thank you @paneerlajwanti for telling me <33
I have a hc that when krishna went to dwarka, there were a few women who would always leave curd for him at the palace gates and make a request to feed him themselves. The guards always refused, but krishna would find a way to leave the palace and go to their homes so they could feed him.
Something something about if you can't reach madhav, he will find a way to reach you
Anyway. Goodnight to my beloved kanha 🩷✨️
Indians and Pakistanis when we're not in India and Pakistan:
I keep seeing a lot of anti-Pakistan posts and tweets about Pakistani people "stealing" Indian culture. I just want to make sure everyone here is aware that India and Pakistan literally share cultural and historical ancestry. And, no matter what you think or say, is not going to change the fact.
India and Pakistan were born out of same motherland. We're literally siblings please get your shit together. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I can understand your sentiments. The problem is we don't have any issues in considering them our siblings if they stop killing our people through state funded terrorism, which they have done so for years since the partition. They've driven Kashmiris from their homes, they're killing Kashmiris even now, they're responsible for every major security issue we have had. If Pakistan will cross our borders and kill innocent Indians, oppress their own Hindu and Sikh minorities, and then "reclaim their culture" and call everything even remotely clout producing that's Hindu as "South Asian" or "Desi" without giving due credits, what are we to do? Sit back and say nothing? Why hasn't Basant been celebrated in Pakistan for such a long time? Or even if it has, why are we finding out right now?
Yes, we do share cultural and historical ancestry. But, even that is not entirely true. The most similarity Pakistan has with India is the state of Punjab, regions of Sindh and Gujarat and the union territories of Jammu and Ladakh, and Kashmir because they decided to take control of a part and which is now considered to be "Azad Kashmir" (nothing about that Kashmir really is Azad.) Pakistan, to be fair, has nothing in common with Karnataka or Kerala, or even the North East (unless you're considering Bangladesh, but let them enjoy their sovereignty while it lasts). So, that statement is also half the truth. The rest is more similar to indigenous Afghanistan and it's tribes than India.
And why not be anti-Pakistan? They've killed my brothers and sisters and so many innocent people have lost their lives because of their actions. Why should I not be against such a military regime that can't even feed its own people, the rich run away to the UK and the poor are left to fend on their own and brutally suppress their minorities?
I really don't want to get into a discourse or arguments about this. I will stand by what I wrote in the post earlier.
1) When we talk about terrorism, let's get on the same page about the fact that terrorism is carried out by most countries, if not all. India, too, is on the list. Yes, Pakistan has, in fact, carried out multiple terrorist acts, but the same has been done by India as well. I'm not defending Pakistan. I just want to objectively state that it's an action done by the people as per the government's orders or carried out by nationalists (on both the side of border).
2) For the longest time, Hindu meant India, which was derived from Indu, as we all know. India, the civilization near Indus River. Indian culture is a superset, with Hindu culture being the subset. If you're mad about Hindu culture being "stolen" by Pakistan, I want to tell you that Bali and many SEA countries also have culture and traditions borrowed from India and actively engage in them even though they're in no way part of India. (SEA-blings!!! ^-^)
This cultural spread happened because!! (you guessed it right) Indians were there some where at some point to spread the culture. The same is true with Pakistan. Indians were there at some point and encouraged our culture to be followed.
In the same context, I'd like to say that since India was such a huge country and full of richness, not just financial but also cultural, our people were spread all over south, east asia, and south-east asia, as a result of which, we have many cultural similarities. Hence why a lot of people call it south-east culture! That being said, I agree that stuff that originated in India should be classified as Indian and popularised as Indian and not South-East Asian.
Statements that "we have shared cultures that should be celebrated" and "Indian things should be popularised as Indian" are two different things and should be comprehended as such.
3) The fact that India and Pakistan share culture and historical ancestry is true because it was a part of the same big-ass country pre-independence that was divided by colonisers.
Pakistan doesn't share similarities with Karnataka and Kerala or the northeast. But neither does north India. The rest is more similar to Afghanistan because they are neighbours, which again led to the borrowing and spreading of cultures. Tamil language is popular in Sri Lanka because Tamil Nadu is close to Sri Lanka. North-East India and China have things in common because they're close. So, yeah.
All this being said, my intention is not to argue or deny anything. I just want to encourage good relations with our sibling country. Yes, we have had political issues since the beginning of partition (because of partition), we need to understand that it's our governments who have encouraged such behaviours. I would also like to point out that there are people in Pakistan who would rather watch India turn to ashes and people in India who would want the same for Pakistan. But despite the existence of all this, there are people who love and respect the people on the other side. I have had Internet friends in my teens who were from Pakistan. She respected my country and beliefs in the same way I did hers. (We became friends through 1D fandom!) At the end of the day, they are people just like us.

one of my favourite lines from meera's poetry:
दरद की मारी बन बन डोलूँ वैद मिल्यो नहीं कोय।
मीरां की प्रभु पीर मिटै जब वैद सांवलया होय॥
In simple words, she says that she has been wandering around places yearning to find kanha so much so that she's wounded by it. And her wounds will only stop hurting when her beloved Govind comes and heals her.
I think she put down her words very beautifully in this! It's so lovely to read.
If you want to read the entire thing, you can read it here:

started rewatching starplus mahabharat and i feel bad for gandhari she really deserved so much more
i think that's the tragedy of every woman character in Mahabharata. They had so much at times and yet they deserved so much more.
Man i could speak for ages about how every woman in Mahabharata deserved more and we're wronged
you're so real for that that they all deserved so much better than that
my dearest gopi community,
so.
