Crisesfreak???? ... Freak of Crises?!... Krisenfreak
I think I am able to write comprehensible english texts and I think, that a more European approach to the whole Blog...
...sorry... ...its Tumblr. My fault!
...to the whole Tumblr, would benefit from the use of the english language. So, right from the beginning in English:
(Disclaimer: The use of the english language should not be regarded as mandatory. Ich werde sicherlich auch wieder einen Text auf Deutsch oder gar francais (mit der “5″ unterm c) schreiben. Liest ja eh keiner. Back to topic:)
My writings are about you and me, about ordinary people life in Europe and my thoughts about it.
I am in the middle of my 30th. Male. Working class “evolved” academic, from a European country with a multi-ethical (European-abroad) background or as you would say today: a migrant. Which is not really untypical in Europe. I mean, being a migrant! I was born abroad and raised in the middle of Europe. Not because of its wealth! We had and still have possibilities to leave this place. But this is our home, in a the-place-were-mom-and-dad-met-ish way. The culture of the country i was raised in, may have left its traces in me (especially with this sentence), but I am a typical European breed, since my ancenstors from overseas originated from Europe, as well. I bet even my genes are European! Yet my nationality is not the one of the country I live in! This would be too easy. So, instead of a migrant you could see me as an European re-import. This is a typical economic course of action in our markets.
I am critic and critique. Social scientist but foremost jurist, who worked for several years for and with the university on regulatory impact assessment projects with different German state departements. Ok, I must admit, that this academic background might be unusual, too. However, in Germany these jobs are well paid, but highly uncertain. You might have multiple projects with different deadlines and multiple times you are out of work, spending the “surplus” money you gained, to maintain living. Since my scholarship for my thesis ended, which by the way precariously influenced my financial situation a lot, I did not try to return to the university. So, I was without a job, for some time and tried to find something suitable. The market situation is a mess. I am not sure, if if it is because I am not wearing a tie on the photo of my curriculum vitae (this common in Germany, to make photos), but even getting an interview is difficult, when your qualifications would match just a few vacancies in the corner and going abroad is financially not feasible by now. However, I was trained as a bookseller years ago and 4 weeks ago I started working in part-time as a bookseller in a nation-wide franchise. I earn little money while I am waiting for a better opportunity and try to diversify in the meantime, but I am not sure, if this is the only reason I am writing here. Surely, I want to leave some baggage, too. You will get my opinions right away. However, I will try to provide some links for the interested to get an overview. Be fair in arms.
However, now, or better: 4 month ago. I came to the conclusion that I manoeuvered myself in a direction which is not fruitful at all for me. 5 years of partly frustrating work, since studies in the socials are studies in the socials - it’s not rocketsience. It’s about consultation of state departements. These years left their own traces and I decided to start from the beginning. I have no savings, no car, no fancy house, but very good friends and family. As well, I am a bachelor. Not because I never had the chance and opportunity to enjoy a long relationship with a woman, not because of shyness or biological deficiencies or whatever the like. It’s because I don’t want it right now! I had some frustrating and joyful moments I never want to miss, but right now, I don’t want that kind of emotional distraction. I am not sure if I will stay in Germany or if I have to go abroad to find a job. Honestly, I think I will not be frustrated in another country. I think this would be the biggest adventure. Funny thing is that I never left the corner for more than 3 months. But I saw a lot of Europe.
I write about politics and Europe. I reflect against the background of my studies, my personal experiences and provide my opinion but I also just want to write along, improve my skill during a chaotical ride on the keyboard. Let’s see what happens.
