I don’t usually post animations on here, but since I’ve been working on this non-stop this last week I thought I might as well show it off here. Feat. Me falling on my butt (yeah, I do my own stunts)

Hi, this is very hard for me to share, but I need help.

I’m currently facing a serious financial emergency that puts my ability to stay in Denmark and graduate from art school at risk. Due to disability, lack of income, and accumulated debt, I don’t have the means to cover basic necessities right now.

I’ve been working for years to get into this school and build a future here. If I can’t get through this period, I risk losing my studies, my housing, and my legal ability to stay in the country.

I’ve set up a GoFundMe to cover essentials and survive this critical moment. Any support or share genuinely helps more than I can express.

The thick canopy blocks most sunlight, often taken by monkeys higher in the hierarchy. Suddenly, a fallen dead monkey disrupts the darkness. Monkeys gather, including Vervet with a small glass, playing with light. But monkeys higher up block the new ray. While others scatter, Vervet persists, fighting for a spot in the sun. Despite early victories, he realizes he's in over his head. Monkey Movie is an animation short film by students of ANIM20 at The Animation Workshop. The team worked on the film throughout their studies, and it is now released as part of their graduation in 2024.

                                                  CHARACTERS

Mimm is a calm child whose curiosity and ever changing interest in things, people and animals can’t be quenched. This can get him in trouble as he has little understanding of consequence and social norms. His dad is a zoologist who he has picked up a lot of knowledge from. Because of which he is considered very smart for his age. Mimm lives together with his dad and grandpa. His lack of commitment has made it so he doesn’t have any close friends, which is something he deeply wants.

Sviki is a moody teen from a rich family. She lives with both her parents up by the hanging stalactites. She thinks her parents are boring and mostly just wanna hangout with her friends and be distracted. Despite this she has still picked up on a lot of her parents habits and generally thinks less of strangers. She’s also forced to carry out some of their dirty deeds. But she’s quite warm if you can get her to open up to you. She loves to sing and dreams of maybe being part of a gig sometime.

Orrd is a highly religious banished criminal. After endlessly roaming the tunnels she managed to get exposed to the light of the corrupted star, which filled her with an extreme desire to destroy Souls Crystal. She’s now the leader of a cult who live in the dark. They forcibly expose Tabas to the corrupting light to recruit members. She is a people knower and an excellent trapper. Which before banishment she used to mug people but now use to overpower. She’s patient in general and with others.

                                            ILLUSTRATIONS

Here are some of the last interesting things I did for my TAW portfolio. If you happen to be interested and don’t know what this is, these pieces were done for The Animation Workshop GSPortfolio where one of the requested assignments were worldbulding. A synopsis of the world and some environments can be found in the post previous to this one.  I really loved doing this so so much and I’m really proud of what I achieved! I especially loved the last illustation. :)
