need a t-shirt that says i had a weird heavily symbolic dream last night please don't talk to me
@krieper (cool, observant) has been watching this chicken-of-the-woods (white-pored, Laetiporus cincinnatus) develop at the base of a neighborâs live oak for the last couple days. I (smitten, distracted) had to have it brought to my attention on our nightly rounds. Itâs easily softball-sized today and far enough out from the trunk that the rosette is convincing all around.
Another Linocut Feathursday
We have even more linocut renderings by Spokane, Washington printer and printmaker W. Gale Mueller (1927-2018) from his Forty Years of Birds ân Blocks, printed from the original blocks at his Millstone Press in 2009 in an edition of 53 copies. From 1969 to 2009, Mueller and his wife Bonnie sent holiday cards with Galeâs original bird prints using several relief print processes. Today we show a handful of linocut prints from 1976-1980. For those who want to know more about these birds, here you go:
Common Loon (Gavia immer)
Belted Kingfisher (Megaceryle alcyon)
Killdeer (Charadrius vociferus)
Red-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta canadensis)
Bewick's Wren (Thryomanes bewickii)
Our copy of this book is a gift from our friend Tony Drehfal.
