{ â } â It was not like her to be so clumsy. Angels usually were just as graceful as all the myths stated. Of course, those myths never spent much time talking about angels developing crushes on strangers. It was not as if this had not happened before, but rather not exactly under the same circumstances. Stocking fell for people hard and much too fast. The process was hardly a process at all. Before she even realized she was completely invested in someone she had only met a week prior. There was no way to stop it, it was simply inevitable.Â
When he opened his eyes he was even more striking than she had initially thought. She nearly froze in place but opted for fumbling around awkwardly instead. Picking herself up off the ground Stocking then began to attempt to help the boy reconstruct his stack of books. Unfortunately, she was not being much help with her hands shaking from the current nerves she was experiencing. She soon decided it was best not to help since she was doing more harm than good. Instead she took to fixing her hair which had fallen into her face when she met the ground moments prior.
âN-NoâŚthatâs not it I just saw you and IâŚOh, never mind it doesnât matter.â She let herself get scolded once more before tentatively replying. âYou areâŚb-but thatâs not important. YouâŚYou can just forget I said it.â That was when she noticed another book beside her, picking it up she held it for a moment before continuing the conversation.âPlenty of people murder during the day time. Iâve been to a trial where that happened once b-but itâs not likelyâŚIf you are still tired I wonât stop you.â Glancing down at her lap, her emerald gaze met with the object she wished to return to the other. Working up the courage she finally looked up from her lap and handed the book to the troll. âH-Here, I think this is the last one.â
Grabbing books from every which way, Karkat began to reorganize his stacks. At first, he saw the girl's hands helping him with the books. However, due to shaking hand syndrome, she stopped. Whatever, she wasn't really much of a help for him anyways. Every books she "helped" put in a stack was placed randomly. So, he removed them and placed them correctly. This girl sure was quite the person. First she trips and falls, waking him up. Then she has the nerve to call him cute like he's some sort of teddy bear. Just cause a person is shorter than average does not mean they're a child.
Lightly, he listened to her ramble on yet again. Something about people getting killed in daylight and sleeping being okay. Man, just the pick-me-up he needed. What a gal. Now he could really get that beauty rest he needed. Not. If anything, that ruined sleeping for him. Never again would he close his eyes. That ran the risk of murder, or worse, some chick ruining your books. He sighed and continued to stack his books and grab papers from behind him until he finished. However, his victory was interrupted by this girl informing him of the last book.
Karkat turned his attention to the book in her hands, "OH." Slowly, he turned to face her and took hold of the book. He looked up at the girl once he retrieved the book and "FUCK. WOW, NOT WHAT I EXPECTED UM. SORRY YOU SCARED ME. I'M...I'M THANKS FOR THE BOOK I GUESS." Muttering a "holy shit" under his breath, he placed the book in it's stack.
"OH RIGHT, I SHOULD PROBABLY DO THAT WHOLE STUPID FUCKING NAME THING. I'M KARKAT VANTAS. DON'T CALL ME VANTAS OR THE WHOLE DAMN THING OTHERWISE IT'D JUST BE ANNOYING AS HELL." He faced her again. "AND YOU ARE?"
