dysphoria facts
your chest is not as big as you think it is
male chests are not 100% flat
it is natural for males to have a slight bump
dysphoria will trick you into believing that there is a large bump but there isnāt
your chest is flat
one binder is enough, never use more than one binder to bind your chest
if you really do believe that there is a bump and it is causing you distress, you may need to buy a new binder because washing/drying incorrectly and prolonged use can cause the binder to lose itās purpose
100% of the time your binder is fine though and it is just your mind telling you different
if you see the slightest bump, you will think it is 10x larger and worse than it actually is, but it isnāt
dysphoria skews your image by heightening your sex characteristicsĀ
no one will notice what you are dysphoric about because often there is nothing to notice, dysphoria is just making you self conscious and distressed over parts that people would not take notice of
dysphoria is not your fault. you are not an inconvenience, crazy or being annoying for having dysphoria. it is a condition and you deserve help.
you may think your legs are super feminine, but they actually appear masculine in those straight jeans. no one notices.
you may have a high pitched voice, but so do many guys. there are cis men who actually sound like women and i know it causes distress, but you can deepen it.
you may have a baby face, but so do other cis men. theyāll just think you look young for your age.
sometimes the closet is necessary to our survival and neverthelessĀ the closet is deeply detrimental to our mental and emotional well-being. thatās the tightrope we have to walk and minimizing either of these facts isnāt helpful imo
Iām bisexual so both
She thought the view was pretty, but I thought she was prettier.
Stop beating yourself up. You are a work in progress - which means you get there a little at a time, not all at once.

Happy National Coming Out Day!
I know this can be a really hard day for people who canāt safely come out, or maybe can but donāt know where they really stand, or or or. Well, as you well know if you follow me here, Anonymous Asks are the norm in this place, so if youāre busting with the desire to Come Out today and canāt safely do so but can safely Anonymous Ask, bring it on in the Ask box and let us celebrate you too! (If youād rather it not be posted, thatās cool too - just note it!)
Itās been 8 months of 2017 and Iāve simultaneously felt all and none of it.
Happy National Coming Out Day! Hereās a list of tips you should consider before making the important decision to come out.Ā
š
The flag will replace the New York state flag on a nautical flagpole outside Stonewall and be raised in a dedication ceremony Oct. 11, which is also designated as National Coming Out Day.
Small good things.
Men are so āprivileged,ā that they have less of a chance to win custody of children after a divorce, along with having higher suicide rates, homeless rates, and die at work rates. Yeahā¦. soooo āprivilegedāĀ
Okay, but are women the direct cause of this?
Do women cause higher rates of suicide in men? No, lack of accessible mental health care & erasure of male mental illness is.
Do women cause a higher rate of homelessness in men? No, a capitalist system hellbent on exploiting the working class for their own benefits are. Plus, thereās all the other causes of homelessness to factor in.
Are women the cause of higher death rates in the workplace? No, these are jobs that were claimed by men for men. Higher risk jobs are worked by men, (generally bc thatās what accessible to him), so this is more of a classist issue than a gendered one.
Are women the cause of higher combative deaths? No, the government mainly targets young men to join the military so they can dream up wars for those guys to die in. Then, if you manage to make it home alive, your chance of homelessness & mental illness is higher. (I wonder how many veterans make up the homeless & suicide statistics).Ā Ā
Are women the cause of higher homicide rates in men? No, men are more likely to be the victim of a crime committed by another man than by a woman. (Definitely not saying women arenāt murderers or donāt commit crimes, feel like I gotta put that in here).
Are women the cause of low custody rate after divorce? Iād say yes & no.Ā However, the biggest cause would be that women have been deemed care takers & whereas men have not. Thatās a quality created by men. Though, I donāt believe women are fighting this privilege.Ā
Are women the cause of lower graduation rates in men? No, thereās no discouragement from women on men going or graduating from college. Iād say cost of schooling is the biggest cause of a lower statistic in college graduates. That or personal choice.Ā
The abuse topic is rather tricky. Thereās all sorts of causes that creates abusive people. I donāt see how this makes it on the list of privileges for either gender because both genders can create abusive people.Ā
Privileges on different sides of the spectrum are incomparable.Ā
Privileges that are not a direct cause of women cannot disprove male privilege. Definitely bring up ones that are direct causes of women, that way they can be addressed & hopefully solved to help men get the help & attention they need. But using these wildly incomparable statistics will not help men & certainly will not address the root of the problem.Ā
The male privileges feminists talk about are ones created by men, benefit men, & marginalize women. The female privileges that anti-feminists talk about are ones created by men, are not beneficialĀ to women as a whole, (it doesnāt benefit women to have homeless people or higher suicide statistics in men..like?), & it hardly, if ever, marginalizes men.Ā
The suffering of men should be addressed as a separateĀ issue because thereās no direct correlation between the causeĀ of male privilegeĀ & the cause female privilege. Men created the system that we are all suffering from, not the other way around.Ā
Weāre celebrating National Coming Out Day with these great films from our collection!
Come check them out!
Each one of these women has an amazing story to tell, but we know nothing about them. This history is hidden from us, because they are women of color.Ā
Their names are Dr Anandibai Joshi, class of 1886; Dr Kei Okami, class of 1889; and Dr Sabat Islambooly, class of 1890.Ā
Dr Joshi was the first Indian woman to earn an MD; her Wikipedia page has the broad details of her life story. She argued that she should go to medical school due toĀ āa growing need for Hindu lady doctors in Indiaā, and was apparently the only student with the stomach to last through a demonstration autopsy of an infant.Ā She died of tuberculosis in 1887, aged just 21 years old, but was such a remarkable figure thatĀ her first biography was published in 1888; since then there have been multiple biographies, a novel, a play, and a Hindi serial about her life. Drexel University has quite a few more documents about her in their archives.
Dr Okami was the first Japanese woman to earn a degree in Western medicine from a Western university; she also has a Wikipedia pageĀ which gives an overview of her life. Among other things she was appointed to head the gynaecology unit at Jikei Hospital in Tokyo, butĀ resigned after Emperor Meiji visited the hospital and refused to receive her because she was a woman.
Dr Islambooly is the least well-known; her life was mostly undocumented after she returned home to Syria as the countryās first female physician. She was apparently a Kurdish Jewish womanĀ who later moved to Cairo, where she died in 1941.
Hereās an article about their medical school, mentioning some of the other pioneering women who attended it.
Happy national coming out day!!! Be proud of your gender/sexuality and donāt ever let anyone tell you youāre not perfect because damnit you are! ā¤ļøšššš
