Little concept art for a flipped myth.

Sylus as a mermaid, I feel like mc would be a hired "hunter" trying to catch him due to the payment and so called misfortune he carries and spreads according to the locals, little does she know he is the one who hired her 🫢. (Her previous shipmates probably died due to him and he let her go).

He probably can have legs and lives a double life as a pirate king in a floating city made of ships.

And has planned this meeting for a while.

(he definitely eats people or maybe the whole soul tie thing makes him want to eat her).
