 but he isn't just lustful, he's sweet too 😊 Pulling back to say "I love you" and caressing your cheek and/or complimenting you on how nice you look today 😇 Also low key likes it if you're wearing lipstick and is ends up smudged all over his lips, around his mouth and on his cheeks and/or neck (which out of the latter two depend on how spicy the kissing session gets 🌶😎) I feel like he can also get quite playful whenever he wants you to kiss him like he just cutely asks you to come sit on his lap and so you do and then he's puckering his lips like "give us a kiss" 😘 Oh and definitely into hugging you from behind whilst you're busy so he can kiss your neck or your cheek and swivel you round for a kiss on the lips 💕

Wonpil ~ Loving and romantic 💕 Perhaps a bit giggly at first but once he eases into it wowwwwwwwwww 🤩 He does that "varying pressure thing that foreign boys do" because lmao me and my friend re-watched Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging last night 🤣 but seriously, he takes you through the motions with a nice mix of pecks on the lips to soft gentle kisses that last a moment or two to the more intense ones that make you feel a certain way 👀 He likes to cup your face with his hands and there's no wrong way for you to kiss him so anyone that is lucky enough to kiss Wonpil needn't worry if they feel too inexperienced 🤗

Dowoon ~ Little giggly bean 🤭 Especially if he sort of hums with the kiss because he'll just back away and giggle 😆 Spurts out a bunch of "sorry"s for getting giggly and you probably have to shush him by pulling him in to kiss him, like properly-press-your-lips-against-his-and-make-him-feel-fuzzy kind of kiss him 😘 I think he just generally gets shy and embarrassed when he shows any signs of affection so you have to be patient with him 🥺 Let this little squish know that you like it when he gets into the kissing the way he does and that there's nothing to feel embarrassed by 😊 He's probably just not a very public kisser so maybe keep it to a kiss on the cheek when people are around so he doesn't feel uncomfortable ✌

Lately, I keep imagining cuddling with day6, especially Jae and Wonpil, and just talking about life, random thoughts and memories, future plans, or maybe scrolling through content together.. Hey there 🐥 anon 😊 I don't think tumblr ate your asks, I still have some in my box, I'm just being rubbish at replying I'm sorry 🥺 it's been a while since I've had time to just properly sit down and relax with my writing and not worry I have to be somewhere 😖 I guess with some day6 thoughts, I sort of like to reply when I know I have plenty of time and a fuller response for the idea too because I like to not force it and I try to make it all worth reading so that I don't leave anything or anyone out if that makes sense?

This soft thought is totally what I need right now 😩 cuddle6 is what I'm feeling right now 🥺 I want to come home to my Wonpillow or my Snugjin (not a typo, I'm being gay6,) and I wish I had puns for the other members but I would happily come home to them and their cuddles too!

Now Wonpil is definitely a matching sweaters and snuggling on the couch kind of guy and he asks you about your day and then that goes into some other conversation topic and before you know it, it's bedtime but even in just a couple of hours, you talked about 100 different things and that was different to yesterday, and the day before, and so on.

Oh, and he's definitely petting your head and playing with your hair as you rest on his shoulder 😊 and omg the way his eyes glow when he's talking about something he's enthusiastic about and that feeling you get when you notice he has that sparkle in his eye when talking about you and your future together 🥰

I feel like Jae is a very in the moment kind of guy, so life plans would sound more like something along the lines of "Sure, of course we'll get married one day, but how about tomorrow we..." followed by some random suggestion on a date or activity to do together and it's great because not only are you excited for the future, you're excited about the near future and what tomorrow holds rather than feeling anxious about long term goals.

Although I bet sometimes you guys sleep through the alarm and that thing doesn't happen - but! oh well, you can try again tomorrow or some other time! It really doesn't matter if, say, you stayed up away too late and wake up at 2pm and it's okay that you didn't hop on that random train to some town to go taste a specific food from a specific place... what matters is that you're together and heading just down the road to the usual restaurant or takeaway is just as good an experience because you're both together 😁

And I know you say particularly Jae and Wonpil but, well, you know me by now right? 😅

I actually don't think Dowoon is so much of a cuddly guy if you guys are having deep conversation. Just picture it, you're at the dinner table chatting away about life and other little things you know and he is more than content to just sit there all evening, looking into your eyes, watching your laugh, your smile, and really just feeling a connection just by looking at you and keeping his undivided attention on you. If you're both talking about future plans, he wants to see that you're just as enthusiastic as he is. If he's talking about himself for a while, he needs to know you're interested and not just nodding every now and then as you doze off in his arms 😅

I'm not saying there's no physical contact at all in these conversations though 😅 He's reaching out for your hand across the table as you tell each other you love one another and he's playing footsie with you under the table as you talk about less serious things. Bedtime is when the cuddling is though and that's when you're resting on his shoulder as he's scrolling down some pinterest board related to something you were talking about like renovating a room or making food together like "Oh! This looks fun!" and "Have you seen this?" and aw bless he's soft 🧸

I bet Sungjin is secretly a matching sweaters kind of guy too but it has to be a "manly" colour like grey 😅 and this dude will not only talk to you about life and memories but he's almost like your therapist 😅 He's here to listen about your day and your worries in life and he's always going to help you and talk you through them. He's a very give and take equally kind of guy so maybe some days will be more about him but you both know that in turn, some days will be more about you particularly if one of you has something big happening or coming up like a promotion or an argument with someone close. With Sungjin, you can feel assured that everything is going to be okay, even if it may not feel that way in the present.

Talks with Sungjin come in many different forms. Sometimes it's one of you suggesting to go for a walk so the other can vent and clear their head. Sometimes it's lounging on the couch or in bed and talking about future plans together. Sometimes it's just chit chat between adverts of binge watching a series of something and it's all relaxing either way.

Young K I think would take it one step further than matching sweaters around the house and instead go for matching rings to wear all day because he loves the way they look when your fingers intertwine as you lay at his side and your hands are sort of just playing about with one another's 😊 It can get very philosophical with Young K too so let him know at the start of your evening if your brain is too frazzled to be thinking about the purpose of life or if aliens exist... or what's the secret ingredient of a krabby patty.

I reckon Young K pays extra extra close attention to what is good for you. He knows how you best unwind after a long day or he knows exactly what to say if something is concerning you or playing at the back of your mind or... well, just any situation, he knows what to do.

[9:30 p.m.] you arrive home after a bad and tiring day at work. woosung is seating on the carpet - his back resting against the couch -, reading the book that a fan recommended to him. he looks at your tired figure with so much affection, but frowns when you mumble a small "be right back" and go directly to the bathroom to take a relaxing shower.

after changing to comfortable clothes, you walk lazily to the living room and sit beside woosung, who automatically wraps his arm around your waist.

"wanna talk?" he questions.

"tomorrow. now i just need to cuddle you, but don't wanna bother your reading."

It was yet another night of tossing and turning which wasn’t very usual as of lately since you had found the best remedy for insomnia. It was called Kim Woosung and it worked like a dream. Sleeping next to him, wrapped up in the warmth of his body and hearing him breathe slow and peacefully was the best. However tonight he wasn’t next to you.

It had been a long day and you had decided to go to bed first, telling Woosung it was okay that he continued working since he seemed to be making good progress that day. Turning in bed, his bed, you could see light coming from underneath the bunk bed where he was sitting in front of the piano, working. The light didn’t bother you at all, it was the lack of him next to you that bothered you. Although he was right there in the room with you, you could feel the sharp stabs of loneliness piercing through your tiredness and keeping you from sleeping. When it seemed like the stabbing wouldn’t stop, you finally gave up and slipped off the sheets, instantly feeling the change in the temperature. The days were getting colder as Winter approached.

You climbed down from the bed and went straight towards Woosung, who had his back turned to you and his headphones plugged in to his piano, so he wouldn’t disturb you although you had told him a million times hearing him play would never ever disturb you. You stepped over to him from behind and upon siting on the floor, you attached yourself to him, wrapping your legs around his waist and your arms around his chest, closing your eyes as you laid your head upon his back.

You were in the kitchen, since you had decided you wanted a snack and Woosung was in his room, probably composing or practicing since you had heard his guitar not long ago. You were spending the day at the dorm with him and the other boys were nowhere to be seen. Although you were spending the day with him, you’d always give him space to work on his music. Sometimes you’d sit on his bed, quietly watching him work as it was one of your favorite hobbies, but some other times you’d just leave him be, so you wouldn’t distract him.

You two had been dating for a bit but not that long and so you were nervous. Butterflies kept dancing in your stomach as you picked your outfit and fixed your hair and checked your face. Thank all that is holy that there weren’t any sudden pimples on your skin.

When it seemed like the butterflies had settled down for a little bit, you heard his voice in the distance, calling out your name. When you turned around and saw him waving with the biggest smile, the butterflies went crazy once again.

[ 5:52p.m. ] “god, i need you so bad” jae moaned against your lips. there were books, notebooks and pieces of paper scattered around the floor of your bedroom.

you were sitting on jae’s lap. his hands were on your hips to help you grind against him while your hands were in his shoulders. his lips travelled from your lips to your neck and then to your shoulders.

you pull jae’s hair slightly to grab his attention and when he looks at you kiss him again, this time cupping his face with your hands.

you heard footsteps getting closer and closer. “my mom is coming” your voice came out shaky and breathy. you sat down in your initial place (which was right in front of jae) and tried to fix your har, an action that jae mirrored before grabbing his laptop and placing it on top of his bulge in order to hide it. he began reading some article about international politics.

the door of your room opened in a matter of seconds allowing you to see your mother. both you and jae quickly turned your heads to the sound of the door opening and looked at your mother. “everything ok?” she asked. “yeah” your voice came out in a whisper so you had to repeat yourself. she looses at you and scanned your room, all of the stuff you had on the floor and finally her eyes landed on jae’s figure. “everything’s fine” he said with a smile and a friendly tone.

“honey can I talk with you for a second” she said looking at you. you got up and followed her outside your room. “what’s the matter?” you asked. your body and voice were relaxed but on the inside you were almost dying.

“i’ve told you thousands of times— every time a boy’s with you in your room, you have to leave the door open.” she said, her voice tinted with a bit of annoyance “understood?”

“yep” you answered with a small smile “can i go now? we’re still behind in the writing of the essay”

your mom nodded an you turned around to get back in your room. you say in front of jae and signaled him to keep reading. he complied.

after a little while you got up and searched around the hallway. after not finding anything, you closed the door carefully so it wouldn’t make any noise.

jae chuckled. “how did you know?” he asked in amusement “I didn’t hear her at all”.

“when you grow up with strict parents, you end up learning a thing or two” a slight smile appeared on your lips as you talked. you shaked your head and looked at jae.

“now...” you said wile you took the computer off of jae’s lap “where were we?” you bit your lip and straddled jae again and put your arms around his neck. he smiled and kissed you, his hands traveling to your waist.

now all you had to do was pray for you mother not to interrupt you again.

You let out what could only be described as a combination of a sigh and a whine as you, yet again, opened your eyes to glare at your bedroom ceiling.

Your mind was racing, as it was wont to do – this was nothing new whatsoever, and thinking about all the work you needed to get done for your job tomorrow and the day after was preventing you from getting any sort of rest.

With the arm closest to your side table, you reached over and felt around the surface for your phone. The last time you had checked the clock, it had been about half past one in the morning; what time was it now? You’d been lying here trying – and failing, obviously – to go to sleep for what seemed like quite a while now… maybe it was two? Quarter past?

When you brought your phone up to your face and saw what time it actually was, another sigh-whine escaped from your lips.

2:45 AM.

So, you’d been attempting sleep for over an hour since the last time you’d looked at your phone. And for quite a few hours before that, too. Since 10 PM, to be exact.

…Yeah, you weren’t getting any sleep tonight.

As you turned over onto your side, you unplugged your phone and typed in your passcode to bring up your text messages. There was only one thing you could do at a time like this: text Jae.
