She never really understood the deal with the Gnome Games—games were supposed to be a fun way to pass the time, and people weren’t supposed to get hurt from them, so why did so many people get end up with life-threatening injuries from it? Why did so many people die from it?
This island was scary; so many people have lost their lives the past few days, and yet the reaction—the reactions from some people just didn’t make sense. How could they care so less about the lives of other people? Were they also like her, still in a state of denial and ignored these announcements so they could stay comfortable for a little while longer? Or did they genuinely just not care at all? Did they revel in the deaths of other?
Additionally, it was even weirder with the deceased getting revived afterwards. Though, in all honesty, nothing seemed to be making sense on this island. The school was run by an ugly bear with a freaky voice, and the students here were being pushed—rewarded even—to kill each other. How did something like this go by unnoticed all this time, and how did the school even receive its high stature with how it went about its business? Humans really… didn’t make much sense sometimes.
Nevertheless, when the games had ended, Ruki made haste to run to the Infirmary to check on Alba and Crea. She had witnessed the event where Alba had been stabbed by someone other than Ross—which was a sure signal that the wound was, indeed, serious. Halfway through watching the games, she’d lost sight of Crea, which worried her greatly as well. With all her anxiety, she wondered if this was how Alba constantly felt with his… worrywart tendencies.
She couldn’t show that she’d been afraid and worried to Alba or Crea—she needed to be happy!! Energetic!! And such—act like nothing was out of the ordinary—to maybe bring some comfort to them that certain things haven’t changed, and once again lull herself back into the state of denial she was in about the entire ordeal with this island. Flawlessly slamming open the doors to the Infirmary in a dramatic manner (an action she’d practiced multiple times in the past week to prepare for this day), she quickly scanned her eyes over the room and found Alba soon enough.
“Alba-san!!” she exclaimed happily, sprinting towards her friend at an alarming speed. Headbutting square into the other's stomach, she whispered a muffled apology before hopping around the other. “Welcome back!!”
