VAMPIRES are creatures that were once mortal and living beings. Now undead, immortal beings that feast on the blood of living creatures, they lack a heartbeat or a pulse and are cold to the touch. It's believed that these creatures of the night came from witches cursing mortals. Some people desired immortality and eternal youth and beauty. Others sought cures for their ailments in times before modern medicine. Regardless, their desires came with the prices of bloodlust and aversion to daylight. Deep in the mountains of Oymyakon, Russia, stands a castle named KROVS, which loosely translates to "lifeblood” in the native tongue. It is the oldest establishment of its kind, built to solely cater to extremely wealthy male vampires and the powerful Vampire Council. The slaves imprisoned at Krovs Castle are selected from various backgrounds and species, but they all have one thing in common: their beauty.

For the vampires, it’s like heaven on earth. But for the slaves, they hold onto either the dream of being claimed or the hope of escaping. Being claimed by a vampire means a life of luxury, but escaping means freedom. It all depends on who’s smart enough to reach for which dream.

FAERIES are magical and ethereal immortal beings that come from an alternate dimension known as the Faerie Realm. They are one of the oldest supernatural species in existence. In ancient times they were created by elemental spirits and have evolved and advanced into their own species separate from spirits. Much of their history has inspired plenty of fairy tales and folklore about these mischievous creatures, especially in European cultures. Many compare them to demons or spirits and these three species share some commonalities that may explain why they tend to get along better than with other supernatural species. TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE...

SHAPESHIFTERS are not people who change into animals, but an animal that can appear as a human; they are truly animals deep inside with given instincts and abilities. Each shifter is born with their animal form predetermined. Genetics play a factor – i.e., a shifter born to a pair of lion and tiger shifters will take on a feline form. Occasionally recessive genes can lead to a shifter being a completely different genus than their parents. Every shifter's human form possesses physical characteristics or personality traits that resemble the animals they are. There's no limit to the types of animals that these creatures can be with many shifters born as wild beasts like wolves, coyotes, lions, bears, falcons, snakes, and so on...

ENCHANT US WITH YOUR SONG...

MERMEN are formidable magical creatures that inhabit the oceans of the world where they live in grand underwater cities. Many legends claim that they’re the descendants of the myth-enshrouded Atlantis, however, mermen have existed for far longer and are actually considered part of the fair folk due to their nature magic reigning over the oceans.

The elder merfolk remember the days of living amongst the faeries in the beautiful and enchanted Faerie Realm although this species began migrating to earth long before the portals were sealed shut. They've always been nomadic beings, traveling from one place to another and never really finding a permanent home save for any place underwater or by the sea. Plenty of tales have spoken of these sea creatures guiding sailors home safely with their enchanting and mystical singing voices. Those same tales also have a darker twist on them that claims mermen (and mermaids) used their musical gifts to lure lonely men at sea to their watery deaths...

COME RUN WITH WOLVES...

WEREWOLVES are like vampires in the sense that the species started with a curse that dates back centuries. Witches cursed ordinary humans in revenge for hunting and killing their kind. They found it fitting in transforming witch hunters into the predatory beasts they saw them as. At first, it felt like more of a gift gaining an extended life, super strength, speed, and excessive stamina. But when the first full moon rose, they realized the full extent of the curse. They experienced a forced and painful transformation, their bones breaking and muscles tearing as they turned into large wolves. They'd lose their humanity in this form and become completely animalistic. The following morning they’d wake in horror to see the extent of damage done to their homes and loved ones having no recollection of the events...

WELCOME TO KROVS CASTLE...

For centuries, the supernatural world has been well-known amongst humans ever since the vampires came into power as the reigning species. THE VAMPIRE COUNCIL, a group of the oldest, brightest, and strongest vampires that each represent an individual country around the world, serves as the supernatural governing body. After the Second War ended in the late 1700s, the council created luxury resort castles around the world for all of vampire-kind to come, stay, relax, and indulge in the variety of human and non-human prisoners to service them. With these castles came a law that the council believed would put an end to any other revolutions against them – every year, hunters employed by the council would go out into the world and pluck random and unlucky adults to join the ranks of these castle slaves.

KROVS CASTLE, set in Oymyakon, Russia, is the most notorious and most popular of these resort castles with the best of the best in services and slaves to offer for those who can afford the high prices. This castle is also where the Vampire Council has agreed to meet in person while enjoying their own extended vacations. For vampires, this place is heaven on earth. Their extraordinary healing abilities and beauty made them sought after by all species to be used as pets or slaves. Because of this their numbers have dwindled to near extinction, yet there are a few hiding around in a human disguise. It’s difficult to distinguish who a phoenix might be, especially since this species is capable of resurrecting themselves with a new face every few hundred years...

DEMONS are malevolent and malicious supernatural entities that come from the Underworld or hell. It’s in their nature to be manipulative and mischievous. They crave chaos and madness in the world and come to earth to spread it through their sinful natures. These wicked creatures are not naturally born in the world through the union of two parents – they are the products of corrupted souls or spirits in death or they can be created through extremely powerful dark magic.

This species is one of the oldest and most powerful supernatural beings – the other being their antithesis celestials. All demons are immortal with exceptional physical and magical abilities that are usually beyond what witches and other species can accomplish in skill and power. LET’S CAUSE A LITTLE MISCHIEF...

SPIRITS are a broad category of supernatural entities that have essentially died as mortal beings and their souls wander the earth for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to: finding peace in their death and moving on, manipulating and toying with the living, or protecting the living from other evils. Others believe that "spirit" is a phrase for someone who has reached a state of enlightenment and gained supernatural abilities that way. While spirits are classified as "immortal," they cannot remain a spirit for the rest of their life on earth. For the most part, these beings tend to fall into corruption and become full-fledged demons (with whom they are commonly associated with already given the similarities). However, there are instances where these spirits – especially benevolent ones – are able to move on and earn their wings as a celestial.

YŌKAI (妖怪 ようかい): The yōkai are a class of spirits from Japanese folklore that once started as ordinary animals. After these animals passed and reached an appropriate age, they became enlightened spirits and gained the ability to turn into humans and other supernatural abilities. Some of these spirits can be friendly and harmless while others are far more wicked and should be avoided. Others attribute them closely to demons given their knack for wickedness...
