Why is it important to remove your makeup before bed? >It is very important to remove makeup before going to bed - it can cause extensive damage to your skin during the night.

>The skin renews itself while you sleep, and when you leave makeup on, you are preventing that from happening. The skin ceases to breathe and fatigue signs appear soon enough.

>As most makeup is made of oily substances, when it stays on for the next day, it clogs your pores and leads to the appearance of more acne and blackhead breakouts.

>Makeup residue and the substances that make your make up can also cause many skin imperfections, when left for hours on end during the night. That’s why it is important to use a makeup remover before going to bed, and then moisturizing your face to help your skin breathe right.

When it comes to choosing a cleanser, you should first get an oil cleanser to remove any dirt, or debris.

>Next select a gel or cream cleanser based on skin type normal, dry, oily, combination (both oily and dry skin) and sensitive.

>Then select a toner to help balance ph of skin. Make sure your toner is alcohol free.

>Exfoliating your face either, daily, every other day etc., based of skin durability. Will assist with getting rid of that dead cell layer on your stratum corneum (skin layer) that occurred during your cell turnover process while sleeping.

>Serums are used to treat any skin concerns such as acne, dryness, hyperpigmentation, dullness etc.

> Moisturizers will help ensure moisture and shouldn’t be heavy on skin. You also want to select one that targets your skin type.

>SPF 30+ or higher is key no matter what!!! Even if you skip the rest and just wash your face. This will help protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays from the sun, will also protect your skin from age spots, hyperpigmentation, and sunburn. If in sunlight longer hours than average. Make sure you reapply every 2 hours to ensure protection.

This time of year, I tend to endure super dry lips. I’ve noticed by drinking more water, wearing a SPF 15 lip balm and using a lip scrub definitely helps reduce those cracked unhealthy lips. Also helps ensures your matte lip or lip stains go on beautifully.

Why is skin care so important?

Skin is made up of three layers, skin protects us, absorbs elements we need to function, excretes oil and waste, helps regulate body temperature, and is largely responsible for our ability to feel physical sensations. In short, skin care goes far beyond beauty. It's an integral part of staying healthy and living well. So taking care of your skin first before applying any forms of makeup is key. Makeup is to enhance the natural beauty of your skin, although camouflage makeup is definitely a thing in dire situations. I want to educate on the fact that you can’t expect to see results covering up your flaws. Take care of your skin health first, that way makeup could be an option not a necessity. Trust me I love makeup like any other girl. But you gotta maintain your skin health!

She graduated with her Associates of Arts Degree, in May of 2012, we’re she fell in love with world of stage makeup.
