       "at  least  they  got  better  music  this  year,"  cam  muses,  refilling  his  cup  with  something  that  will  definitely  give  him  a  hangover  tomorrow,  but  at  least  he  thinks  that's  the  best  way  to  start  the  new  semester.  "feel  like  last  year  was  kidz  bop  adjacent."  it  wasn't,  but  he  just  thinks  his  taste  in  music  is  better.

"i dunno, i always feel like it could be... dancier." a critique of the music at any event they attended nowadays. unless kesha was playing, the function was an absolute snoozefest. that didn't stop dara from having a good time, but it did mean she had to put more work into it "the drinks are decent, though." she recalls a few moments before, bickering with a bartender about the specificities of her martini, and cracks a smile, laugh threatening to break through "what would you play, if you were the dj?"

"And, of course, the strawberries didn't last a darn week after the first day of Summer harvest this year, which is a crying shame, if you ask me," it was one those ramblings in that sweet Georgia Peach southern accent that made Wendy's voice ring like a bell in a crowd full of people. Perhaps she would be more cautious of big parties like this if she wasn't so distinguishable by the people who knew her. Though, the more she spoke, the more her lungs began to grow tired, "... I'm talking too much, aren't I?" she brought a cup with a pink straw perched inside to her lips.

it was refreshing, not being the most talkative person in a room at any given moment. dara had her fair share of overexcited conversations this evening, and part of her worried she was starting to really annoy people. wendy was a nice change of pace, and the attention lover in her didn't mind being quiet half as much as she normally did "oh, i don't mind." they quickly shake their head, offering a reassuring smile as they circled a straw around the rim of their glass "wait, so is it the heat that kills the strawberries, or does everyone just really like them and eat 'em all up ?"

iggy had been trying to grab some of the food scattered around the party all night, and had failed miserably the entire night. no matter what, something always gets in the way before he can shove something in his mouth. it's why he resolved himself to drink. on an empty stomach. so even the weakness of the drinks given, iggy was having a great time. he stood swaying to the soft background music. he was almost so lost in it, he didn't notice he softly bumped into another guest, "oh my bad- my bad," his winning smile plastered on his face, "you had one of these things yet?" he held up his cup.

dara wasn't quite used to the more sedated environment of a bar, and it showed in the way she was flitting around the place, practically bouncing from person to person, sometimes dancing on her own. everyone seemed to be having fun, but the kind of fun she suspected wouldn't involve getting any louder than they were now. they'd been rummaging through their purse for a flask they knew they'd packed, in the event that the drinks weren't to their standards, when another body collided with them "oh, shoot. no, no it's okay !!" dropping the series of miscellaneous items back into the mess of a bag, they looked up to meet the gaze of the other, offer a reassuring smile "depends what's in it, i had kind of a couple samples." she doesn't wait for a response, reaching forward and gently taking the stranger's cup from his hand, replacing it with her bag as she took a sip "oh, no i don't think i've had this. what is it?"
