Autumn Changed Us All by Supporting The Dogs
Just finished up the video for “Autumn Changed Us All” by my band Supporting The Dogs. A lot of “hack’n’slash” comping and After Effects animation. Check it out! :)
A little teaser for my bands’, Supporting The Dogs, new track called “Autumn Changed Us All”. We’ll release it on sunday the 9th of April. I love doing these simpler and more abstract videos once in a while.
Maya fluids! A few quick crappy renders of me blindly stumbling around in the world of mayas fluids simulations.
Tiny update, but a large leap in my project. For a long time i’ve been wanting to populate my environment with hundreds of small bushes and rocks to sell the scale and speed in the shot and I finally got a solution. I had ruled out xGen for a long time because I thought it was way too buggy and time consuming to work with. However, after recommendations and advice from a classmate I took it up again. It seems that rather than being buggy, xGen is just EXTREMELY picky when it comes to naming and folder structure... like INSANELY picky. The slightest mistake and the whole thing crashes. When xGen is stable though I love the tool. Its a great for instancing and randomization. Plus it renders in a matter of minutes with vRay(and my polycount is around 80.000.000)
small texture update
WIP: Some renders from vray. There’s still some way to go with the look dev but its starting to take shape i feel.
Latest look development of the speeder. its still quite WIP but parts of it are starting to take form. The jet engine is the latest contribution in regards to textures/shading. Next up will be panels on the main body. Rendered in Vray
Been spending quite some time on designing and creating panels and rivets in mari on the speeder. This simple black and white mask will be exported to nuke to create som procedural noise/dirt that can then be brought back into mari for texturing. I am really starting to like how awesome nuke is in the texturing workflow!
look dev on small rocks that will be scattered throughout the environment.
Lookdev on some bushes that are going to be scattered across the environment. I used mayas paint effects and simple vray shaders to get a decent look. My goal was to create the assets as quickly as possible since you will never see any of them up close. I plan on using xGen to instance them around the environment... if that plugin ever decides to be stable
This is how my personal project is looking so far. I’ve got some great feedback from some amazing people back at MPC so I am in for a lot work on this project now. I have 5 weeks of self study at The Animation Workshop which I can utilize. I hope it will be enough to finish it.
Long time since I’ve done an update. The last two months i’ve spend working for MPC in London as a junior compositor which has been great. This is the final model for a personal project I am doing. All modelled in Maya. It took quite some time since its been my first serious attempt on doing a hard surface project. I am gonna take up the project again in the coming weeks, and start updating regular about.
an assignment for colorclass at The Animation Workshop. Had the pleasure of being taught by Joaquim Royo who has a very inspirational approach to not just color, light and composition, but also towards motivation. Really good experience.
I did some rigging for the engine of my vehicle. I spent a little bit of time to look at how the exhaust would work on a jet engine, and tried to recreate it as well as i could
engine part for my personal project. Its almost done, but i think ill leave it for now and work a little on the rest of the vehicle. Modeled in maya, rendered with vray
zBrush sculpt for a school assignment. Concept by Ida Jakobsen.
