READ THE WHOLE POST! Well some skills don't die out... Some skills re-emerge at strange times! Recently completed this long overdue painting Presenting before you... SHAKTI... the omniscient divine feminine Medium : Acrylic colors and glitter, glass marker on canvas Artist : Krish She is the divine feminine, the source of all power, the prakriti, the mother... Devi... Mahamaya... whose all permeating consciousness wields the forces of creation, preservation and destruction! She is adorned by the #crescent_moon, symbolising the myriad and varied nuances, moods and manifestations of her existence... The #snake stands for awareness which combines with the half open eyes, which are deep in the dispassionate embrace of meditation and yet aware of the entire macrocosm... Her unbound #Hair symbolises the commencement of #Time itself... The #lotus depicts her compassionate beauty that charms, and blesses with all encompassing grace for the universe... She is the womb of all creation from where the universe emerged... And the dimension into which it shall fade and conclude!

ARE THE LISTENERS HEARD??

Today, in the world full of people constantly speaking, talking, opinionating, posting & tweeting; listeners are a rare species. There are very few people who are actually ready to LISTEN.

Sometimes these listeners are either a patient ear, wanting to let you pour your heart out, sometimes they offer advice, sometimes they are for you to vocalize your mind, sometimes they are a shoulder to cry on. Sometimes they are a place you can vent your confided emotions.

They can be your parents, your siblings, your best friend, your spouse, your colleague, your teacher, your mentor, your child, your neighbour, your virtual pen friend, your crush…

But have we bothered to reciprocate their efforts?

We need to understand that these people are not dump yards of our feelings; they are not here to just keep listening and remain silent. They have a voice too, which often goes unnoticed, uncared or bothered for. They too need a place to pour their heart out, a confidante, and a solace.

Question is, are they getting it?

Let’s look around for a while…  a lot of us probably have people whom we can fall back on, speak for hours together about our feelings, opinions, gossips, information, occurrences in our lives. Let’s look back and analyse once, do we listen to them too. Do they get to talk to us back, about what they feel…?

Often these listeners are introverts; they don’t share unless asked for. Sometimes they don’t want to share even when asked for. There is a thin line between asking them to share and pestering & invading their privacy. Having said that, we need to give them the space that they have offered us, so that they can be heard too.

A weird dream...

Like one of my occasional vivid dreams, I had one last night... Twas a strange array of events and people in the midst of myriad memories and funny incidents Twas some event at the GNIDSR Panihati Kolkata. I was dressed in my three piece tailored suit ready for the formal event. But in the rush of the moment to grab a tie (like every college day) I didn't realise that what i tied around my neck thinking a black tie, was actually a piece of black fabric tied neatly last time for some other event by Dipanwita Mondal, coz after all only she, if at all anyone, is capable of turning a piece of fabric into a tie... Lol I apparently managed to dismantle the folds, standing in the open and empty stage of DNS Mugma, which happened to, somehow be a part of the field of the Guru Nanak Campus, Panihati. And as the reality struck me that I'm now NOT wearing a tie, for the event I needed to rush to my place next to the college to grab a tie for my attire... As I rush out of the gate, I hear a beckoning from the girls... A huge mob of pretty much all my female friends I suppose, donned in, (again I dunno why) , gorgeous Western couture red carpet gowns! ‌But everyone else was blurry except for Shruti Bijapur standing right in front of the crowd calling out for me in a bejewelled lovely red semi transparent flowy pleated gown, the the look of *where the fuck are you going out of the campus at this hour*, and just next to her, a few steps behind, Supriya Nayak in a similar red gown but different cut, near the arms, asking a similar question..., [Supu baby I hope your husband and in-laws don't have a problem with you featuring in my dream, in absolute platonic way] And there it ends... As I rush out of the gate gesturing 'I'll be back in a moment' Weird but funny 😂😂😂 #KrrishDreams
